i just got my head unit installed and i was wondering can i install a portable hard drive into the usb port to play my music

I have a strange problem with my hu...the remote and touch screen stop working but all the buttons on the hu itself is still working properly. what can be the problem?

Hey guys what up? I have recently start having problems with my HU that I cant figure out. Ive had it now for about 2 years and I notice last that am getting this static, popping noise when I turn my sterring wheel or turn the sub level up. I also tapped on the HU to see if I would get any noise and I did. It seems as though anytime the HU get a bit of a jolt it starts with the noise, whether its me just tapping on it, turning the steering wheel, or turing up the bass level in the truck. Any suggestions? If am leaving anything out just let me know and ill fill it in. Thanks

hey guys.. i wnt to know how to wire up the navi part of the headunit, im sure it comes with a navi unit that goes under the seat but i wnt to know how to wire and where the wires need to go from the navi to the back of the unit. please help. thanks.

Undecided on which HU to get, i want touchscreen, iPod compatible(will get the steering wheel control as well), and while im at it with gps, bluetooth is not necessary. I was looking at these two an Eclipse and a Pioneer. The Eclipse has a much bigger screen and what not, but the faceplate is the one where it moves(i've heard these tend to break/become disfunctional really quick or is taht only for the slide out ones?). While the Pioneer has a slot for discs and does not need to slide/move at all. The Pioneer also looks more "cleaner/smoother". Im not sure lol, my birthday is coming up and i know i will get some money and will need to just put liek 3-400 to get a nice HU.…

I just got a quick question. I just bought a Pioneer Avic f90bt for my 2008 scion tc. Well guys my avic's outputs took a shit today. Have a horrible alternator wine no matter what i do and its putting my 1500d into protect. Plugged up the ipod to both amps with the car running and no problems with either amp. Ive tried everything from different rca's to different remote wires and nothing seems to work. you guys got any ideas?

Walking through Target the other day I saw an interesting Pioneer box out of the corner of my eye. Not expecting to see nice head decks or anything really pioneer at target, I checked it out and found they were selling CD-IB100II iPod adapters for $14 a piece! I can't find these for less than $50 online. They had at least one left, so if anyone here needs one cheap, $14 + shipping and I can probably send you one. I love finding deals like this!

Hey guys, I've got a Pioneer DEH 4100 (as the title implies) and it's suffering from a few annoying malfunctions. 1) Sometimes it will independently skip forward through a song, but does not beep to indicate this and it seems to be a pretty random occurrence. Even if it did beep, it still pisses you off. Some of my songs suffer from different volumes, so I go from, like, Ray Charles to a goddamn Children of Bodom song at a higher volume. My ears leave my body for a time. 2) I leave my iPod plugged in via USB, and what used to happen when I'd start the car was that the head unit would automatically start the iPod up. I have an old Pioneer DEH P930 that is in need of repair. I believe it needs a new ribbon cable, but no matter...my questions center around the deck's features. One of my favorite features of the unit was it's capability to make low bass from recordings where there was none. I never checked the output on an RTA, but I would be willing to bet that the effect is that of an Epicenter, where a bass line is created one octave below the lowest notes in the original recording (if I remember reading that correctly). The owner's manual mentions an "Octaver" function and "Dynamic Bass Emphasis"... does anyone know which of these two features is creating this effect? I called…

Was curious if anyone knew if this would fit or be able to install in a 2005 jimmy. On crutchfield when I fill in my year make and model it says it cant be installed. This does not make sence to me as its not a huge double din or anything. The response only meen they don't have the kit for it? Maybe a kit for this model to work with a Jimmy doesnt exhist anymore? I don't know why a reg size deck would not work. car= 2005 jimmy 2door. Well, I got this HU brand new last year. I love it (but im gonna be gettin a DEH-P860MP when I can afford it), but for now this thing will work. However, when I turn it off, then turn it back on, it takes 13 seconds to load the CD and resume play, on an MP3 CD. I know that may not sound like a long time, but it really is. Anywayz, when I stick in a regular CD, the resume time is 3 seconds or a little less. It used to load my MP3 CD's just as fast as it does regular CD's. It started doin this for some reason for a while, then I hit it or sumthin, and it started workin fine again. But now, since I loaded a regular CD in, it started loadin my MP3 CD slowly again. I'm looking at getting a headunit to play my ipod and cds. I don't want bluetooth, or anything else like that. Having an aux input could come in handy if I want to plug in my phone (blackberry) and play music off that. So i installed the radio about 2-3 months ago now and have loved everything about it. then, on December 29th i was driving downtown and my faceplate died. I still had music but i had no control over anything. Volume didn't work, seek, station change, cd eject, AND the remote didn't do shit either. First off, i got this radio from my brother for finishing his basement so i have no actual booklet. i have downloaded the 177 page owners manual from Pioneer. i just installed the radio today in my 2004 Blazer and love it so far but... i am running component speakers and a subwoofer. i hooked it up like the manual told me to but i can't turn the sub off or fade it out. i turn it to the sub setting and try to turn it off and nothing happens, i still get bass. also, does anyone know where to get the microphone so i can time align the system? i'm going to be running the tweeters and mids active soon but i don't want to try and deal with that if i don't have the right tools…

Hello Im knew to the forum and a newbie and need some help. I got all wires connected besides 3 on the Scosche harness(orange with black line saying dimmer ground)(black with silver line saying amplifier grond)(all black saying chassis ground) 2 on the Pioneer harness(blue with a white line silver spots with a tag saying system remote control)(black with silver spots,seems to be twice as long as the others) Do I twist all 3 wires from the Scosche harness to gether and hook it to the 1 long black with silver spots wire from the Pioneer harness? Found this PioneerGM-X524 amp with two 12"jbl subs (look like pieces of crap) on craigslist for only $100. i don't really care about the subs, but i was wondering if anyone has ever used this amp and what they have experienced with it? How does it handle heat dissipation after long periods of playing? Is it low quality? Just wondering what people have experienced with it. thanks!

My pioneer 6100BT has a feature called ASR (advanced sound retriever) and i am assumeing all the newer pionner HU will have this feature also will tell you what ASR actully means and does.When i turn on the ASR feature on my HU, it makes the sound/bass in my car louder but more clear like it is supposed to do. so my question to you guys is, Would ASR act like loud/loudness feature on HU? witch you are supposed to have set to off
