I bought a Sundown 100.4 refurb from DB-r a while back while it was on sale. When i got around to installing it, it was blowing fuses on the distro as soon as you hooked it up. So I sent it out to DB-r Tuesday before thanksgiving and I recieved the amp back TODAY (1 week and 1 day later). I am completely amazed with it being the week of Thanksgiving I received the amp back so quickly. That includes shipping time BOTH ways. The whole time it was out DB-r kept me updated with emails. I just wanted to give credit to DB-r for the excellent work they did. :bigclap:

Everything was working perfectly til yesturday when I took out my batterys ground and added another ground wire, when I turned the car back on my voltage gauge and both amps powered up but the HU didn't light up at all and started beeping really fast for the first few seconds then stopped, I hit the reset button on the HU and now nothing powers up (HU, amps, voltage gauge)...I checked both fuses on the amp (1 fuse on red power wire, 1 glass fuse on yellow "back up" wire) both were replaced and I've checked the necessary fuses in the interior fuse box with no luck... My friend has an 07 GTI and is thinking of running an AQ 2200D to two Fi Q's. My question is, will this amp be happy powered by the stock alt (120 amp). He doesn't really want to run an extra battery unless absolutely necessary. All suggestions and advice is appreciated.

I think that I might run into some electrical problems in my new system that I'm currently putting together. I want to try and avoid it if I can to save money. I drive a 2000 Jetta VR6, it has a 120a stock alternator and this is my current battery My head unit is a Kenwood KDC-248u 4- Memphis PR 6.5's components in the doors My amp is an AQ1200d and this is where my first question comes in. I am looking at either getting 1 12 Icon, 1 15 Icon, or 1 12 Xcon. My question is should I play it safe and run them at 2ohms using ~870 watts or 1ohm using ~1200 watts. when you set your gain with a dmm it says take the amps rms and multiply it by the impedance of the sub. so say you have a 2 ohm dvc sub and you wire it down to a 1 ohm load. do you take 1 ohm or 2 ohms and multiply it by your amps rms then sqrt it?

If I had a 15" Icon and a 1000 watt amp would I need to get a new battery under the hood, do the big 3 or get a new alternator in a 2004+ Explorer or a 2001+ Tahoe? What about 1500 watts?

So basically I put the ground wire in the power input and power wire and the ground input, now my amp won't turn on, fuck me. All I wanna know is what did I fuck up or possibly fuck up? Thanks for your help..

Does it really matter what RCA cables you use from your headunit to your amp?

Is it ok to mount the amps on the sub enclosure?

1. I ordered the Us amps merlin md1, and it says on their site it has 4 gauge awg terminals, but i also ordered the 1/0 gauge from knu, so my question is will it still fit/work? Or can you use any size wire for any amp? 2. Also, can someone link me to where you can buy the steve meade custom woofer from AA, or tell me if it's any good? 3. ok so i have a 76 caprice i need to know what i need to do to properly power 1 of the saz-1500's im gettn stock alt 63amps brand new 4ga big 3 but upgrading to 1/0 when i get the amp $50 battery from autozone im looking for a decently priced big battery so what will i need to power this thing right

Honest opinon would you rather have a old punch amp or a new punch amp I have 3 of the punch 200x2 and a 60x2 and a 40x2 amp that I am planning to une in what i call a old school build in my eclipse take suggestion on what subs to use plan on usin a 200x2 on each sub and the 60 and 40 on highs any suggestions???

This is for 2 AQ2200ds(200A per) and a sundown 100.4(90A rated about 65A used) Here are choices - Kinetik (i might go with powermaster but prices are bout the same so this is just the sake of kinetik) setup 1- 1 HC2400 (128aH) 2 HC800s (72aH total) Price - $632 setup 2- 3 HC1400s (180aH total) Price - $695 setup 3- 1 HC2400 (128aH) 2 HC1400s (120aH total) Price - $799 Kinetik has told me that their HC800 will give more impact than their batts above that model number meaning quicker discharge, like a cap. A while back, i emailed them requesting their suggestion for a 3,000w setup but obviously i've gone bigger, heh…

well i got my sub in today for my little mini build im doing and now i need to decide what amp i should go with to power it. the sub is a Fi SSD 12 D1 with BP cooling. I was thinking of running around 900-1000 rms to it at 2 ohms. So the question is what amp would you guys think would be good for this? The budget on this isn't much. probably around 200-225. thanks

Hey guys i have a question about using a second battery. i have a 95 Caddi stock alt. iterstate battery up front. i have done the BIG 3 using 4ga. The amps im running are the R/F P-400.4 at 4ohm each chanel and the R/F T500.1bdcp at 2ohm on two 4ohm svc 12" Dcons. i have been looking at the XS battery's. And would like to know if i would benifit from running one, and if so wich would be seggested. thanks for the feed back

Hello, I have a bad noise only when I play with the engine running. I was trying to unhook the sub from the amp, but I start to unscrew it with the sound playing ! my bad Something went wrong, I think the tool touched something wrong and I suddenly heard a bad "electric" noise. Now, when my system play withe engine off : no problem! Engine on : I can hear a sort of alternator noise if I don't crank it up. I can hear the noise of the direction lights in the front speakers! If I take off the rca's': no noise. I checked the grounds: no problem. I tried other rca's : same noise. It seems that the problem is coming from the hu : what do you think about that? I am looking for the screws that some amplifiers use to screw down wires into the amp channels and power/ground/remote etc. You have to use an allen wrench to tighten/loosen them. I do not know what they are called or where I can get them. I need some because I have 4 missing from my amp. 2 for a channel on the amp and 1 for the power and 1 for the ground. Im sure I can get them somewhere local but I'd like to order in bulk off the internet. So if you know the name of them I would appreciate it if you would share your ungodly wisdom upon me. so as you may know according to my sig, as i wait for 1/0 gauge in the mail, my amp frequently goes into protect mode b/ my sh*tty "4 gauge" wire lacks the capacity to deliver consistent power. if the amp goes into protect too many times, is it toast? it seems to be sounding a little funny lately... like it lacks the output it once had......

i had some issues at sears but now finially got my order placed. i got 2 group 49 AGM batteries for my truck. i currently have 2 group 31 lead acid batteries that still work (sort of) but are rather lack luster for starting the truck. so my thought was i save 15.00 on the order per battery to trade my 120.00 group 31's in (they are 1 year old) OR i could keep these 2 as a secondary isolated battery bank that i could abuse as i wanted with out much worry. do we think this is a decent idea or should i just core charge them? they are 1150CCA 195RC batteries. the truck has its stereo and a 16K Lbs recover winch on the front. my thought was that while the truck is running…

Just got this fold down face HU today for a tank of gas and 5 bucks. It needs the code for it and my local Kenwood shop wants 85 bones to send it to them for the code. Can someone help me??? I could use a code or someone who can help me here. J
