I'm looking at possibly running three 4 ohm subs, which would give me a 1.34 ohm load (of course, you all know this already ). How much power would I lose if using an amp that does its power at 1 ohm?

Does a car battery need to be grounded to something in order for it to work properly? The reason I ask this is because a friend and myself are doing a school project (we have to design an entire business), and we thought it would be cool to make a movable car audio display. It would contain some OEM speakers from my Lumina, as well as my friend's Kicker L5 8", Audiobahn amp, a Kenwood head unit I've got laying around, and my car's battery that I'm soon to be replacing. We're thinking of hooking the amp and H.U. directly to the battery (well, fused of course), with a switch on the H.U.'s power lead so that we can turn it on/off that way. The ground for the amp and H.U. w…

Anyone know of a good amp repair place that might be able to fix an old Mark Antony 25OPCM? I found a phone number for Concept, I believe they bought them out years ago--but haven't had a chance to give them a call. I would REALLY like to get this amp repaired if at all possible.

  9. My system was finally working right all together. I was on my way to my apartment (3 hr drive), so I had turned the bass really low so it wouldn't knock my radar detector off the glass. I was just driving along and heard a loud bass hit all of a sudden. It was really weird, kuz the bass was pretty much to where I couldn't even hear it and I guess I didn't notice kuz i had turned it down alot. So the bass hit really hard, then stopped. It did this about 2-3 times, just really odd sounds and extremely loud...like not going with the music that was playing and far far louder than I had the bass turned up. Anyway, I got home to check it out. I can turn the subwoofers OFF…

i'm thinking of getting a second eD nine.1. they're 900 watts stable at 2 ohm, and 1200 at 1 ohm. if possible i'd like to run them both at one ohm, im pretty sure i have the electrical system for it. question is, if i wire a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub by itself to the amp its either at 4 or 2 ohms right? no way to get 1 ohm load from a single d4 woofer? could someone maybe give me a crash course in wiring? i think i would need d2 woofers to get 1 ohm from 1 speaker right?

I have a cheap 300w amp that I plan to run to my doors and 6x9's in rear deck. I already have a run of 1/0 to my 1000w mephis amp. I was wondering if it is a good idea to run a short run of about 12-16g wire from the power inputs on the mephis where the 1/0 is, and from there to the power inputs on the 300w to keep from having to put in another run of power cable from battery to the trunk. I tried this already just to power the amp and it worked, but I didn't have any speakers wired to it. Would this be logical, or would it mess something up?

So I am attempting to install my upgraded alternator and big 3 this is a first time for me with both situations. Everyone from here has been super helpful so I was hoping you can bail me out since my car is in pieces. I have currently removed the original alt and put the singer alt in that I purchased. I have not connected any wires yet this is where my confusion has started. I have located my grounding wire from engine to battery and will upgrade it which is one of the big three. Now the other two is where I am getting confused. 1.The alt I purchased from singer has an upgrade to increase my voltage and the device he put on has will not allow me to re attach the two c…

I have an Eclipse CD-8053 CD player which I love. It have a built in Crossover, However it can not do everything I need. I need a outboard Crossover that will work in conjunction with the Eclipse r all by itself to control a 3 way or 4 way system I have a SI Sub CDT EF8 Midbass CDT ES520 Components. Now either I need to break the audio line in 3 spots and use 3 amps and let the Components Crossovers do the work between the 5.25 driver and the tweeters, Or I can buy a 4th small amp to run the Tweeters off the new crossover. My Main concern is that its adjustable, and will not introduce any new noise, in other words a SQ piece! Let me know if you have any suggestions. I …

hey i don't understand why visions in my town when running the speaker wire to the sub used 16 gauge and twirled it around it self so when i unwound it there was probably 7-9 ft just going to the box does twisting the wire do anything or are they just trying to charge for more wire ? I'm redoing it with 12 gauge it's only for a 600rms alpine amp so 12 gauge i figure is plenty
