I can get both amps BNIB for ~900.00 shipped. of the two which would you pick? I know you would automatically think the BC5500 because of the 1000 rms difference, but based on clamp results, I've seen Sundown amps do very close to this at 1ohm. FWIW my mids and highs amps are Sundown and it would be nice to match BUT it's not the end all be all of my decision as they won't be seen. this is not a VS thread, I know they are both stout amps, this is more of a poll to tip the scales as I'm pretty much even in my decision and it would be nice to get some fresh perspectives and maybe others will know something that I don't about each amp.

my alternator has 110 amps and i have a sundown saz2000d and getting the xcon...yah.. gonna get a beefier bat in the front and a decent size in the rear. how many amps u guys putting out on your alternator and how many watts u pushin out of your amplifier?

as the title says I need a downloadable users manual for the cda-7949. Alpine doesn't have them or pac parts. I'd be glad to pay for copied one of you have it. All help appreciated. Thanks, Joe. P

OK!!! I'm doing a electrical upgrade, I have a HO alternator and Hyperflex 0 ga. wire. can't find a crimping tool big enough to crimp the the wire. What can i use to crimp the terminal to the wire??????

hi, i have this amp : KOIILER XM-6666 2CH 420W and i want to add to my 2001 bmw x5 , i have one each door 2 speakers -1 bigger size regular oem speaker) and 1 a smaller size (twitter oem) and also on the top dash i have 2 twtters oem's and i see in trunk that i have all wires coming there, i also have a box with 2 speakers (it looks that is the sub-woofer) so now how should i connect all this to my above amp with out burning those twitters ? the head unit in front that i am using is the new dynavin e39a (d95) from dynavin[dot]com let me know ,any advice! thanks

I was going through some boxes of my old belongings and stumbled upon my old school Autotek stash. A 7050 BTS, 7100 BTS and a 7003X electronic crossover. I do not have any other information on these gems (I do know they were made by Zed Audio), and there is very little on the internet about these. I contacted MaxxSonics and was emailed a owner's manual, however it was missing a few pages. I'd appreciate any information anyone has to share about these. Other then having to purchase some new Molex connectors for the speaker wires, I'm looking to put these back in service. Now if I could only find a box with a stash of 9050's or 9100's....

Is it possible that the 900 d can out do the memphis amp? Thinking about going all powerbass. Switched from my f-150 to a xterra. 3db jump to a 144.5. Hoping to get better going with all powerbass. Thanks

here is how i have everything set up as u can see i dont have the amp and cap ground to the chasis could this be why i might have a ground loop i could make them all seperate grounds or i can tell him to buy a ground loop isolator and he only has 1 amp hes just running component speakers but hes also running one of these behringer 15s http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-B215XL-Titanium-Speaker-Standard/dp/B002P3RYXG that is hooked up to this for power i have that thing hooked up to the battery and them rcas go from the headunit to the amp to the behringer its sounds good except we are getting the noise

can anyone recommend me a decent budget amp for an xcon? I've been getting a lot of tickets I don't have money for a sundown right now.. any feedback is appreciated.

I have been thinking that I want a pretty decent size (1000WRMS) maybe up to 1500 but I want a Mono block amp that will do a 1 ohm load and like it! Would this amp meet this criteria! It says 1200W RMS and I have heard some decent stuff on these amps but not enough to know if they have the Power they say! FI BTL 15" dual 2 ohm, wired to 1 Rockford t1500bd The birth sheet wattage is 1700, so after calculation the voltage output should be 41.23. I tested with a dmm to find the voltage and at this level the sub is not as loud as a btl should be. also the amp gets to this 41.23 volts with no punch eq, and very little gain. could anyone explain this because this sub should take all the power of this amp and then some but is not sounding like a btl right now. with twice the voltage output the sub still sounds good, is loud, but the amp gets extremely hot.

So I was just about to buy the AudioControl lc2i and I saw that it has "2 speaker-level inputs with 400 watts RMS power handling". I have 2 crescendo bc2000s and going to have 1 crescendo c1100.4. I won't be using them all at full output, but somewhere around 3.2k rms all together. Does that mean it can be hooked up to speakers that are getting up to 400 rms or does it mean that it can only support amps up to 400 rms. I looked at reviews to see if others have used with more power and they were all under 600 rms. I didn't see any other LOCs that support more power. Will the lc2i work? Looking at the Audio Que 20 amplifier... and am wondering about the power claims they are making. I'm going as basic as you can get... the amplifier has 3 sets of 0 gauge power inputs. They claim the amplifier can consume up to 2,000 amps of current and over 1,000 amps of current consistently. Yet 100% ofc 0 gauge wire is rated around 250-350 amps of current up to 10'. Just looking at this, how can the amp be provided with the proper amperage at the correct voltage with enough inputs to only accept 750-1050 amps of current? Just wondering. Thanks for the help.

So I was browsing eBay for an amp to power my gf's Dcon coming in within the next day or two, and I came across this... LANZAR 800 W 2 Channel High Power MOSFET Amp VCT2010 Now before I'm flamed for even mentioning lanzar on SSA, realize that this is for my gf's car, not anything major. Just some bass on a budget.. (Good budget 10" sub) My question: Would this be something optimal for my situation? It says it's 2 ohm bridgeable, @ 800 watts, so in reality, about 400-500 watts. The sub is a D4. I could wire in parellel into a 2ohm load and bridge to this amp and have it powered about right for it's RMS rating. For the price, I didn't think this could be that bad.. especia…

Alright got my system all ready to go and wired for tuning. First i set my gains using an oscilloscope on my sub mono amp. All went well. Then i set my gains on my 4 channel amp. All went well. I plugged in the speakers, and i am getting high pitch scratching noises that vary and change intermittently. When I turn off the subwoofer rca output from the headunit to the rear, the sub no longer gets any signal obviously.. but if i have rcas plugged into the 4 channel amp...... the sub then starts playing music! could this be my twisted pair rca cables? should i switch to coaxial?

i work at a shop and have a customer who wanted to buy a large power amp. none of our main dealers have anything in his wattage range. so.. down for sound has a JP53 that calls for 600 amps of fusing... then we have a tara amp thats calling for 209 (music) 419 amps sine. both claiming 5KW of power. 120 - 390 amps of difference is (any way you slice it) a massive change in electrical system demand. why would anyone buy a ...? is tara incorrect? bottom line - im digging into efficiency numbers that ive never really had to care much about when working with 500-1500w JL and rockford amps...

Hi Just want to know a few things that remain unclear to me. Since I do not plan on running 18s anymore, will only run 2 12s (XCON, ZCONS or maybe BTLs) with probably a Sundown 3500D. Should I bother using 2/0 gauge for power and ground? I was about to purchase Kolossus Fleks 0 ($100) kit but just want to make sure I wont be in the "border line" when it comes to powering my amp. Also, will the Kolossus Fleks 0 handle a Sundown 4500D? Just in case if I decide to upgrade to that in the future. Im reading here http://www.bcae1.com/fuses.htm that 0 gauge only handles a fuse up to 325 amps. That means with a voltage of 12.6 you get 4095 watts. Thats 500 watts short of the 4500…

Alright, going a little old school here. Someone locally is selling a Visonik 4000xd. Im looking to compete in the dbdrag street trunk class and need a 4000 watt amplifier. Are these amps any good? Iv read some mixed reviews.. Some saying they are very power hungry and im just not sure if its worth buying or not. Anyone have experience with these things?

I know there numbers but would like to know,of any personal opinion's which one and why
