Im getting a second battery soon for my truck and i was wondering how to install it. I know you wire positive to positive ans neg to neg but after i wire the batteries together do i run a wire from the second batteries neg to the ground spot on the amp? And i just wire the 2nd batts positive to the power on the amp right? I also plan on grounding the alt case, and both battery negs to the frame. Good idea?

i bought http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLE12BL knu 12 gauge and my question is do I split the wire into two or do I wrap them together. Or is one tube for positive and the other negative? so like instead of two wires running to my amp I will have one then at the amp I will split it into two by separating the 2 chambers?

as of now my gains are set to the max preout voltage of my headunit (just got a dmm the other day), so pretty conservatively. but now that I am going to set them more aggressively with the dmm, i want to make sure not to send a clipped signal to either my mids or subs, but for both, i'm going to be using the full rated RMS of my amps. so my question is: is there any way to know if my amps will be able to do rated without clipping? if you just have to guess based on the amps, the amps are: a TMA 320.4 (4-channel from JL's entry level brand) and a Massive P1000.1 (at 4 ohms) no, i don't have an O-scope

ive been looking at these amps and i saw something about them in another forum i dont remember which one but by the fuse ratings these don't look like that bad of amps at all...ive only saw like 2 to 3 online stores that carry them so they must be fairly new Here is an 8000 Watt amp for $669 http://www.rickiesdiscountelectronics.com/...fier-21714.html and a 3 channel Class A/B & Class D Hybrid Amplifier for $499.99 http://www.rickiesdiscountelectronics.com/...fier-21716.html 2900 watt mono amp for 269.99 http://www.rickiesdiscountelectronics.com/...fier-21715.html These seem to be decent amps if you look at the fuses on them...it looks like they would do the power the…

if im wrong feel free to help in anyway. i assume i would need to upgrade my alternator, just a givin. then add about 3-4 batteries that output that voltage while using a device that seperates the batteries in the back from the one under the hood, but also charges the batteries in the rear. of course whole car can not be ran anything more than 14 volts on a 12 volt system(14.4 was the most i seen but i could be wrong) so the battery under the hood would be different than the one's in the rear. and could anyone fill me in about the missing link module, i know its not good to charge the batteries on 15.4 volts but i think it has a button to switch between from 15.4 to 14.4,…

when you set your gain with a dmm it says take the amps rms and multiply it by the impedance of the sub. so say you have a 2 ohm dvc sub and you wire it down to a 1 ohm load. do you take 1 ohm or 2 ohms and multiply it by your amps rms then sqrt it?

I was doing some thinking.. Taken from http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wire_calculator.asp quote: Because music is dynamic in nature, it will be easier for the amplifier to reproduce than test tones. Our testing has shown that it is typical for an amplifier to consume on average roughly 50% of its maximum input current on such. If it is consuming 50% of its max input current on average, isn't it correct to say that when playing music, the amp might have peak outputs of up to 3000Wrms, but on average, might only give out 1500Wrms (over the length of an entire song).. so from that theory, isn't a 3000Watt amplifier better suited to play a 1500Wrms sub?? thoughts?

Hi everybody, I'm getting rid of my rear speakers : I can't hear them with my 15" Icon playing! I will only keep my Focal 165 KP front speakers, but I don't want to go active. What should I do? Keep my current 4 channels amp and bridge it to the Focal? (This amp puts out 2*225 watts rms) Or sell it and buy a 2 ch amp (to save some power , and maybe some space and weight) I was looking at the Sundown amps : 125*2 or the 100*2. What do you think? What would you do?

Anyone here ever tried to bypass, defeat, or remove the on-board x-over on an amp(class D specifically). My head unit can take care of this function. It would be nice to have up front control.

I have a pair of Alpine Type-R's dual 4 ohm version. I currently have them parallel to a 2 ohm load at the amp. I fear as though my amp sucks (i know this for a fact its a Volfenhag). My question to the amp gurus is what amp i should use for the pair. I could always parallel the remaining wires to a 1 ohm load to a mono block. Wondering what kind of amp would be the best. I recently have gotten an old school amp and when i hooked it up on monday everything sounded great. Yesterday i go out and start play i hear a buzzing/static sound coming from the driverside. so I turn up the volume and did a fade from left to right and the sound was only coming from the driver side. I went and cut the speaker wire and ground wire to give it a fresh end and it that seemed to stop it. An hour later went out the sound was back so i swaped the rcas around took channel ones rca and plug it into channel two and vice versa. Im going out now to see if that worked and ill let u know.... nope it is still ther but it seems to get softer as it plays but as soon as…

Okay I am some what new to this forum. I have been reading it for quite some time now and see that everyone is pretty helpful. I have a couple of questions about the Fi Audio Btl 18. I see that it comes in dual 1 or dual 2. Well I have a kicker sx 1250.1 and it does about 1310 at 1 Ohm. I was thinking about getting another one and strapping them to power just one fi audio btl 18. Well from what I have read strapping the two kick sx 1250.1 amps together will give me a 2 0hm load which I unfortunately do not want but do you think I can connect either a dual 1 or dual 2 to the amps with out effecting the sub or the amps. I figured if anything it would effect the amp since I …
