I just noticed the other day that when I hit the nav. button on my 8120 it just goes to a black screen. The rest of the 8120 seems to be working perfectly.... except for the blacked out nav. screen. I know that the Garmin nav. on the 8120 is hard drive based so I'm wondering if the HD has crashed or died..... I tried resetting the unit but still no luck. Anyone else run across or heard of this issue before? I'm calling Kenwood on Monday but just looking for ideas first.

  2. So I need some more power, I did my research and decided to go with Mechman, Called him up and can start by saying his customer service was top notch, hes very friendly and easy to talk to, answered every question I had for him. Heres some photos of the install. It was very straight forward and easy to install, I give the service and product a A+ and would reccomend it to anyone. Yes I know its dirty under the hood but I had no time to clean it so on with the photos =] Stock Alt removed the plastic engine cover Pulled the OEM Alt moved a couple things and the re-install starts another shot all back together and the test Once again I couldent be happier with the eas…

Alright so my Fi 12 D2 q should be arriving tomorrow. I arleady have my Sundown Saz 1000D. I've been reading as much as I can on here so I just want to make sure I have everything straight. Wiring my sub to 1 ohm I need to take the positive's and run a wire from one to the other andsame for the negatives. Then take a wire from one of the pos and neg's and run them to the amp. I noticed the amp has 2 sets of speakers inputs A & B. I would hook my sub up to one set correct A or b? As for setting up the amp I have a Alpine CDA-9884 it has a subwoofer level 0-15 if I understand this I put the subwoofer level to 15, bass to 0. Take 1000wRms x 1ohm load, Square root of 1…

I came across Powersurge batteries on the net and after reading over the page and talking to the owner they seem to be pretty legit batts. Im posting this because I want to hear from people who have used them, knows someone who has used them and so on. What do you think of these batts? Legit? Pros? Cons?

I was planning on getting two of these for the 2 BTL 12s Im getting but I looked at the pix and I didnt really notice any fans, does that mean I have to be weary of over heating? Ive had problems with amps doin that before. Also would it have a pretty good or just eh sound quality? Id be using it in a daily set up so yea.

hey everybody, a buddy of mine is looking for a decent/good quality amp to use for his daily driver. Hes running 2 Kicker CVX 15s, looking for around 4000wrms. He found a Powerbass that can do 4000wrms @ 1 ohm... just looking for some general feedback on these amps performance wise...do they put out what they say they do? Are they reliable amps? etc etc Thanks!

I was checking out this amp. I remember hearing nothing but good things about their stuff years ago, nothing recently. but I hadnt heard of SSA, sundown, Fi, or... either seen it usually for 260 and up, ikesound has it for 199. Ive seen ratings listed anywhere from 990-1150 watts RMS into 1 ohm. their website as a link to there amps but is loading a blank page for me right now, so I also cant find out if it has a SSF? they any good? put out true ratings? underrated?

I,m looking at the saz 1500 or 2000 . but my cousin say s i would need electrical up grades with the 2000 and not the 1500. on another forum i read even the 1500 needs electrical upgrades. is this true and if so would it be major? Also i want to run one deep and loud 15 ported , I like hdc3 but aluminum coils need too much power. any other suggestions?

  16. Ok, so basically a gain is this : the voltage from the RCA wires is say 250mV, and the amp takes that and does its thing which would amplify it by say 90dB, which means the subs would be receiving 250mV * 90dB, whatever that is.. and then introducing the gain just increases the voltage from the RCA to the amp so the amp would perceive the RCA to be sending a higher voltage, say 250mV * 10dB of gain, which the amp would then amplify the 250mV * 10dBof gain * 90dB which would then hit the speakers.. Is that correct? All the numbers are just random, just tryin to see if I got the idea..

My question has to do with the bypass. If I were to bypass by grounding the parking brake sensor will my rear view camera work? If so which wire am I supposed to splice on to under the dash? I do not need the color wire although that would be helpful but which wire am I supposed to be looking for?

In testing for competition, MECA enforces fuse sizes for specific divisions in your class. In testing, if you are trying to pull 2-3x the fuse rating of your inline fuses.. and they keep popping, can that damage the amp? I haven't started yet but i was thinking the amps would be susceptible to low voltage conditions at high volume when the fuses pop and could eventually cause damage, maybe immediately. Is this true?

So I was demoing my Sundown 1500 amp to some guys, and thought I may have heard something that sounded like some slight whirring. I didn't think it was anything to worry about as everything was sounding fine, I turned everything off and turned off the car. When I started up the car the next time: nothing. Checked all fuses, they were fine. Not even going into protect. Any ideas? It is quite hot out there today, as well.

  25. Hello, I've been searching for a long time but what I found seems to be too light : not enough power when I burn it on a cd! Can you give some links, please? at least a 50 Hz test tone for the sub, and a 1000 Hz one for the speakers. BTW, do you all set the gains like that, or can you use some music instead ? Thanks
