I've tried searching around the forums for this but its a bit hard due to the size of all the words associated. So I plan on doing the BIG 3 in the next few days and I have my 0 Gauge wires, terminals,and fuse holder only thing left for me to do is get the fuse. On 02 Laredos the stock alternator has an output of 136 Amps, On other forums people recommended a 300 AMP Fuse but wouldn't this render the fuse useless as being such a high overall amp compared to the alt it wouldn't do its job and blow? I need an amp to push 2 12 re se's. I want to give them at least 1k rms @ 1 ohm. I dont realy wanna spend more than 300 either. One amp ive been looking @ is the AQ1200D but im open to other ideas as ive never used anything from audioque. Thanks

I've been having problems with my stock battery and I want to replace it. So I want something good to replace it. I just measured and I have a max 12" long x 7.5" wide. I'm just a little unsure what to go with. My budget is around $200 but I don't mind spending a little more if need be. This is my first battery purchase so I'm not sure what the best place to order from either. I was thinking a Kinetik 1800 but I'm not sure, I just don't want to make the wrong decision and regret it. Appreciate any help.

I am getting ready to place an order from Knu for my wiring. I just want to make sure I get what I need the first time and it's the right stuff. First of all...do I need one or two runs of 1/0g power wire for my two amps? The mono block will likely be an AQ1200d at 2 ohm (870w RMS) and the other amp for my mids/highs will be no more then 150w x 2 @ 4ohms. So if a single run is sufficient, once I get the wire to the amps and I go to split...what size wire should go to the AQ amp? I am just wondering because I didn't see a dist. block on Knu's site that allows for a 1/0g wire to be split into 2 or more 1/0g wires for multiple amps to be ran with that size wire. I figure 4g …

I'm trying to determine what my next step should be. My 2002 4Runner has a Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 on the front components, and had a Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D on the subwoofer. However, it appears my wiring is insufficient as I burnt the 1500D a while back (running sub-less for months now). I'm not sure what steps I should take to avoid this in the future. I have the stock battery and alternator, with 4-gauge to blocks and 8-gauge to each amp. In hindsight, this is terribly inadequate, but we only learn from our mistakes. What steps should I take next? Should I add a dedicated run from the main battery to the 1500D? If so, which gauge? Should I do the "BIG-3" or install a…

so as of the economy being dog chit, i am forced to an extremely small christmas, i will have around 275-300 dollars, so what should i go with between a powermaster2400($280) and a kinetikhc1800 ($259.99) i will be running a rockford fosgate t3001bd with a duralast yellow top and a stock alt with all 1/0 awg, i would love the powermaster but i would also like some other little things ya know. so what would be a better choice between batts

hey guys i have 2 12 L7's being powered by a Eclispe DA7232. All was fine up until a few weeks ago when i noticed that the amp occasionaly shuts off after a few mins of play. all the wires are fine and the other amp works fine.... i was thinking maybe it might be seeing low ohms but the amp is not even warm...any ideas?....thanks guys

So I'm not new to car audio, but I'm new to the fine tuning. Years ago, I'd wire a sub to an amp and be done with it. Now, I've found that it's a little more technical than that. Here's my issue: I'm doing the 'gain setting,' and I'm not sure how to calculate the target voltage. I read somewhere that when you run a dual 4ohm sub, you have the double the target voltage, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. The target voltage of my current sub amp is 43.8@ 4ohms, 42@3ohms and 40@2ohms. I'm running an old JL 12W3v2, dual 4ohm sub. I have it wired in parallel, so I can bring it down to 2ohms. Does that mean that my target voltage is now 80? My brain is going to start spill…

I have spent an hour on google searching trying to find a neon light controller that will flash to the music using a rca cable so the neon flashes to the music and not people talking. I have seen them before but i cannot seem to locate one now that I wan't to get one.

So lets say I have the potential to draw 700amps with my system, If I have 1 battery under the hood and 3 more in the trunk, a run of 3/0AWG wire front to back, how do I fuse it? Last time I checked the largest ANL fuse was 300AMP How do you guys with monster systems do it? other than multiple runs of power wire.

Hey so I was browsing woofersetc today and I came across this Clarion VZ400 Looks pretty nice for less than $400. I looked everywhere but I couldn't find a review. So i am not to familiar with many brands so i would like a few options out there on some amps. What i am looking for is something that is cea rated at 13.8v. I don't need that much power i need 500watts either at 1ohm or 4ohm rated. What i am powering is a single sundown 10" e-series. Reason i need a amp rated at 13.8 is because its going in a 2012 corolla and toyota seems to regulate at a lower voltage which is around 13.8.

I just went and bought a Digital Multimeter because I will be getting a stinger voltmeter soon.. plus I just needed one, and well.. I have no idea how to use it!!! I tried my best and got a spark and some awfully hot wire thingys... ouch. First off there are 2 different red plugs and 1 black plug slots at the bottom of the dmm.. I wasn't sure how to know which red one to plug into, and obv. the black went into the only black slot. After that i went over to DCv and scrolled the wheel over to 20..
