I have 2 fi SSD woofers in my 2001 Celica and the lights dim real bad every time the bass hits. I have a 2.4 farad capacitor, is that even worth putting on? or should I go for a new alternator or battery

I have an old school memphis Belle 6-ch amp. Here is what I know for sure: -Channels 1-4 work fine. (4x75@4) -Channels 5 and 6 have possible the same problem, but 6 has it worse. (2x150@4 playing 80-250hz) -Channel 5 works maybe half the time at start up -Channel 6 never works on start up. -Power/ground/remote is secure and is 4awg. -Both speakers are connected properly. -Both speakers have power from the amp (I know this for a fact) -Neither speaker is blown, both have good coils and leads. -The RCAs are good and both send signal to the amp (again, I know this) -If I play a tone within range of the band pass and gradually turn up the volume to about 80% up to the volume …

I been looking around for head units and I haven't found the "perfect" one. I currently have an Alpine 9883 and I wouldn't really buy it again. I use my Ipod and I dont like the way to select music on the head unit. I was on the Sony Xplod site and this head unit looked pretty cool. MEX-BT5100. Has anyone had experience or worked with Sony head units? Or if anyone has a better choice let me know.

I just recently purchased a hifonics bxi1608d. It has 4 gauge terminals and is going to be pushing about 1600 watts. I am not sure if 4 gauge is large enough for the 1600 watts but, on the other hand, I am not sure if I would be able to squeeze the 2 gauge into the 4 gauge terminals. Any suggestions?

h, i am thinking of running a 980bt for my headunit and i want to use it to do an active set up and i was reading the manuel and i think i understand how to do it but i want to make sure. this is how i think it is: i need to have channels 1 and 2 used for the tweeter with a highpass set to whereever then use channel 3 and 4 for the midrange with a lowpass set just below the highpass. and i want to use 2 sets of speakers so i can just run an rca from the amp to the other amp. and sorry but this is my first time doing active and i want to make sure. also on the amp. Sax100.2 would i set x over on it to full? or is there a way to bypass it.

so i feel that i am now at the point of buying an EQ. my questions are: i have tweeters, mids, bass, and i might have a set of mid bass coming up. should i buy a 3 way EQ or a 4 way? how many channels is enough? id think i want at least 30 channels to eq from no? the more the better? what is the difference between a 1/3, 1/2, and 1 octave response? how can i tell if my deck is clipping the RCA signal or if a processor is clipping? to be clear i am not looking for some worthless 40hz or max volume one time measurement but i want a way to tell at a glance if i am clipping with a wide range of songs and volume configurations. i currently have a KX3 xover, would the …

I could not find the answer using the search fonction. Sorry. Can I use the Alpine 9886 with the Alpine processor pxa h 701 without getting the "screen" remote( RUX something) ? A friend of mine already has the h u, and he just made a fantastic deal on the processor. He does not know how to run both ! He has the imprint processor but this new one seems way better. If he has to buy the remote, he will do it, but it would be great to just run bost equipment without anything more. Thanks for your help guys !

I just got my brand new JVC KD-AVX77 in today. Got all the supplies needed and hooked it all up properly. *soldering and heat shrink. The unit itself works fine, but no sound at all! No sound is being projecting through the speakers. I put in my stock headunit and it works fine. Anyone know what the issue is? I matched up all the connections. I called JVC and someone told me to connect all the reds and yellows and connect them together............can someone help? I need this done today! Thanks

Due to some unforeseen circumstances (dealing with a disreputable online retailer) it appears like I will shortly be in possession of 2 amps instead of one. I had just wanted a 2 channel amp to power my Phoenix Gold RSD65cs components and then I was going to determine whether or not to add rear fill or a sub with another amp down the road. But now, I have an MB Quart DSC280 (80x2 at 4ohm) and a Planet Audio RX4.400 (100x4 at 4ohm) to be delivered this week. My wife is less than impressed with this turn of events and says I can only keep one and will have to sell the other. My first question is, assuming I follow orders, which amp do I keep. ok i have 6 xs d3100s... im gonna charge them all at once cause i dont have access to each battery.... now last time i charged them i used 2 amps which took forever!.... can i charge them with 12 amps ?? i have a schumacher charge that shuts off whens they are fully charged (trickle charge) and doesnt charge higher than 15 volts.... the charger has a 2 amp, 12 amp, and 75 amp charge setting..... the 75 amp is for starting a vehicle with a dead battery..... so i know not to use that one lmao... will i be fine charging with 12 amps ??? this way it wont take days to charge them.... last time using a 2 amp charge it took about a week lol...

I will be using four Phoenix Gold ZPA amplifiers in my next build. Two of the ZPA 0.5 will be used to power my subwoofers. I am considering two ICON 15". All four of my ZPA have v2 mods as well as cap replacement and the two 0.5 wil have upgraded power supply components. At a 4 ohm mono load the 0.5's output is around 1200w, at 2 ohm mono output is around 1600w. Since these are class a/b amplifiers current draw increases fairly significantly at 2 ohms mono. Do you think I should use these amps at 4 or 2 ohm mono load? I would think that the damping factor would also be lower at 2 ohm mono. I am getting ready to place an order from Knu for my wiring. I just want to make sure I get what I need the first time and it's the right stuff. First of all...do I need one or two runs of 1/0g power wire for my two amps? The mono block will likely be an AQ1200d at 2 ohm (870w RMS) and the other amp for my mids/highs will be no more then 150w x 2 @ 4ohms. So if a single run is sufficient, once I get the wire to the amps and I go to split...what size wire should go to the AQ amp? I am just wondering because I didn't see a dist. block on Knu's site that allows for a 1/0g wire to be split into 2 or more 1/0g wires for multiple amps to be ran with that size wire. I figure 4g …

I had it for about 2 years now, I updated the software for it last week. Now it's a pain in the **s. I thought everything was fine, been doing good, now tonight it want connect through my Tungsten E2. It says i need the 3sixty.1 software to connect. My 3sixty.2 thinks it's a .1 now all of a sudden. I have reset everything, Uninstalled and re-installed the software to have the same thing come up. It thinks its a .1 for some reason. Any help well be appreciated.

so as of the economy being dog chit, i am forced to an extremely small christmas, i will have around 275-300 dollars, so what should i go with between a powermaster2400($280) and a kinetikhc1800 ($259.99) i will be running a rockford fosgate t3001bd with a duralast yellow top and a stock alt with all 1/0 awg, i would love the powermaster but i would also like some other little things ya know. so what would be a better choice between batts

is there a technical way of finding out how much power an amp puts out @ 3 ohm? my boston pro60s are 3 ohm, and i was thinkin about gettin a zx550.2, and thats 205w rms x 2 @ 2 ohm, and i think 175 @ 4, i could take a ball park guess around like 190ish maybe, but is there an actual way to figure that out with math, or do i gotta get the amp, get a DMM, etc etc? So, I bought 2 hawker 2v cells to run a 16v tap. I thought i had a problem with that setup and found out it was ok. Someone said it was a bad idea and said i should purchase a 3 post kinetik hc16v(brand new). Thought to myself that id be on the safe side if i went ahead and did it. Called kinetik personally and talk to Jon( I believe) and made sure everything was properly installed and according to my Blue Point Dmm everything was like he said. Well, let me tell u what..... The hc16v setup with the EA alt on 19.1v to the 16v side and with a digital meter with about 3 weeks of driving, the battery dies completely. Got pissed and ran my 2 2v cells now for more mile…
