Does the epicenter help increase you spl or does it just act like a bass boost where it will just cause the amp to clip. Would it be a good idea to buy one if I mainly use an ipod?

The guy has two for sale a big one and a portable one. 100 for the big one. 50 for the portable. I can't tell which one is which but is this a good deal anyways? I don't know how much I could use this or even how. But I know they're expensive. So my question is should I call him and get it now or just settle for setting my gains with a dmm or just by ear? hey guys... I have 2 1000.4 's going to my front doors . they have been sounding great, nice and clear and no distortion. I have been having some ground problems lately and had to drill a new ground. After that they were back to sounding clear and crisp. Now about a week later all the static and distortion came back to the point were I almost cnt even hear the music. I checked the ground and the ground is good. i checked the rca'a and there fine. ( I do have a few splits on my rca's and those were fine as well). I am looking to build my first system and I am a full believer in saving money but not at the expense of diminished quality. I want to get 2 15" BL's. This is in an every day driver, I want it loud but it doesn't have to be insane. I know that install is 90% of it so I am wondering how much of a difference am I really gonna see if I have Sundowns 1500 powering them or the 3000. Saying the encloser and every other factor is the same. I am thinking that since I am not looking to compete I would be spending way too much money buying the 3000 and all the extra electrical upgrades that are needed and not have that much of a noticeable difference. So far I'm loving the new system but I've noticed with some songs (the loudest) and also at idle my voltage can drop down to 12v. It always jumps back up to 13.8+ volts after the bass hits... Should I be concerned? I still need to upgrade a ground under the hood, hoping that will help a bit.

ok looking 2 a good 2k amp narrowed it down to pca200d,us md-3d or will have to just settle for a kicker1500.1 and be short some watts. whats ppls opinion first hand on these amps thanks

Honest opinon would you rather have a old punch amp or a new punch amp I have 3 of the punch 200x2 and a 60x2 and a 40x2 amp that I am planning to une in what i call a old school build in my eclipse take suggestion on what subs to use plan on usin a 200x2 on each sub and the 60 and 40 on highs any suggestions???

Alright, I need to go 4-way active with 2 sets bandpassed... I thought my only option was to run a crossover, I didn't realize the SX Kicker amps are bandpassable on every channel? I always have in the past but I'm starting to upgrade to more and more powerful systems. The price difference between a run of 1/0 from ebay, to knu conceptz, to using welding wire is a huge. Anyone know if the ebay stuff has the same copper content and adequate insulation?

ok i just got a new 9855 with 4 volt preouts and a used merlin m41 from flakko, and i go the 9855 to work, but when i hook up the amplifier, nothing, not even the power or protect light came on, but then today outta nowhere when i turn on the car, i hear this semi loud click noise, and the amp turned on and i could listen to music, but wasn't very loud, even at 20 volume. it then proceeded to shut off again, and now has no music coming from the speakers, and the amp's lights (power/protect) are off as well. i had this same problem with the last amp i had, before. and im sure when i put that one in it will have the same problem. anyone have any ideas? and i have speaker…

my question is im buying 2 fully loaded 12" fi btl's i was wondering if the sundown SAZ-3000d would be enuff power for both of the subs or should i get 2 straped i was only looking to get exactly the rms watts or close as possible or really just enuff power to make them hit nice so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've been having a small problem with my in-line fuse. at first I had a 80 amp tube fuse in a fuse holder, under the hood. One day my subwoofer stopped working, so I pulled over to see what was wrong. My fuse holder was melted with the fuse inside. So I bought a new fuse holder and put a 40 amp tube fuse in it. Then 2 days later after playing my system loud for 10-15 min. I blew another fuse. I never had this problem before. I have noticed that at times the inside of the fuse will be glowing hot. this is an old blown amp i had just sitting around. i took the case off to see whats up with it. i dont really give a crap about it. brand and model is SPL FX2-2200. i think i wired my sub to .5 on it when i just started in car audio. wondering what the burnt mark is. i kinda wana try and fix it just for fun or just rip it apart just for fun any input?

I was wondering if I should get an outside crossover and eq or combination of them for my truck, I am using the active crossover on my H/U clarion dxz-785usb, it has Digital time alignment on it and 18 db slope 3 way crossover in the deck. I am running my front channel to my tweets @ 3500 hz then running my dual 5.25 in the door of the rear channel ran @ 90hz and up then sub channel @ 90hz and below Would I improve my SQ buy adding and eq/crossover to the mix or is the head unit alone good enough. It sounds good now, just wish I had a little more control over the freq.

I can use my Deck (Kenwood KDC-MP338) manually and using the remote to change settings and stuff, but ever since i installed my amp (Mark Antony GS1000D) i can't use the remote because the remote makes it go into protect mode( it clicks). I can use all the controls manually but can't use any buttons on the remote (doesn't change anything on the deck). Any idea whats wrong?

My current car is running off the stock 80 amp alternator. I am planning on soon putting 1200 watts RMS through the system. How will I know if I need an extra battery, or new alternator, or what? Thanks.

Realistically, how big of amps can I run (D class) in total wattage on a 136 amp alternator? I checked the specs for a dodge diesel and this is what it said of the output. After looking at the number, I'm thinking I'll only be able to run one sub and to incorporate two of the channels for the sub.

Im running a rockford fosgate T25001bd wired down to 2 ohms for right now at 2 ohm the birth sheet says 2220 watts i would like to some day drop it down to 1 ohm but that will push 3250 watts and the efficiency goes down by a good amount will i be fine with the stock alt with the xs? i dont have the money at the moment to get a ho alt from dc

If you have a two channel amp and only use 1 channel for now, would all of the amps power from both channels go through that one channel being used or would it stay the same as what it is supposed to put out per channel?

Hi, im sorta new to this stuff and i had several questions that i hoped can be answered. 1. Does an amp put out as much watts(rms) as they say they do? Does this also apply to cheaper amps? 2. When do i need to run a capicitor? 3. Can subs take more power than recommended by the manufacturer? 4. If i listen to mainly rock/metal what type of box should i use? I'd like it to be loud but also feel like some child is kicking the back of my seat. Any links would be helpful, thank you.
