Only thing i can think of is shaving them down.. Then i saw another thread were it was lots of + runs and only 1 - run , which seems pointless if the power has to flow in and out.

  4. I've got a P3002 that was missing the chrome cover when I bought it. I've searched all over, RFs site, watched ebay for about a month and never seen one. Anyone know where I could find one, or maybe point me in the right direction? Obviously its just cosmetic, but I'm in the process of a major rebuild, and am going to have my amps showcased, so it would be nice to have the chrome cover for it. Thanks for the help.

  6. I just purchased two Boston Acoustic G512-44 12"s for $400 shipped in a closeout sale from Crutchfield. I'm a link! Their specs are... Min. ported box volume: 2.00 cu. ft. Mounting depth: 7-3/8" I picked these up because they're CHEAP & require a small enclosure; (I want to keep max trunk space.) I've heard clips of them & they sound crisp & hit de…

  10. I would like to ask this question as a thought experiment to determine if I am properly understanding the following relationships with wiring and power. Our speakers get AC out of our amps and our amps get DC from our power system. The DC power does not have frequency as it is a single flowing direct current and as such the flow of electrons through any wire have ZERO skin effect as skin effect is only applicable with frequency of transmission. What does play a part in power capacity however is the material of which the wiring is made of and how it is made. The total measured DC resistance of a cable of X size will be lower in copper material than it wi…

Ok here's my problem. Whenever I turn up my Head unit (New Sony Xplode) past a certain point my amp will shut off. As long as I have my amp turned pretty far down it wont do it. But I feel like I'm being robbed of the potential of my speakers. I thought that maybe it was the amp so I took my other amp out of my other car and it did the same thing but even quicker cuz it's a 900w Lanzar and the other one is a American Pro 600w. I've checked all of the connections way to many times and never found any problems. Someone told me that the ohms has to match up on the amp and on the subs but i've never heard of that. If any one has any ideas please let me know i would app…

How would you figure this out? Ac/dc / ac/dc? Running a mmats D300hc in a 2 cu. Sealed enclosure. Not supposed to run the mmats below 1 for daily driving, so want to know how I'm doing so, is this the cheater amp its made to be? Drawing lots of current lol, voltage drop. Don't want to dmg the amp, rewiring it to 4 and making a larger ported I guess.

So the fan was not working off my Memphis 16pr1.5kd so I pulled it out and opened it up. Two lines lead from the fan area to a potentiometer. Then looking around some more I find three pins with a jumper across two. Next to that says subsonic on and off. I don't have any adjustment for a ssf on the outside, but could this be set to "on" then the potentiometer used to adjust the it? Or is this potentiometer linked to the fan somehow? I'll be checking to see if the fan works as I've pulled that out. If someone could link or send me a layout of this board that would be helpful, thanks! Edit: also the potentiometer is labeled vr1 while the adjustments on the outsid…

Serious issue going on with my system, and I know it's gotta be my electrical..... just need some advice on where to go. I've only had my system in since April, and I've noticed at times that my front stage will suddenly begin losing treble, then volume. I turn it down and it recovers pretty quickly, within a minute..... but will do it again if turned back up. I have not upgraded the electric at all.... was hoping I wouldn't need to being that I'm not pushing a lot of wattage. Amp is a Kenwwod7005PS 5 channel..... manual says it pulls 56 amps. I'm guessing my Scion xB 80 amp alt just isn't enough...... but would doing a big 3 help this??? (I have some 4 ga left over from …

How would this amp be for two TC-7's. http://tcsounds.com/tc7.htm Should I consider something else? I am going to run it at 1ohm, so I think this will be good. But, any other amps better for under 300? I really dont want to pay more then that.

  24. i put in my new 200 amp from the group buy at ca.com forums. when over 950 rpm or so, it is awesome, rarely ever drops from 13.5 volts and when it does, not under 13. (going by my dash gauge anyhow) under 950 though, the voltage will drop almost to the red, to around 9.. red is at 7.5 or 8. having the stereo up drops it almost another half volt. either way, that is way low voltage. i could just turn my idle rpm up to 950 but it would burn more gas, and i like the rumble of a healthy v8 idling around 700 rpm. i do not have my optima yellow top in yet, waiting on terminals. im using an old, cheap, autozone battery, with 4 gauge run to the back split into 2 8 gauge wires. …

Hi everyone, I'm looking to finish the big 3 in my car. I already have a 0 ga wire from battery - to chassis. My alternator is difficult to reach. I must "lift" the car to reach it under the motor. My question is : can I take a point anywhere on the engine block and ground it to the chassis of the car (with a 0 ga wire) ? (I know !). That would be the third part of the big 3. I have a stock alternator, maybe the (+) alt to (+) battery part is not a "must do" part for me. Another question : I have one 0 ga wire with ring connectors, and one 2/0 marine grade wire with ring connectors too. Which one would you choose for the battery to ground, and for the engine block to g…
