ok so today me and my friend were taking out his back seat of his z71 to make a new box and he accidently moved his amp when we were pulling out his old box and there was a spark from the power and ground wires touching, so we moved them apart and didnt pay any attetion, but when we put the 15 back in and hooked it up his amp wouldnt come on, buyt the radio did, so we turned the truck off and re-connected the power and ground to make sure and now neither the amp or head unit will work, anyone might have an idea to what the hell is wrong with this thing, o and the head unit and amp arent using the same power wire, but they are connected with a remote wire

so I was just curious, as to the pros and cons of either amp... or what US amp would compare to a sundown, or if the even can be compared... I just keep hearing from a buddy, who seems to know more than me about car audio, that the old US stuff is hard to beat.

I thought about using the Batcap 8400 because it would save weight over conventional batteries. It weighs 70 lbs vs several hundred lbs for yellowtops. Its capable of 8400 amps @16V and up to 9600 amps@12V. Anyone have experience with these and how they compare to batteries? Any issues w/these things?

I think I might go full active, and I would LOVE to go the route of a 6ch amp. I was looking at the Audison VRx6 Direct, damn its expensive. I know PPI had a nice PC6600.2 back in the day before the DEI switch over. SoundStream had the Davinci (overkill for me, I dont need 7channels) Anyone have any other suggestions?

I have a dual 1 ohm BL (.75dcr) with no options and need a amp for it. I will do the big 3 and have the stock 130a alternator and battery so it needs to be fairly efficienct. I may add a battery or two in the future but not immediately. Right now im looking at a sundown 1500 (run at .375 ohms), gp3000d (rated 1500@2), crossfire vr2000d (.5 ohm stable, 2000 watts), and zx1500.1 If i did the crossfire i could add another battery right away because of the price. I like the sundown just because its sexy and can tolerate low voltage, i like the gp3000d because it can do 3000@1 if i ever decide to upgrade (though i havent found out how efficient it is), the crossfire is just ch…

Hey guys, i've been getting an anoying screeching coming from my component speakers and a deep rumble coming from my sub when ever the car is running, the noise gets louder as the RPM increases. Also when ever you change songs or turn the deck on/off there is a poping sound. I've had my system in for about 3 months now and this JUST started a few days ago. I didn't have this problem at all until now. I have My RCA's run away from the power wires, I also have both amps grounded to the same location. looking for some comp amps that do 5-7kw @1ohm can only be a single amp not strapped amps. used for usaci 601 to 1800 class so the 4 ohm output needs to be 1800 or less. that or an amp with 4ohm under 600w capable of .5 ohm power around 4k thanks for the help

okay, I got my Mach 5 15's and i love them. But until i get the money to get the Sundown amp, I need to figure out which amp I need to use in the mean time. So I have two amps, obviously. I just need to know which amp would be better off for me. I am looking for accurate punchy bass more than I am loudness. So please help me out and let me know which is better. Thanks Guys ~MadroX

I have an upgraded alt. to 180A (i know not much, but all I could get with my car) BIG 3 are done... 2 extra batts. in the trunk.... I wake up yesterday, and for the first time ever my battery light AND brake light are on, so I'm like wtf.... to coincidental, must be something stupid that needs to be re-set... I just went out there and tested my battery.. With car ON, it reads 12.35, car OFF 12.45....... I reved the engine with the car on and it went up like .2-.3 ANybody know what this indicates...whether it means bad battery, or bad Alt.....???? Battery is only 2 months old PLEASE HELP! So working for Wal-Mart doesnt exactly leave you with a whole lot of money to spend on quality products, espicially when you are the only one working with a wife and kid. So anyways, I've been without a stereo in my truck for almost 2 years until my birthday back in April. My father-in-law got me a Boss cd player and its already starting to crap out. So anyway, my brother owns a towing business/ Car parts yard (aka junk yard) ... And he acquires many things. So he acquired one of those industrial sized Optima Yellow tops and a Regular Optima yellow top. I am building my system and a battery was my next step. He gave them both to me, and I was wondering if I should keep them or sell them and put in a large Powermaster or something??? Both are brand new, still in the plastic rappers

Would lets just say 1000 watts on 2 ohms be the same electrical strain as 1000 watts on 1 ohm?

