I've been keeping an eye out for amps lately with the intent to buy a sax-100.4 but looking at crutchfield they have a p450.4 which is rated at 60x4 for a pretty good price. I looked at ampguts and it seemed to look pretty sparce inside, but I'm no engineer so what do i know? I would run this amp with the front 2 running generic 6.5 speakers on the front and the rear 2 bridged to an id10v3 D2. What do y'all think? Thanks John

  4. Started by AXEHAMMER,

I just had to replace my highs amp (jl audio 360/4) due to a malfunction. I was getting "engine" noise that came and went and also was present with car not running??! So I purchased an RF P400x4 to match my sub amps (t1500bdcp). I am happy with the amp, its the new model so it has input clipping and output clipping indicators, and a fancy set up disc with all tones and sweeps necessary (0db and -5db). So far very pleased. Also just fyi my pioneer p4400bh DOES NOT CLIP even at full volume. But that being said I had to go almost 3/4 on gains to get the required output without clipping of course. Also my sub amps are up quite high. So, long story short, I am getting very int…

  5. I was planning on purchasing two RF P3D2 12's (600rms each) in a ported enclosure and need help on picking the right amp for them. I am stuck inbetween the RF T-1000.1 which has a posted 1000rms and the RF T-500.1 that outputs 500rms both at 2 ohms. The problems is that RF apparently under rates their amps and i've seen some "birth sheets" of both these amps going over 100rms-500rms of the posted rms on the RF website. I don't want to over power these subs or under power them too much. Any help for choosing the correct amp for these subs would be appreciated.

  6. I have a Rockford-Fosgate T-1000bd and earlier today i was playing my friends sub on my amp fine and then i took his out and put mine back in. After I did this the amp is staying in protect mode. The light turns on (blue power) and whenever a bass note hits the protect light will come on in unison with the bass and no sound is produced. I am positive I have my BL wired down to 1 ohm. Any suggestions? more information you need? heeeeeeelp Stock electrical btw on a 2005 grand prix gt.

When I returned everything was done! EXCEPT! I have a o guage kicker wiring kit and they told me 0 guage wouldnt be necessary so i said ok we'll see what happens first... i told them i wanted to use the 300a kicker fuse though.... I returned and all my settings were turned up... the sub on the radio was at 15/15 the highest it would go..... the bass was at its highest level and the gain was more then 75% up..... they told me......" we've been playing it hard for the last hour trying to break …

One of these will be my next amp. The T1500 may or may not be the CP version. I will decide that if I decide to go with the RF amp. Will be powering two DC lvl3 15's.

  13. O.k. here is the deal. I have 8 sets of SoundStream RF-60C component speakers (6" midwoofer, 25mm tweeter, and crossover). I just found out that I have 2 blown crossovers (so far). Being that each set has a rms power rating of 180watts, I thought I could get away with running 1 crossover per 4 midwoofers and 4 tweeters. This gives me a 1.7Ohm load. I was just told not to do that as the crossover will not handle the power. O.k. then, my next question goes here. Since the amplifier that I will be using has a built in crossover, do I really need to use the crossovers that come with the components? I am pretty sure this can be done without a problem, but want to be sure. I kn…

I was wondering what type of amp i should get to power 2 12 RL-Ps so that they can still bump real loud but have good sound quality. I am looking for an amp that is not to expensive. Hopefully under 250 if possible. I have been recommended the Hifonics Hifonics BX1205D/BX1605D, are there any comments on those amps? Will they work well? Any other amps that may be able to do the job? Thanks. Mike

Can someone throw me the calculation for RMS wattage, i think it's something about the fuse rating times something else. I Have a Kenwood 4ch amp, with a 15amp fuse wanted to know roughly how much i could possibly expect. Half of all websites arent working at the moment. School server is being funky with the blocking, i think Mr.B needs to reset the filters.

Sorry for asking such a basic question but I used the search feature and I can't find anything on it. I am planning a build for a BL 15 in about 4 cubes and I need to know how many RMS I can safely put out on a sundown amp with a 130amp alternator without dipping below 12v too severely.

I currently have a rockford 1500.1 amplifier, 2 12" fi q's a power acoustik 5 farad capacitor and a stinger sp 680 car audio battery. I have been having problems with the amplifier and am not sure what it is thats wrong or what I can try next or if the amp is possibly deffective. the amp is currently turned up a little less than half way and when I put the base all the way up on the head unit and turn the volume up about 3/4 the way up the amp will shut off. The red light does not come on to put the amp into protection or anything just the amp turns off than back on a few seconds later. I have upgraded the big 3 with 4 gauge wire and ran 0 gauge wire from the battery back…

I have 3 of the old rockford 200x2 transana amps 2 of them i bought from a guy that swore they worked fllawlessly. Anyway I hooked them up to test them out, they paly fine until they have to play a low note, and then they clip i guess, until i turn the volume down a little and then they play fine. The other 200x2 I have doesnt do that at all I can play it all day long and it never does that. has anyone ever heard of such a problem?

Does anyone have any experience with the 2003 line up of Rockford Fosgate punch amps? I'm considering picking up a Punch 150 "25 to life" amp to go along with my Punch 600.4. I'm wondering if it would be better to go with this amp or to stick with the older style 500.2 that I can get a bit cheaper.
