Would it be better to install a kinetik HC 1400 and replace my original battery or could i just add a smaller kinetik like the HC 600 and have my original battery and the kenetik. im on a budget and it would be a lesser dent in my pockets if i had the smaller kinetik also will my stock alternator be able to handle either one. or do i have to upgrade that too? im getting the hifonics brz1700.1d amp and i dont want any voltage drops, cause it already drops with a sony xplod amp

Hey guys, i seem to be having a few problems with my system just a couple days ago and i was wondering if you guys have any idea of what might be going on before i go searching for the problem myself. I have 2 12" FI Qs running at 600 watts each, so an overall of 1200. Just a couple days ago i was testing a few songs on the system, nothing out of the ordinary, everything was working fine. I've has this system for about a month now and no problems occured till recently. Then a day went by where the car was idle, and then the day after that the car wouldn't start; the battery died. I couldn't figure out what happend because the car was completely off after the day i tested …

So i already want more power. how well would a hifonics brutus bxi2008d on .5 ohms? ill be running two. alt will be a second 220 on top of my stock alt, plus one batt up front and another by the amps. maybe two by the amps. has anyone had experience with them? i cant even get mine warm at 1 ohm right now... just kicking around ideas, as this would be my cheapest way to get around 4-5k rms. otherwise i gotta buy a big amp and thats lots of money. i want s Sundown 4500 but im just dreaming there. i can afford what im proposing... thinking about sayin screw it an getting the amp this week and trying it... lol. although i really should get the batt/alt power first... anywa…

I am putting in 3 external batteries in the back of my suv. The batteries are obviously going to be grounded to the chasis. I have been confused on whether it would be better to ground the amps to the chasis as well or if it would be better to run the ground to the batteries. The batteries are each going to have 2 runs of 1/0 to the chasis. Which is a better idea?

So earlyer this summer my kicker 650.4 got a little hot and burnt up. I was a Electrical Engineering student for 2 years so I know a little about the specific components in an amp. I took it apart and saw that it was a piece I haven't worked with before and about 10 of the same one fried. This is a picture from ROE(the amp guts section). I had my friend take close ups that I'll try to post tomorrow but he is having problems with his camera so not sure. Hopefully one of you guys can tell me what these are and if i'd be able to replace them. They are the first 4 black pieces under the metal on top and bottom and maybe 3 on the next sets of 3. ok so i got a new HU and i connected everything according to what i know. my HU is a jvc kd-g820 when i plug the wires to the HU it makes a noise that you can hear is working then it stops but when i try to turn on nothing happens. my question is do i have to connect the illumination wire to the orange or to the 12v which is yellow ? since nothing happens when press any buttons

I have 2 fi SSD woofers in my 2001 Celica and the lights dim real bad every time the bass hits. I have a 2.4 farad capacitor, is that even worth putting on? or should I go for a new alternator or battery

Ok, first off to get started i have a 15" Fi SSD flatwind option, US Amps XT2000D (1000rms x 1ohm), and a pioneer headunit thats 2.2volts. i have my bass on my headunit all the way lowest it can go, and the bass boost on my amp (hookd up to remote) all the way up, then i have my subwoofer level on my HU +2 (-4 thru +4). right now my gain is about halway on my amp, is that an appropriate spot to put it or can i put it higher. i just got my sub 2 days ago so should i keep my gain low for a few weeks or so to break it in then put my gain to about 3/4.

now i could put it in the trunk or i can take out the passenger air bag, and build a lil custon enclosure for it. Other than that i'm all ears. Just need it so it cant be stolen easily, ie, brake window, take playstation.

I'l try to keep this short. Last week my p99rs remote stopped working and I thought "the batttery went quick". I bought a replacement battery, should have check the original first, but it still doesn't work. I popped it apart expecting to find nothing wrong, but instead I find a coil of wire wrapped around a spool and the spool is broken form the base with a broken wire as well. I went to the local radioshack, looking for help. The guy tthere said it looks like a choke, but wasn't sure. In a responce from pioneer the remote is $84.95 + tax + shipping. VVME QA-D1500 I hear its pretty much the same as the Audiopipe ASPM-1500 not sure how true that is. but i figure i could use it one day so ill keep it around for something to play with.

Hello. I need help selecting an amp for a Cerwin Vega 12" Stoker. My budget is $500. I had my eyes set on a Hifonics XXV- Colossus. Supposedly it's rated 1x3200@ 2-Ohms, which sounds like more than enough to power a stroker efficiently, but after some reading in this forum, the brand now sounds like borderline garbage. I also hear that this speaker requires a very large custom box, or is that also a myth? I have a 99 Crown Vic, so space is no object. Is there anyone here that builds them, or online? If not can anyone help me with specs to take to a local audio shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

how much ah of power do u think i would need to run (2) soundstream d-tower 3400 watts and (1) sundown 100.4? by the way im using kinetik cells

I am going to be running a Pioneer 80prs with front and rear RCA output for my front stage. I am going to have two amplifiers for my front stage. How do I go about my lack of RCA signal ? I know I can use a processor but is there another way to go about it and not be poor quality? Thanks for any help

Well, here is the deal: Ikesound is out of DEI 1100D5's, so when I returned mine because it wouldn't power up, they said that I can have store credit (haha), so I emailed them back and told them I want a refund. I am probably going to go with a pair of the US Amps IS series amps (IS 2200 and IS 4065). I will be splitting up the crossover on my 3 way rainbows to run the midrange and tweeter off of 2 channels and the midbass off of the other 2 channels of my amp. I have 2 long runs of rca's and 4 short pairs for what I previously planned on doing, so that is a factor. I also heard that it is bad for sq to have multiple processing devices, so that is why I am kind of wear…

So I'm not new to car audio, but I'm new to the fine tuning. Years ago, I'd wire a sub to an amp and be done with it. Now, I've found that it's a little more technical than that. Here's my issue: I'm doing the 'gain setting,' and I'm not sure how to calculate the target voltage. I read somewhere that when you run a dual 4ohm sub, you have the double the target voltage, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. The target voltage of my current sub amp is 43.8@ 4ohms, 42@3ohms and 40@2ohms. I'm running an old JL 12W3v2, dual 4ohm sub. I have it wired in parallel, so I can bring it down to 2ohms. Does that mean that my target voltage is now 80? My brain is going to start spill…

Hello, I have a older Blaupunkt Arizona head unit and has volume issues. All by itself left side channel goes silent. Also, if I adjust the volume dial it doesn't respond very well, it will start to run away in the increasing direction, I have to hit the mute button to get it to stop. I bought another new faceplate thinking that might be the problem, no effect. Still does these annoying things. Anything I can do myself? Unit not worth taking in and paying more than what it is worth. I'm an aircraft mechanic, so I can use a multi-meter and have good mechanical skills. Thanks in advance,

So basically I put the ground wire in the power input and power wire and the ground input, now my amp won't turn on, fuck me. All I wanna know is what did I fuck up or possibly fuck up? Thanks for your help..
