which of these would be the best suitable for a daily driver setup at 14.4volts & 1 ohm? Which would be the best overall in terms of efficiency, power output, reliability, and current consumption? thanks

I need to find the right amplifier for the job and there are a few selections I'm not familiar with. I am planning on useing 2 Diamond audio D1 10' 200rms in a sealed downfiring box to go under the seat of an '02 GMC Sierra extended cab. My choices so far are RE XT 800.2----not to familiar with these amps Diamond Audio D400.1----these either, but I have heard them on the same set up in the same truck sounded great,(also most expensive of the amps) Hifonics BXi1201----had this one before, it was awesome, but it was for SPL, I want to lean a little more towards, SQ this time. Any other suggestions would be helpful, I am trying to stay around $300, and I need at least 400 …

So earlyer this summer my kicker 650.4 got a little hot and burnt up. I was a Electrical Engineering student for 2 years so I know a little about the specific components in an amp. I took it apart and saw that it was a piece I haven't worked with before and about 10 of the same one fried. This is a picture from ROE(the amp guts section). I had my friend take close ups that I'll try to post tomorrow but he is having problems with his camera so not sure. Hopefully one of you guys can tell me what these are and if i'd be able to replace them. They are the first 4 black pieces under the metal on top and bottom and maybe 3 on the next sets of 3. Copied from earlier post below by Shizzzon. quick answer- A cap will discharge EVERYTHING in it's bank when a rush of current is requested... A battery will compensate for the current requested when the alternator can't or the regulator doesn't react fast enough. If you could.. try and imagine your battery going completely dead then back to recharging every other few seconds?!?! You can't imagine that at all.. So, you got your alt, a big battery bank and a big ass cap- The cap will ALWAYS be getting drained and recharged all the time... What's recharging it? The alternator... When it's doing that, it's providing less power to the audio system which results in more voltage…

Since a week or two, my Pioneer head unit has some problems. Sometimes the "face" doesn't respond, as if there is no power to it. It can happen with the music playing or with the h u off. If I unplug and the plug in the car fuse for the h u, eveything starts working again. If I press the reset button on the h u it starts working again, but I loose some settings. Do you know (or understand) what is happening ? Can it be a simple fix, or will I need to buy another h u ? Please help !!!

Ok, so i fire up my car to leave my friends and hear a pop then smell burning.... Smoke is billowing from my remote wire and it seems it had gotten loose from my amplifier and touched ground while still inside the remote section of the amp. This is visually the only thing i think could have happened. Amp light turns on amp doesnt work, opened up the case and notice a few burnt fets and some bars... Ile get pics later but if theirs char marks on the board do you think this is still fixable and how costly would the repair be? I have horrible luck and just want to push this whole car off a cliff at some point... BAH!!

I took my bmw to a local install shop here in Atlanta.... I had them make me a sealed box for my 2 15's. Solobaric l7's to be exact(dual 4 ohm)..... i dropped my car off and left.... When I returned everything was done! EXCEPT! I have a o guage kicker wiring kit and they told me 0 guage wouldnt be necessary so i said ok we'll see what happens first... i told them i wanted to use the 300a kicker fuse though.... I returned and all my settings were turned up... the sub on the radio was at 15/15 the highest it would go..... the bass was at its highest level and the gain was more then 75% up..... they told me......" we've been playing it hard for the last hour trying to break …

Plan on running two sundown 1500's with two Odyssey 2150 batteries in the back and one Odyssey 1200 under the hood. Going to keep my factory 130 amp alt to run it. Question is, how many runs of 1/0 should I run from the front battery to the back two? Probably going to just ground to the chassis of the car in the back. Thanks for the help

Hey everyone, I have two 12" Fi SSD's on their way...I ordered 1-ohm DVC so I could wire them to 1-ohm with my amp. I found a diagram of how to wire them, but I have a problem. I made my box so that each sub has its own airspace, so I'm going to need a seperate terminal cup for each sub. Would I wire it like this? (I didn't put the terminal cups in the diagram...but you get the point) This is the original diagram I found. I guess what I'm asking is, are both diagrams the same? Thanks!

thinking about a bit more juice for my rl-p currently useinga p.g.xennon 600wrms-very nice. got a dual 4 ohm rl-p so amp has to give plenty (1000 wrms at least) @ 2 ohms,and be excellent sq. anyone know what amp i need? link?

