Hey so I was browsing woofersetc today and I came across this Clarion VZ400 Looks pretty nice for less than $400. I looked everywhere but I couldn't find a review. Anyone tried one of these or used a clarion head unit and know how they do? Looks like a steal to me so I'm just looking for second opinions.

I have a XS Power D3400 as my starting battery mounted in the engine compartment and an axuiliry D3400 mounted in my trunk. The batteries are wired in parallel with no isolator/relay. I have an alternator on order from DC Power but I have yet to receive it. My stock alternator is 90 amps. My system draw can be over 100 amps but I have it tuned down for now. I monitor my voltage which stays above 13.3 volts, worse case with engine running. I am concerned that I will damage my stock alternator and XS Power batteries with my system demands. I am getting more and more ticked that it is taking DC Power over 4 months to get me my alternator and I still do not know when I will h…

Hey, I was just wondering if there's any rule of thumb or some sort of math to see how many batteries you need. For example: If u have a 150A alt and a 170A draw. Will you be fine with just one batt or do you need another. This is just a theoretical scenario

ok i think i got it. check out the diagram, and tell me if its right. i heard that alot of amps will output a low freq or pop for a second when you turn the amp on, and to use a cap on each channel to not allow that freq. to get to my tweeters. the nominal load of each channel after i wire it up will be 1.5 ohm. so according to WinSD or whatever it is, it say that a 68uF 100V cap (with the 1.5 ohm load) will not let any freq under 1000ish Hz pass through that cap. is that right? i also have the Coustic XM6 (just ordered) which is 18dB per octave, and then the HPF on my amp is 12dB per octave, does that make my overall slope for the tweets 30dB? plus does the cap still add…

So I was reading about my 2002 jeep liberty (KJ) electrical system and found this The charging system of our KJ's is much different to ones in the past. I have been told that in an efforet to protect the PCM and other computer components in the KJ, the charging system draws from the battery FIRST and then calls on the Atl/Gen to re-plenish the battery as needed. That is why the new generation of Deep Cycle batteries work so well. They have the reserve power to allow the extra toys without needing to add the huge alt/gen of the past. As you use your lights, stereo, winches, what ever, they will be drawing from a battery that is not designed to power all that stuff. A deep …

It was called the Manhattan... It was 5 feet long & it required cooling lines. It was featured back in the day as a new product feature in a car audio magazine (early 90's?).
