ok so i have a 76 caprice i need to know what i need to do to properly power 1 of the saz-1500's im gettn stock alt 63amps brand new 4ga big 3 but upgrading to 1/0 when i get the amp $50 battery from autozone im looking for a decently priced big battery so what will i need to power this thing right

I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2.7L V6 and it comes stock with a 90amp alt BUT Im pretty sure if im running 2 15in Fi BL's ill need one right? I bought a Soundstream 1000amp hybrid capacitor but I dont know it that wil be enough if im running those speakers on the Kicker zx2500.1. Just checking with yall to see and make sure... dont wanna mess up anything you know? If you guys think ill still need one do you have any suggestions? I checked that Irragas store but they didn't have one for my car =(

I may need to order some wire specifically for tight areas soon. If i do, has anyone actually used both of these before? I know Kolossus Flex is so flexible it feels like there is no wire in the jacket... But i do not know how flexible they have made the 4/0 in RE... My runs would need to do an "S" in about a 6" range.

So i'm kind of new in car audio and i was wondering if i have a 2 4 ohm HDS212 and i wire them down to 1 ohm would a Q1-750 be enough power or should i go bigger?

well after a long and painful 8 months of design and thought----Pioneer P9 combo is what I have decided on. just letting you guys know----it shouldn't be too much long till I am dropping pics all over this forum of the install.

So, we did a rewire, and the Pioneer has been sitting for a little while. Went to test speakers and the h/u wouldnt power up, except the amps were turning on, h/u was getting power though. Fuse looked fine.

Heres the deal. Ive got a 08 explorer and in this thing is a huge ass nav screen. I want an aftermarket HU (pioneer type) obvioulsy for the EQ options, . I thought of tearing out the nav screen and replacing it with the aftermarket, but, most pioneers (moderately priced up 500$) are single din. Which in turn would leave me with an ass ton of space. Two questions/two scenarios. 1.) If i were to rip out the nav screen is there anything i could get to take up the extra space. Ive looked for adapters and such, but, nothin.2.) If i were to keep the nav screen in and mount my HU somewhere else, how would i wire them so both are functioning? I would like them functioning conside…

I'm in the process if replacing a factory head unit in a guys 2006 Dodge Charger. I wen't to the local dealer to get a wiring harness because it was the only place around that carries the model that I needed. When I asked for it, he told me that the part I needed was $140 however, he would sell me a standard harness that would work for 25, but I would have to run a remote wire to the fuse panel under the hood. He said that the ignition wire would be useless and I would have to do something along the lines of wiring the remote, ignition (red) on the HU, and the remote from the fuse panel all together to get it to work. Do I need to worry about the sub bottoming out because it has no ssf filter?

i just wanna know if anyone thinks this is good for about 2000w on stock alt puttin 13.9-14v idle and 14v+ engine rev. with 1000cca starter bat and kinetik 2000 in back all 0ga big three and such. i am not a competitor, not lookin to get the full 4k out of the amp, before everyone starts saying how you have to run it at 18v to see 4k. just wanna know if this is good enough to get 2000w for 2 12" fissd's. i have done searches also before i get flamed for this, but the few that wasn't bashing this amp were old ones for sale or people trying to get the full 4k from it, or modding it for 1 ohm use. dont need all that just 2k is fine for me, thanks.

Hey everyone, I was just pulling the OEM radio out of my 03 civic, and I was matching up the wires in accordance to my female harness. Everything matches perfectly, EXCEPT within the male harness, there is an extra wire that is red. Here is what the male harness diagram looks like: Radio 12v: white/red Radio ground: black Radio Ignition: yellow/red Radio Illumination: red/black I'm going to skip labeling the speaker wires, because that's all correct. All of that is correct, and this red wire is located directly under the red/black wire which is the illumination wire for the radio. Could this red wires function possibly be the illumination ground? Would a 3 or 5 channel amp be effective for a front stage and a sub stage. or would it be best to have 2 seperate amps i saw i believe it was a arc audio 3 channel amp the other day with the perfect power amount for my current plan of comps up front and a single ssa dcon 12 in the rear. On a side note i had seen the fi ssd 12s and they look nice but there is quite a price difference and if im not mistaken they require quite a bit more power than the dcon am i mistaken ? I am pretty sure the dcon is my number one choice im just wondering how it measures up against the ssd what are the major differences?

Soo what is a good idle amperage for the alternator to have? I've been doin alot of searchin and research, but never really found the answer to this question. I've seen 200a alts that only put out 60-100a at idle. I've also seen 200a alts that put out 100+ at idle. what is a good rating? i know u can get a smaller pulley to make the alt spin faster.\ Just curious because i see a 200a alt i like for 179$ and it does 95a at idle. thats more than i have now cuz i ony have a 95a alt, lol P.s. My transmission went out, secong one in there, plus a new engine. But the alt on a town car and navigator are the same so no worries

I think that I might run into some electrical problems in my new system that I'm currently putting together. I want to try and avoid it if I can to save money. I drive a 2000 Jetta VR6, it has a 120a stock alternator and this is my current battery My head unit is a Kenwood KDC-248u 4- Memphis PR 6.5's components in the doors My amp is an AQ1200d and this is where my first question comes in. I am looking at either getting 1 12 Icon, 1 15 Icon, or 1 12 Xcon. My question is should I play it safe and run them at 2ohms using ~870 watts or 1ohm using ~1200 watts.