So I cracked open some Knukonceptz Krystal 4channel RCA cables that I just took out of my car(replaced with my own I made ). and as I suspected, quadruple shielding my ass! None of the shields are grounded, I looked on both ends all look the same 2 wire conductor per rca. I cut that black heat wrap off on all of them. 1 side: other side: close up: they all look the same as this just different color conductor wires. here is another shot of the Knu where the pants meets actual cable insulator Looking for shielded RCAs? dont buy those...

I recently got a redtop from a friend. It had been sitting up for a good while and was reading 7 volts. So I put my charger on it @ 2amps for 3 days. Now the battery reads 14 volts when I take the charger off. All good right? But when I go to try it out and put it in my car, it wont crank it. So I let it charge some more, and same thing. Battery is fine until you put a load on it. Im assuming its bad, but I wanna make sure, so here this thread is. Hate to waste a battery like that.

I have a Mustang which equals no trunk. I have 2 Audiofonic 12s in a ported box in my backseat. They are rated at 1200W max but we all know thats a lie. I am looking for a mono amp to power these until I find a 15 that will fit in the trunk. I have looked at kenwood KAC-X1R, hifonics 1608d, and a few others. My budget it 300 max. Does anyone have any experience with a Digital Audio DHC2154? My only concern is can it do 1000 true rms at 1 ohm. I know its not a great amp but my kicker 1200.1 was stolen and I am trying to work through college and dont have alot of extra right now. A guy on realm of excursion offered it to me for $150 shipped. Is it worth it?

i have a hk-802sx, i have 4 L7 15s D2 and can wire 2 Parallel/Parallel for .5ohms witch the amp can do 2200wrms x 2 or i can leave the current way all 4 wired Series/Parallel @ 1ohm. i was wanting to try it at .5ohms but b4 i take all the subs out and rewire i thought id ask and see what ppls thoughts on this, pros or cons???.. any input would be great.

anybody own this amp? what do you think about it? i was told it will not do what it says, has anybody put an o scope on one ? im going to put it on one fully loaded fi btl 15, if it has enough power i would like to put two on it any suggestions?

alrite i got everything hooked up at 5 this morning, i turn the key on, everything powers up, and there is a loud screeching popping sound coming from all my mids/highs, i unplugged the rca's from my mids/highs amp and no more screeching both the amps are ok now and i have bass. so we thought i had a bad pair of rca's so i went to the store this morning and picked a new pair up just got back to the house and hooked it up and same chit... anybody experienced anything like this before im clueless.

Had one sitting around i picked up and been using since my kickers in for repairs.... Took her apart and looked around on amp guts. IDENTICAL to the 3000D BUT with the addition of fuses. Appears damn near 100% match. Ile take pics tommorow. For a cheap amp it has a ton of output power.

Anyone know of a good amp repair place that might be able to fix an old Mark Antony 25OPCM? I found a phone number for Concept, I believe they bought them out years ago--but haven't had a chance to give them a call. I would REALLY like to get this amp repaired if at all possible.

Ok, I just got in my Fi Q 15. I have it running 1000rms at 1 ohm on a Sundown 1500D on stock electrical. I am getting a bit of dimming. I have a run of 1/0 wire with a 1/0 battery to chassis ground. I am thinking of going pickup a Kinetik HC600 or HC800 and put it in the back since, I still have to hookup my JL 300/4 back there. Would this take a bit of strain of my front battery? I REALLY dont want to have to change my alt. Factory amperage on my Tacoma is 80 amp.

I am running an saz 1500d and 100.4 and I have a stock 145 amp alt. I already have a red top optima battery in the oem spot but I need another battery for the back can I use another red top or should I get the yellowtop? will a red in the front and yellow in the back be ok because they are different? Noobie question
