I hooked up a system for my buddy a year or so ago.. Just 1 Treo 12 and an audio pipe ap1500. Stock electrical. All has been good till yesterday.. His stock battery took a shut so he replaced it. Called me up to help him adjust the deck back where it was. I went through it and when I began turning it up the ampoules cuts out. Goes into protect for about 4 seconds and keeps on playing for another 5 seconds or so and does it again UNTILL I turn it down. I lowered the gain a little bit out of curiosity but same thing.. What can be causing this? Where do I start? This was a used amp when he bought it on CL so maybe the Amps taking a shit? Any help is appreciated.

does anyone know if this amp can do 0.5 ohm daily?

Hi, I'm sort of new to this, I searched the topic but didn't find what I was looking for so please be patient. I've been away from car audio for 7 or so years, a lot has changed and I would like to learn. I'm in the infancy of planning my stereo, I'm planning on running ~1500-2000watts RMS, the vehicle in question is a 1994 3/4 ton Suburban with a 454, 105 amp (I believe) alternator. I definitely plan to upgrade the battery and my ground and use 0 gauge wiring, what exactly do I look for in a battery and at my power levels would it be wise to run a second battery? Furthermore, how exactly does one wire a second battery? Should I upgrade my alternator as well? Or if it was…

hey folks I was hoping u fellas could help me on an amp decision. I think i finally got a pretty good box build at 2.5 cuft per woofer. I have two 12 RE SX 12D2's. I listen to alot of rap and R&B and while i am a lil concerned about SQ, I know i'm a bass head at heart. I want a beast of a daily driver but i also want to be able to take a crack at competitons say one comes my way... any suggestions?

I was at a local shop today browsing and I see a rf 3sixty .1 says he will take $199 for it. Seems decent as far as price. My plan is for my new Malibu I'm buying everything before I install. 2 sa12's, crescendo bc2000, fosgate t1 components, rf power t400.4..etc those things I have now. I want a clean sounding system that of course hits nice and hard. I have no experience with processors. The components will be in stock locations with no intentions of altering that. Installed a self exciting high output alternator worked fine once installed but once the car sits over night if the temperature drops below 30 degrees the next morning when I start the car I'm not charging, voltage is at 12.3 I have rev up to 3k still it takes probably 20 seconds or more before my voltage goes up to 15.1... on warm days and nights never an issue. .what could be causing this?

Do they make an LED meter so you can constantly monitor the output voltage of the amp?

can someone finish this diagram for me? keep in mind, i will have TWO sets of horns, and TWO relays. so i need to know how to hook up the one switch for both sets of horns, to both relays. also, i just need one fuse for both power wires going to the relays right? what amperage should i get? the horns are Hella Supertone 85115's.

Anybody using/have used this xover? Pros, cons, noise issues? As a now I'm running an Audio Control DQXS to cross my bass mids and tweets. My plan is to add the HK3X into the mix to bandpass the midbass and continue to let the DQXS handle the subs midrange and tweets.

I know that there are some good amp companies out there, i need a suggestion for, a single 3way comp set up front and 2 15" SI Mag D2s. Comp watts needed 400 total, 2 channel. Sub watts needed 2.5K-3K total mono/ or 2 mono d block amps. Any suggestions for these wattages... moneys not the issue but i dont wana spend alot. I want quality stuff. But not over the top. any suggestions welcome.

hey guyz..... got a question. i had planned on running 4 awg from the battery terminal down to the fuse and then on the other end of the fuse continue with 4 awg and then put a distribution block. then run 4 awg to the other amps from the block. is this ok? or no? running 4 amps, all the same gauge wire

I have a kx1200.1 and its acting very weird, when the car turns on it makes a clicking noise like it wants to turn on but it doesnt put out ne power ... or turn on ... any ideas what this could be?
