  1. So I just had a Viper r350 put into my vehicle...I want to add additional sirens. I've seen some 120db ones online for as little as $6... Anyone know if there's a limit to how many I can run off this alarm? I'm thinking 1 in each corner of the vehicle would be nice...

So what are the benefits of a line driver? I have a Clarion VRX755VD w/ 2volt preouts. With the gains set at 3/4 of the way up I still have to turn the deck's subwoofer gain setting to +3. If I don't turn the deck gain to +3 then the subs won't "max out", even when I reach full volume on the HU. Would a line driver solve this problem? I just don't feel safe turning the gain on the amp all the way up.

im runnin out of preout voltage so i decided to buy a line driver, question is, does adding a line driver bypasses the gain of the amp? turning the gain all the way down wouldnt affect the line driver's settings?

Im wondering if the signal voltage will be sufficiently boosted by the http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27392_PAC-LD-10.html. Will this line driver take the place of a healthy 4.5 pre-out voltage that would be otherwise coming from a deck? I have heard the headphone jack of an ipod has 60 miliamps of current at full volume and im trying to boost that up to what would come out of a deck, effectively eliminating the deck. And if It can supply that voltage, can I max it out to ten volts and then run two Y splitters off of the output side of the line driver? giving me two sets of RCA's at 5 volts off of one ipod headphone jack? thanks all

i've had my system hooked up for several months now and just decided to add a rockford 360 line driver. i hooked it all up with the remote wire to the rockford 360 tied in with the remote wire to my amp. as soon as i started turning it up my amp went into protect mode. so i took i guess at that me adding the remote wire to my amp did it. so i moved the remote wire to one of my secondary batteries just to see and it still throws it into protect mode. the voltage doesnt drop it will just go itno protect mode. any ideas or suggestions? just incase you need to know what i have system wise 2 18'' HDC3 audioque DC power high output alt 3 batteries in the back (2 kintik HC1200) …

My deck is rated at 4 volt preamp but when I measured it I get 4.1 volts at maximum volume on my subwoofer RCA and 0.7 volt on my front and rear. The deck manual States 4 volt at 10 percent Distortion so my question is should I pick up a 3-way line driver, cap the deck volume at three quarters, and use the line driver to boost the one volt and 3 volt signal up to 6 volt?

I hate to bring up a topic that I know has been discussed before, but I have some details about my particular scenario that may help you all help me on deciding what to do. The equipment I have that is in question is as follows: -Kenwood DNX-5120 Nav Unit -Sundown 50.4 -Image Dynamics CTX65CS Components (4 ohm) -Mach 5 MLI 6.5" (4 ohm) First off, I have a handheld oscilloscope which I have used to set my gains using a 1kHz 0dB test tone as follows: -EQ flattened and loudness off on head unit -Kenwood DNX-5120 volume can be set to 35/35 without any noticeable clipping, however I set my listening limit to 34/35; at this volume roughly 2.3 VAC is coming from the RCA's, howev…

Alright.. i ran into these things they call line drivers.. lol.. seem's pretty simple. rca's in then rca's out and bam.. higher voltage.. is it as straight forward as that? is there anything to watch out for? i see several brands including pheonix gold, rockford, hifonics and audiocontrol.. Do you guys use them? if so what are your thoughts? Just trying to get an idea of these things from all of you before i go out and buy one. cause so far its got my attention... thanks for any info you guys have.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. In an instance where a persons deck only allows you to turn up the sub only soo much but you want it louder, in order to make it louder, rather than turning your amps gain up excessively damaging your subs you'd use a line driver. Correct?

Hi i have a Trailblazer SS with Bose and Nave. I used to use the Pac Aoem gm-24 but i did not really like the output with it. I am interested in going with a different one. I know people probably are going to say just get a new HU but i would prefer to keep the stock one. I have been looking at MTX re-q 3 or 5 but i am open to anything you think would work the best. thanks

I'm getting ready to help a friend out with adding an aftermarket sub and amp to her 2008 Ford Edge. She is keepint the stock H/U. She bought a Stinger Line Output Converter (SLOCII). It a two channel LOC and I'm installing it into a Zed Minilith. Now the Minilith requires that all four input channels have RCA connected to get full signal (6db less for each RCA that is not plugged in I believe). The Stinger converter has five connectors 2 each for + - and a ground. I'm installing an Alpine Type S 2+2ohm to the Amp. Here is my question... I cannot just plug in the factory harness to the Stinger unit (It has 2 channels and all I need is one). How do I connect this sucker? …

I need some info on these things..I've ALWAYS added an after market head unit to all my vehicles in the past. I've always though that is the best way if you want a good system. Well, I have the chance to uby an 08 Cadillac cts. Clean as hell and would be by far the nicest vehicle I've ever owned...but I'm a bass head. So questions would be.. If a clean sounding, hard hitting system is my goal will the LOC be the wrong purchase? Maybe I have the wrong idea about these things? If an after market setup was available I wouldn't even be typing this but as far as I can tell it doesn't exist. Appreciate anything you guys can add to this, its killing me that not being able to pu…

Just seen these Tenergy LiFePO4 SLA Style Battery 12.8V 20Ah at parts express by my house and wondering if they would be any good for car audio. Iv been seeing people using the juicebox lithium batteries and the 40 ah one is $1500 . So just trying to see if 2 of these would be the same. Really trying to cut down on weight and my van build and this would help out alot rather than having 500 plus pounds just for batteries
