Does anyone know where I can find a list of all alpine head units? I'm trying to build a few period correct stereos and need some info.

I've been doin a little research so stop me if i'm wrong. I need an EQ, large band, so that when i setup my amps, i can get the amplitude on as many frequencies as possible to their max potential without clipping because the output power on all frequencies is not the same... Ok, so, i found out that graphic vs parametric... parametric eq is better for this because of it's larger bandwidth. So, this is the only thing i have came up with, let me know what u think if it'll work for me or anything else you can think of- Audiocontrol DQS - it has 30band but do not know if it's graphic or parametric... Audiocontrol DQXS - it has, hehe, 142! I dont think it matters what type …

Well i have a Panasonic 6900ub and it's supposed to have 4 volts preouts. Head unit is set at 46/62max. But when i hook it up to the sundown amp i have to crank the gain knob pass 3/4 to get it to fully power up the SE sub at 2ohms. It's set with a 60hz test tone with a cheapy sears dmm. (i don't have an o-scope). RCA wires are from knuconcepts. When i measure the rca volts from the end of the RCA i register only 200 milli volt. why am i getting so little volts through my rca cable? RCA cable is One 5 Meter Klarity Kable Blue OFC RCA Cable with Built in Turn On lead. and i have about 5ft of it wrapped up nicely cause it's longer then i need it to be.

  6. i was reading the .5 wiring thread a while ago and somethin hit me that i'm curious about. The opti2000d by lanzar is the only amp they have that is 0.5ohm stable The Saz-1500d\3000d "used to" have 0.5 ohm warranty coverage until... well anyways. The opti2000d is 0.5 stable all day every day. Is this the case with SAZ amps as well or are they just lenient on below 1 ohm stability? The opti is the only class d amp i know of that is guaranteed to be stable at 0.5 ohms, so curious about this.

Wow it looks like nothing came up... So, i'm wanting to get a Sundown SAE-1000D to power my Fi Q10. My sub has dual 1ohm coils. My question is, what will i have to do to keep my amp from burning up if i wire it to .5ohms? If planning big three and a bigger battery. Any ideas? Thanks, Michael

bought it off sonicelectronix.com the website not the ebay store and everything works fine, the only thing i'm having an issue with is the fact that a week ago the dvd player showed video while the car was in park and now with the parking brake applied and the emergency brake, it still says "audio only" i'm thinkin theres a loose connection somewhere, worst case scenario i hope it's not the head unit itself. any advice?

  12. I recently picked up a 05 Impala, and due to a problem with my other car, am stripping out the wiring kit in it to throw in the impala. I have an Aftermarket deck in my other car (A Grand Am), but I believe it has a short or something thats screwing up my electrical system >=( Anyhow, I had a buddy do my wiring on the Grand Am, and since I didn't have a precut hole in the firewall, he ran it by the side of the door. Only problem is, in Arizona, the heat and weather is horrible, so the wire is hella faded and looks like it is being rubbed or something. So obviously I'm going to need to replace that. My question however is : Is there a hole already in the firewall that w…

ive been intrested in a in dash multimeadia player and i came across these, i dont feel like spending 800+ on an alpine or pioneer, so i thought these should be just fine..right? anyway, i narrowed it down to these 2 and it got average reviews from circuitcity and crutchfeild, but i cant really tell what the difference between the 2 besides the fact the vm9512 has 5 more watts rms....any help?? thanks ~ROB~ http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...M9412&tp=75 http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...M9512&tp=75

I was looking around for an amp to run my single 12 inch Crossfire BMF. I was looking for an amp that would put out around 500 watts at 2 ohms. I found the Kenwood kac-9103d for only $200 and its rated to put out 900 watts at 2ohms and its 1 ohm stable. Its CEA rated so I assume it puts out the power suggested. Has anyone ever ran one, or better yet tested one? Almost 1000 watts for only $200 from a well known car audio company just seems to good to be true. I have never personally ran Kenwood amps before, but at that price I am willing to give it a shot. All opinions are welcome. Peace, Lee

  15. I've got an old MTX Terminator high current amp but its missing the 5 pin connector for the speaker wire. Any idea where I can find one of those? Ebay doesnt seem to have any. The board was made by PPI but I'm not sure if the ppi 5 pin will work with this amp. heres a side view of the amp from ampguts.

I got a 9885 a week ago and was installing today. It's going into a 86 Mercedes so I connected everything temporarily to make sure the wiring was correct. After setting it up and running it for about 10 minuets the rear heat sink was to hot to touch. Normal? If not what might be causing this or do I need to return to BB?

OK.. I will have three amps. Fuse ratings of amps- 30, 40, 150... will my stock alt (125 amps), the big three, and a 18 farad cap be able to hold up? I got like an autocraft titanium battery too.. The cap is optional, since I know many of you believe caps don't work. I will be running 480 watts rms to 4 pairs of tweets 300 watts rms to speakers 1300 watts rms to the sub. I like to play my system all the way cranked for a long time... Will my electric be able to hold up to this, or am I going to need to buy a new alt?
