Could I run a single yellow top as a starting battery and run a ~1500w system off of it?

Currently I've got a P3002 and two Memphis twelves and a Memphis 15. I'm planning on upgrading my wiring to 1/0, and thinking I'll probably need an upgraded alternator. Someone in another thread said something about needing extra batteries for a T1500, I was thinking I'd be okay with the alternator. Opinions? By the way, I'm planning on ordering a BTL 18 next. I'm also looking for ideas on box design. Its going in an Explorer, so I've got plenty of room. I want the sub facing the roof and the port facing the front. Planning on making a amp rack out of some plexi too, I'll have to post some pics.

Ordered the Pio AVH-P8400BH 2 Din Deck and the MLA module. Hoping the Pio is a solid performing HU and does pretty good for me with the Ipod connection. Anyone here using one? Price I got was 475.00 new from Crutchfield with free priority shipping. Also ordered the MLA module from Missing Link, to help with my voltage maxing at 13.8. Would love to see it go up in the 14.8-15.1 range, should be good for my 3 D3400s. My EA Alt is installed and sitting at constant 13.8-14.1 so I know it's the car limiting the charging range. Should be fun playing when I get back from business. Hopefully my second sub will be there when I get back from business, and all should be good.

anyone have an older crome version that is rated to do 1200wrms @ 1ohm. how was it could it handle .5ohm burps? underratted or overrated

I'm wondering about the Orion 222 SX. Like this: I know it is rated for 22w X 2 @ 4 Ohms. Outside of that, however, I am somehow under the impression that the SX-series units would do somewhat over rated power and additionally would run at lower than expected resistance loads like the HCCA and XTR amps would? If I am mistaken about this please do correct my ignorance. If anyone knows the real output of this little guy or could maybe point me towards an installation/user's manual I would be greatly appreciative.

I picked up an Orion 2250 SX on OfferUp for $75 (happy birthday to me!). It was advertised as not-working, but it looks good visually and I thought I MIGHT want it repaired. The problem is I can't find anyone who repairs the older stuff. Amp Medics is 40 minutes from my house, but Steve stopped fixing the old ones (parts are impossible to get). DB-R stopped fixed legacy amps back in 2010. So, anyone know anyone who is willing and able to fix my Beast? (I know technically only the Orion XTR 2250 was called the Beast, but I choose to ignore that fact).

which draws more current...both would be run @ 1 ohm can the orion take .5 daily or does it need modding? its for the 12mt in the mini...i have no room for an extra battery either, nor do i want that much more weigh if i did have the room.

tomorrow is quiver on the river, a TP usaci outlaw spl event..last year i took first in my class with a 145.5 using two 15" treo ss's (yeah, the ones that claimed a rear glass in a ryan built box, helped crack my windshield[rock chip]) using a memphis st1000d...in my old dodge. well, i've got the orion in my truck at .5ohm (roughly 27-2800wrms b4 impedence rise) on a s18x...would u think that's stronger then a mojo running at 2ohms? i have a borrowed st series (i believe.it's silver chrome with the non flamed logo) sitting on my dining table. would it handle .5ohm for burps? a local world champion says the mojo is stronger at 2 ohm then the orion at .5ohm...i know he know…

Hi guys, I have an older Orion 8004 (circa 2003) that has a rather odd wiring setup. I'm not sure, but I think the remote turn-on power is the connector on the far left - with the one bank of speaker connectors. Notice the power connectors on the other side. Hey guys I am looking into buying the above listed amp (orion cobalt cs 500.5) but for some reason I can't find the specs for this amp. So far the ONLY specs I have found but NOT confirmed are RMS Power at 2 Ohms: -1 W x 50 Epinions.com - Search Results: Orion Cobalt $ 500 _5_Amplifier___Cobalt_CS_500_5 (whatever that means) and 50x4@4ohm and 200x1@ xxOHM basically if it is 50x4@4ohm that is good but if it is 200x1@4ohm that isn't good lol. so if ANYONE has better Google skills then me please help me out or if anyone can verify with past experiences or a manual that would be awesome! and here is a pic of it! thanks Kenneth

Hey people. I have a very simple question that i need answered. I have one hcca 15.2 and i have one hcca 25001 amp. I plan on buying another one of each to put in my car but just out of curiosity, both the 15.2 and the 25001 amp have been sitting up unused for quite some time, and i would like to know would that cause any malfunctioning in either of the two? I was just given an orion d2400 its powers on but goes into protect then esp then protect again. I opened it up and i dont see anything wrong no fried mosfets in fact i dont see anything fried. Still smells new im gonna have a diagnostic done on it but what do you all think is wrong

So i have an orion 300w amp model t475. it is plenty amazing! except the bass boost button just distorts but every other option is good and it seams under rated. But a while back i put it in my friends car and forgot about it. so it was pushing 1 15 and 2 6x9s and she said it just stopped...she had her friend put in an old american legacy amp that was 400w with all of the gain and hz controls ripped apart from the board........ so this 300w amp was given to me and now its back in my hand. i got home and hooked up a computer 12v supply to it and the power supplys breaker flips whenever i try to start the amp. i had just tested the american legacy amp on the same supply a …

Has anyone had experience with the Orion 2500.1dz model amplifier? I heard rumors of it running extremely hot. I want to run my two American Bass XFL 1224’s @ 1ohm and I’m kinda on the fence choosing between the Orion and Taramps MD5000.1. Any advice?

The guy has two for sale a big one and a portable one. 100 for the big one. 50 for the portable. I can't tell which one is which but is this a good deal anyways? I've been thinking about buying an Oscilloscope for a while now. What should i be looking for when it comes to buying one? What makes one durastically better than the other? For know it will be used solely for setting gains to insure minimal clipping, but I would like it to be able to do whatever else one would do with an Oscilloscope. Seeing as I'm an Electrical Engineering major I know it will most likely come in handy in my future so I would like to get one that has a wide range of uses. So what should i be looking for when it comes to the specifications of an o-scope? Thanks for your time.

I purchased an armdso nano O-Scope at a good deal, and figured I could maybe use it to tune my amp finally. I know the dmm method of tuning, but I figured why not try it with my oscope. The only thing is, my knowledge is non existent with electronics ironically. How would you tune it with a 1 probe x1-x10 with an alligator ground clip? I assume the probe just goes in the positive part of the amp to tune it, and the alligator goes on a ground source? The one I purchased does not have a 3.5mm jack with the black and red probes. Alright.. just placed my order for a 18" BTL fully loaded yesterday, i already have a Sundown SAZ1500D.. im worried its not going to be enough power.. maybe im wrong? lol.. what else is out there that isnt outrageous in price but does its job? im lookin for over a 2000 rms amp. and needs 1 ohm stability. Like i said.. maybe my sundown will work fine.. but with all the damn money im dumpin into this build as far as battery's, wires, alternator and all that good stuff, i want to really get this BTL movin.