Which is better to run to the amp, fuse or circuit breaker?

what do you guys think of Re amps the have the 1200x 1. What is retail for one?? I also have another question. If i have a 2 ohm sub how can i run it at 1 ohm to get 1200watts

How many in-line fuse holders do I need? 1/0 from front to a Stinger T splitter (http://www.woofersetc.com/p8033/SPD512--Stinger-1-0-Gauge-Tee-Distribution-Block.htm) and 1/0 going to SAZ-1500, and 4ga going to a Alpine PDX 4.150. I am going to order a Stinger 150 to go between the SAZ amp and the T and a 60amp to go between the Alpine amp and the T Do I also need a 250 amp inline up front under hood or is that overkill? I have a 99 3 door Z71. I've upgraded the big 3 to 1/0 ga. I've put 200 amp Iraggi alt. in. I've got 2 Kinetik 1800's in the back. My amps are a RF T600-4, T1000-1. My volt meter still jumps alot and my lights still dimm a little. I just bought the 2 kinetik's new about 3 weeks ago. I put those 2 back there because I was planning on upgrading sub amp and 2-12's. But if it can't keep up with what I have there's no need. Is there something I'm missing to do or what? I don't listen to stereo very often with truck off. I just don't understand what's going on.

As the topic states. below is what I have considdered so far pls give advice .. feel free to add and give a reason. preffer not to get processor just yet. system will be used for 2-way active. eclipse 7200 MK II (this is what i wanted to get but now people say its not all that) Price around s$1050 alpine 9887 around $800 singapore dollar clarion D2 (price not sure and the ugliest of the bunch) Pioneer DEX-P90RS (looks promising but way over budget and no-one here have it, so that i can audit it. s$1500)

I would like to know if I should wire the subs using just one pair of outputs from amp or to use both pairs? I know how to wire from one pair (http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=12#results) ,but I'm unsure how to split the speaker wire (10gauge monster brand speaker wire) according to the diagram. I need a total 1ohm load. Any help is much appreciated. I have: 2007 Toyota Camry LE (all stock electrical w/o upgraded 8-speaker JBL) Two Fi Q 12" (dual 1 ohm) (cooling) (extra spider) in sealed box One AQ 2200D (mono amp) (has two pairs of terminals (4 total outputs))

ok, me and another person on RoE are having an argument on using a y cable on rca. he thinks that using a y cable is not going to do anything to the signal or anything and it is going to be the same as if there where no y cable. while i think and have found on other places online that say that using a y cable can weaken the signal and basic under standing of electricity does back that up. and that is while the voltage is the same when spliting but the current that is carrying the signal is cut in half. so who is correct? and i would post a link to the discussion but RoE has the forum set up so you can't.

i dont get it. i was doin an install on my friends car and the speakers werent working. I decided to take my eD9.2 out of the car and and switch the pg out to see if i hooked everything up correctly. Everything was fine. Now here is the problem. Once i put everything back in to my car and hooked everything up, i found out that both my amps wouldnt turn on. i checked the fuses, all fine, all the connections, fine also. the HU works.... but it seems that my amps wont turn on. What the heck happened?

So I just had a Viper r350 put into my vehicle...I want to add additional sirens. I've seen some 120db ones online for as little as $6... Anyone know if there's a limit to how many I can run off this alarm? I'm thinking 1 in each corner of the vehicle would be nice...

I always have in the past but I'm starting to upgrade to more and more powerful systems. The price difference between a run of 1/0 from ebay, to knu conceptz, to using welding wire is a huge. Anyone know if the ebay stuff has the same copper content and adequate insulation?

Ok guys i got my saz 3000 order in just waitin on new ones to come in and i've ordered a 18 btl what i'm wondering is will the 220amp "Dominator" Series Iraggi Alternator be enough with a extra batt and if i deceide to go with another saz 3000 would it still be ok thanks for any help ahead of time.
