ok i think i got it. check out the diagram, and tell me if its right. i heard that alot of amps will output a low freq or pop for a second when you turn the amp on, and to use a cap on each channel to not allow that freq. to get to my tweeters. the nominal load of each channel after i wire it up will be 1.5 ohm. so according to WinSD or whatever it is, it say that a 68uF 100V cap (with the 1.5 ohm load) will not let any freq under 1000ish Hz pass through that cap. is that right? i also have the Coustic XM6 (just ordered) which is 18dB per octave, and then the HPF on my amp is 12dB per octave, does that make my overall slope for the tweets 30dB? plus does the cap still add…

so I was just curious, as to the pros and cons of either amp... or what US amp would compare to a sundown, or if the even can be compared... I just keep hearing from a buddy, who seems to know more than me about car audio, that the old US stuff is hard to beat.

I had my front speakers running off of an old school Sony XM-2252HX, another one for the rear, and another for the subs...three in total. I decided to consolidate amps, and figured the Cadence F100-5 would be enough for my Image Dynamics CSX65CS components...christ was I wrong! Going from 225w down to 100w just isnt cutting it, my mid bass and highs are seriously suffering. I'm picking up a line driver tomorrow, as I have always needed one...I simply was able to crank up the gains more on the Sony's and get the desired outcome (factory headunit, spliced some rca's onto the line out). So, here is my question...I am desiring a 5-channel amp that is around 175-250rms on the …

So I sent in my alternator for repair and the message he sent me was, The rectifier was overheated and the rotor was open (this alternator design is very compact) I have everything broken down for a full rebuild other then the stator now. The stator is in perfect shape still and was never overworked. Just waiting on the parts to install them. So I don't know much on the process it takes to rebuild my alternator sui could someone she some light on this message he sent me.

I've got a '03 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ, with a stock battery and 150amp alt. If I run a SAZ 1500d with my DC 15, will my stock electrical system be able to handle this? Or should I install a second battery in the back? Big 3? Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Looking for some help with what to put my settings at, I understand most of them, but not all of them. Was hoping you could give your educated opinions on what to set my equipment to. The equipment I am working with is a JL 250/1 (powering two American Bass 12's), an American Pro VS1407 (powering two pairs of Planet Audio 6.5's) and a Blitz 2-way crossover (has a remote bass knob with sub gain and frequency sweep). These are all the settings available to mess with. JL 250/1 Full/Low/High LP Filter Mode/Slope - Off/12dB/24dB - 40Hz - 200Hz Bass Control Infrasonic Filter - Off/30Hz - 0dB - +15dB Amp Input Input Voltage - Low/High Signal Sensing …

I have a friend that's willing to work on a damaged eclipse 3242 that I have. He needs parts and can't find what he needs in the US. Here's the email I got from him, which is all Greek to me. If you know of a place to get these in the US let me know. Or if you know of an equivalent part I can use instead, that would be great. Hey Mospec is the company name. From what I found its a russian company that might not be arround anymore. I found a company that has F20C10A and F20C10C and the spec's say they are the same. but im not fully sure....both are SwitchMode Dual Fast Recovery Power Rectifier, 200V ,12A, 65c -150c, 3pin TO-220AB I.C's. You need 2 of each just to make sur…

I finally installed my Eclise CD-8445 and I'm loving it. However, I don't quite understand how the parametric equalizer works. It's a 7 band eq, I can change the gain of each frequency range...I get that much. How do I know what frequency to set each "section" of the eq to? Each section has three frequencies to choose from and I don't know what to select. On a side note...anyone know how to fade the sound to the front? Can't seem to find a way with the Advanced/Pro mode on. Thanks in advance

hey guys, i joined like 5 years ago and used to troll back when fxn and some of the other explorer sites were still around. Since, then I have gotten a different truck, 2006 GMC Canyon, and now comes the system addiction. In my explorer I was running a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 amp to 2 Adire Audio Shiva mark !V's. However after about 2 months the amp fried somehow and I swapped to a RF amp and it is still running strong even though I know longer have it. The point of this post is that I want to put a system in the new truck, with either a few 8's or some shallow 10's and I would love to be able to use this PG amp since I know i can get it fixed. However, is it too…

I've been having a small problem with my in-line fuse. at first I had a 80 amp tube fuse in a fuse holder, under the hood. One day my subwoofer stopped working, so I pulled over to see what was wrong. My fuse holder was melted with the fuse inside. So I bought a new fuse holder and put a 40 amp tube fuse in it. Then 2 days later after playing my system loud for 10-15 min. I blew another fuse. I never had this problem before. I have noticed that at times the inside of the fuse will be glowing hot. Is this normal for a fuse to glow? Anyway if anyone can tell me what can be going wrong here, let me know. I have a soundstream Tarantula TR880/2, with 4GA wire hooked up. Ibelei…

Okay I just upgraded my 4 Guage to 0 gauge , me and my buddy both wired our cars, his car for some reason wouldn't start. He thought it was his battery, anyways my car worked fine, about 12 hrs later I go to start my car and it will not start, its not my battery, I checked it and its at about 12.5 volts, I unhooked the main source and still nothing, any ideas of what it could possibly be??? Sensors, relays, fuses etc.
