Hello all, I have a Sundown SAE-1000D powering a 12" AA Havoc and a 4-channel Kenwood eXcelon powering my mids and highs. With this setup I was having a little headlight dimming at high volumes. Now even after adding the Kinetik HC600 in the trunk I still have the same dimming problem; no better or worse. I am pretty sure I have it wired properly with the 2-gauge run from the battery fused at the battery running to another fuse within 18" of the HC600 then from there to the distro block. Both fuses are 150A ANL's. The only wiring difference I have from the suggested wiring in the manual is that I have it grounded to the chassis in the back as opposed to having a grou…

  4. I am going to be running, eventually, 2 BTLs off 2 Sundown SAZ-3000s. I'm throwing in a DC power AD 250 Special Purpose. DC is building it custom for my car and is the best offer I can find. Thanks Robbie. Anyways, now, the LAST THING I have to decide it what battery. I have it down to Batcap 2000(already have 1) and PM 3100. I'm going to get around 2 more for now, more later. What is better for a daily with a whole nutload of power? Could I mix and match? 2 and 2? try and get the best of both worlds? Thanks!

  8. I've always been a fan of getting an Alpine H701 with a W505, but I am scared that with the H701 being discontinued I may never find one. So I'd like to find some more options for what is available and capable of 3-way processing. Also would be nice to have a collaborative list here for those to reference to.

would you guys recommend- 1. running power from battery to the cdplayer instead of using the factory harness? 2. grounding to the fire wall or use the factory harness? deck is the clarion mentioned in my build log (the cheap one that can do active)

What amp(s) would run 18 Fi BTLs to the max? Trying to keep it around $1000 give or take. I was looking at the Hifonics XXV Goliath, but I am still not sure. What do you think?

Are the preamp sub outs on the head unit low frequency or full range then converted in the mono amp? Excuse my ignorance, I'm as "newbie" as it gets with this stuff. Basically, is there a difference in using them as opposed to line out on the 4-channel amp into the mono?

I have a friend (yeah, that's how it always starts) that says when he tunes his EQ on his head unit, he just leaves it flat across the spectrum. The only thing he ever adjusts is the crossovers on the amp(s). This is the first time I've heard of this. He says the head unit's crossover points are usually set in the wrong place so it won't get the most out of it something like that. I have a DEH-P600UB with the 7-band EQ, should I follow his advice or just tune it to what I think sounds good (no distortion, etc.)

I recently took out my big heavy soundsystem due to the weight in the back causing traction issues up front.( gonna fix that this summer i hope), but for now i took my two kinetic 1800 batteries out. I went out and bought a cheap battery maintainer thing from advanced autoparts, it says 1.5 amp maintain. My question is can i paralled the batteries together and hook both up to this one maintainer or would i need to get another. To me it seems fine, it would still be seeing 12v to maintain. Right?

I'm looking for some good coaxial speakers. I had a pair of MTX 4 ways and I liked the way they sounded alot, however I can't find them anywhere anymore. What I liked about them were they were built tough and gave me great highs with alot of detail. Who makes tough built coaxial speakers that come in 4 or 5 way 6x9s? I was looking at Pioneer 5 way 6x9s. Are Pioneers any good? I want a good pair of 5 1/4s and 6x9s. I had Kenwoods, but those sucked compared to the MTXs I had.
