I'd really like to learn (not ask here whenever i have a question) how the amp draws current, and where it draws from (how the alternator comes in to play and such). A buddy was asking me if he should get 2 bls, and i told him his electrical couldn't handle it if he were to power them as much as he wanted to. I'm pretty confident what i told him was right, but i'd really like to know more, it just bugs me to tell him that and not know why myself lol. Anyone know of a good link or two so i can learn about this?

Here in my next build, I'm going with 4 batteries, but am unsure about which to use. I'm going to be building a wall in my 2 door Chrysler Sebring....2 Sundown Audio 3000D's, 1 15" custom Nightshade(lil bit of tweaking) and a Sundown Audio 100.4 for component set. I'm running all 0 gauge Kicker Hyperflex wiring, Optima Yellow Top up front with big 3 done with the only alternator available for my vehicle...a Load Boss 160 Amp alternator. My question being....I know of all these battery companies....and I've used Kinetik but want to go a different route. How are Powermaster...DEKA Intimdators and any other high amperage brand of AGM batteries stacked up against eacvh othe…

If I had a 15" Icon and a 1000 watt amp would I need to get a new battery under the hood, do the big 3 or get a new alternator in a 2004+ Explorer or a 2001+ Tahoe? What about 1500 watts?

  6. okay so i have done a search on this all over, and i did find one post about someone who only used the front channels and then connects the rear channels directly, but kept the fader set to the front, but this just sounds like a bad idea what i want to do is amp my front speakers (alpine type r components), but leave my rear speakers on the head unit's power (alpine sps-400's) i just bought a rockford fosgate t400-2 off a friend on the cheap so i was planning to use that (type r's with only 17 watts have absolutely zero bass) head unit is sony-gt240 ( i know sony isn't that great, but the sound quality is just as good to me as it is on some friends alpines and pioneer h…

It was brought up in another topic I have, but they said they could get an 80 amp fuse to hold on a 3500 watt burp. I plan on competing in meca and knowing how this is done would be vital info to me. Let me know how its done.

Hey guys... I'm about to do the big 3 in my pontaic g8 and the batter is in the truck.. The alt positive is no problem but I'm trying to work out the engine block ground..... What are my options without putting the wire under the car..... Can I ground the block to the chassis and double up on the chassis grounding points near the battery?

I always have in the past but I'm starting to upgrade to more and more powerful systems. The price difference between a run of 1/0 from ebay, to knu conceptz, to using welding wire is a huge. Anyone know if the ebay stuff has the same copper content and adequate insulation?

whats the opinions on the newer MB Quart amps. i know galamonkey uses them and ive seen alot of others with them. Im wondering if they share the same boards as the autotek mean machines. they seem very similar, especially being that they are both crappsonics brands. they are tempting bc you know the name used to be good and you can get them for so cheap on ebay.

I plan to wire my sub to my amp like this, My question is, would it be the same if i ran 1 positive wire out of 1 positive terminal on the amp into 1 positive terminal on the voice coil and the other positive terminal on the amp to the other positive terminal on the other voice coil and the same for the negative?

Here is the layout- 258A alt regulated at 14.95v wired directly to factory starting battery. Wire comes off of the starting battery and goes to the rear through solenoid then to 3 batts in the rear. When the stereo system is ran at full tilt for about 2 minutes straight, at one time recently i got a rotten egg smell that came from inside the engine bay but only under high amperage demands. Local Auto Zone fears that since the alt is ran to the starting battery first before it reaches the rear batts and amps is that it may be overcharging the starting battery. We felt the terminals onthe starting batery and they were scorching hot. So... for those who have setup high power…

just wondering how reliable pioneer HU's are at puting our rated power  Ive got it installed in my 92 grand am. it runs for as much as $193 on yahoo shopping, but i bought it off some guy on FXN for 115 shipped. edit: i just read that its rated at 22 watts rmsX4. only the two rear speakers work and its pretty loud. wonder how loud it'd get with new speakers and an amp B) edit found 1 on ebay thats factory remanufactured for $129 starting bid and its not too bad of a head unit for a poor man like me

I'm truly amazed. idk what it is but man the center channel just makes it sound better... normally im pretty good at putting my finger on why it sounds better worse ect but i honestly cant hear it playing when i have it on it sounds like perfect stereo. but i flip the switch to turn it off and you can tell right away its just not the same. crazy... anyone (m5) have an explanation or advice... i have alot of tuning to do i should get some videos of the spectrum analyzer up soon. sadly this …

Well, I have been watcking egay for another 275 board, I have been seeing them quite often but never had the money. Well guess what, found another. My plan was to have both amps and make 2 plexi covers with fans to show off the internals. If you guys cant tell I love 2 things and 2 things only, Cerwin Vega and Old school Orion. Gonna wait untill closing day of auction before I bid. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5750172292&rd=1

  22. Like the title states. I need an amp to power 1 incriminator audio lethal injection DVC 4 ohm sub 600rms. I want something that's reputable and not something that is going to take a crap like that China stuff (no offense). Brand/ model names would be great, I know this isn't the 4 sale section but if you're selling something that's good and suites my needs, PM me with price, brand/model name, and condition THNX to all

Alright guys I know this kind of question has been asked before but I just wanted to make sure what will be right for me. I already tried searching for a long time but haven't really found my answer. So I just bought a SAZ-2000D from Mark for my subs and I already have a JBL 4 channel amp for my mids and highs. So what I am trying to figure out is if I should upgrade my alt or just get a second battery. I already have a yellow top upfront and I have the factory 145 amp alt. My system would be around 2500 watts but judging by how the SAZ-2000D did on Jacob's clamp test I'm guessing my system will be close to 3000 watts. I have about 400 dollars left to spend on electrical…
