was connecting my UV neon , with the cig lighter in my car , suddenly it smoked up , n smelled like burned plastic, suddenly it went off, and when i touched it it was very hot... any idea , why did that happen ?? pluse the neon wasnt underbody or anything , it was inside the cabin, n no water or any liquid can reach it .. thnx for any helpful ideas

This was all caused by a loose connection. I had a shunt in between the battery and the amp so I could watch the current draw at all times. The connection on the amp side of the shunt got a little loose, and well it pretty much melted the wire into one big strand. I didn't shoot a picture of the connection, but you could tell it got hot. I know that the piece looks like Solder, but I assure you 110% it was CCA KNU wire. This time I'll tighten it up a little more And I cut another 3/4 inch further, I don't know what temperature it got to, but it made it to whatever temperature turns a copper ring terminal black with green and white corrosion.

I was hoping someone could help me out trying to figure out where to get this part other then woofersetc . (NAKAMICHI RCA 3PIN CONNECTOR) They charge $50 for a $2.00 plug in . Is this something that nakamichi head units use only? I have never seen the rca from the back of a car head unit like this . So i am not to familiar with many brands so i would like a few options out there on some amps. What i am looking for is something that is cea rated at 13.8v. I don't need that much power i need 500watts either at 1ohm or 4ohm rated. What i am powering is a single sundown 10" e-series. Reason i need a amp rated at 13.8 is because its going in a 2012 corolla and toyota seems to regulate at a lower voltage which is around 13.8.

just got an 07 tahoe so getting all my things together to make a buy. what head unit do u guys recommend that has nav and back up camera. looking for around 500 bucks. i have an android phone btw. truck is non bose what parts will i have to buy for the factory parts to work. pac? i was going to go with knukoncepts rca and power wires. any other options? subs to be installed are 2 12 ssa icons and sundown amp.

As the title states, I need to get my hands on a decent but not overly expensive amp that can do 1000WRMS @ a 2 ohm load. I have a older Fosgate 1000.1BD which would work real good im sure since it makes its power right at 2 ohms but its a little screwy and im not going to waste my patience on that pos lol. The Audiopipe 15001D caught my eye even thought it makes its power @ 1 ohm its not far off with 950w @ 2 ohms. Anything else out there I should look into? more is always better but the vehicle has a stock electrical system so running this D1 Sub at 0.5 isnt an option at this point lol

I have two 12" Kicker L7s on a PA 2400DB, which does about 1400W. My subs are dual 2 ohm and im looking for an amp that does at least 1600 clean watts. Or anything yall would recommend to make these things beat. Don't get me wrong though these things do hit hard. I have a sealed box now, but i may want to go to a ported box. What do yall think the cubic ft. and tuning should be for 2 12" L7s. (I listen mostly to rap) Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for an amp that will push (2) DD3512E's to either close to the max, or max them out. Any suggestions that will give me that amount of power at 1ohm? I'm running two D4's jumped down to a 1 ohm load. System is stock right now, I plan on getting the big 3 done...and another battery. I cant upgrade the alt by much, only up to 120 amps

So I have Audison Voce tweeters, mid range & mid bass on my challenger & need help choosing a 6 channel amp & also have audison bit one on vehcile. Was looking at the arc audio xdi 1200.6 or mosconi one 6ch series but the arc audio has more wattage & its cheaper.

I just installed a 10" xcon that can either be wired at .5 or 2 ohms. It is currently running on a jl audio jx 1000.1 so 1000w at 2 ohms but I really want to get a 2000w 2ohm amp. Having trouble finding a reliable amp that puts that power out at 2 ohms without breaking the bank!! Not sure if my electrical could handle .5 or id give that a shot.. I drive a mazda tribute stock 110 amp alt and stock battery... Don't really think I can do over 1000 @ 0.5ohm

Finally got my BTL 18" reconed!!! only have a hifonics 1600 watt pushing it but when i try to blast it the amp cuts off because its ran at .75 ohms. but anyways, just wonderin if anyone has a american bass 150.1 for sale.....

I've had bought a WMD18 from Pierce audio and my ed nine.1 amp clipped and kill my sub within 15 minutes , i'm pissed THE fucked off. I'm fed up with eDs Bull shit i need a real amp. Hello, A friend of mine is asking me what can he chose for his new amplifier. He compete in spl, but want to play music too, so I think he should not get an amp to play at 0.5v daily. He has 2 18" subs (I guess Soundstream) with VC of 1.2 ohms. He can have a load of 0.6 or 2.4 for each sub, so 1.2 ohm for both. He will keep on upgrading the electrical system, but already has some AGM batteries in the car. I just thought about Stetsom amps. What brand should we look for ? What amps ? budget : let's say $1500 for amps. He will have shipping and custom taxes to pay. He's in a hurry, because the next local comp is on 02/20/2011. If you need more info, just ask. Aight, I'm in need of a cheaper ( sub $200 perferably ) head unit. I need this for my little river yacht. I need something with excellent radio reception being the primary focus. I can deal with no frills or anything else. I only have ( still working on them actually ) a pair of 6 1/2 co axials in the boat. I don't need any kind of processing or any of that. Just need to get decent reception in the middle of BFE Any ideas what manufacturer has the best reception ?

Well, I'm pretty set on buying a new clarion HU. It doesn't have the most flexible crossover built-in so I will need an electronic crossover to go with it. The main feature I need is having the ability to do a 3-way(high,mid,(possible future midbass), sub) setup with the mids lowpassed at 2+ khz frequency. My midbass amp(Eclipse XA2000) only goes up to 500hz so I need to find something. I'm willing to go up to $500 but hopefully I can save a few bucks. Right now, I'm lookin at the digital units but they are pricy. Any other cheaper solutions to this? I'm looking at audiocontrol but having a hard time finding online dealers(not many local and pricy) and Memphis but can't …

Looking for a quality amp that can push about 1200 - 1500 actual RMS @ 2 ohms. Class D and smaller design prefferred, mono block. This is for my L7 sub Been looking at the new Kicker amps. i like how small they are, and are CEA certified but want to see if i could find better out there. Also checked out Sundown 1500D amp but tests show only pushes 985 watts @ 2 ohms actual output. Hard to find amps with proper real world ratings.

Hello there! I have been looking for a new head unit for over a year now. Im picky tho. I want a good one (of course) double-din,am/fm, cd, usb all that stuff. Rear rca's and all, I want to be able to change the light colors. Ive spent a good bit of money matching all my interior lights and i dont want the head unit to be different. I also want a remote. Ive had good experiences with clarion in the past, but the guy at the local audio store says clarions quality has gone down a lot. Ive been looking at some jvc's, but im not sure there quality is any better now then it was a few years ago. Im trying to stay in the $200 range. Any suggestions? P.S. I dont care for flip out…
