I plan on running my sq 3500 @ 17 volts...has anybody had any problems with the amp at Tht voltage

Hi I'd like some advices to choose a 4ch amp with a budget of 450$ max. Please feel free to make some suggestions. For information, it will be connected to a Focal 165 KRX3. Any feedback on those ? Im currently checking out amplifiers to be used on an SQ setup in a sedan. Currently looking for good sounding amplifiers that have tremendous flexibilities on its crossover network. As of now all I have seen perfect would be from brand names such as DLS namely the ultimates and Audison namely the LRx. Are these the only options available with those requirements? i find it hard to look for amps with the same crossover functionality like those 2 that can do an active setup. Any other recomendations? Hoping to get feedback possibly that would not go over the said prices of the amps. Possible even cheaper than those two. The lower the price with the same quality and spec w…

Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.

I read on here that there's really no reason to buy the 9886 (or anything at that level) and that the OP should either go up or down. Lookin to pick up a new 4 channel to run mid and tweet in an active 3way. Anybody heard these ssa A/B demon amps? There is no info anywhere on them! They look awesome, fit the bill power wise and cheap as hell! Are they worth trying?

So I got home and had a package waiting for me. I picked up the 4 channel ssa amp when there was that friends and family sale going on. I was always on the fence about em but once that sale kicked off I just had to pick it up. Loved the pics of it and in. Person this amp is beautiful and has a nice strong solid build feel to it. Im replacing my hifonics Zeus 2000.4 amp so I can't wait to hear the quality this amp puts out. It it will be powering a pair of 8" Rockford pro audio. A pair of Rockford punch 6x9, pair of the ssa evil mids. And evil tweeters. Just thought id share. I don't see much of real hands on experiences with the amps.

no upgrded alternator yet but im in the process of looking for one for a 2003 saturn ion, the stock alternator is 105 amps. the starting battery is stock and i will be getting a xs power d2400 for my secondary battery for the 3000 watt rms system first and then change my starting battery. i wanted to know which one would be better just for starting purposes even though i know red tops are designed just for starting a vehicle best. i have researched and heard pros for a yellow and pros for a red, why would i want a yellowtop as a starting battery if i have a xs power battery in the back?

I just installed an avionixx 440.4 amp into my rsx and I am hearing 'static' distortion coming through all my speakers. The distortion, though slight, 'plays' along with each note of the song if that makes any sense to anyone. I was thinking of adding a noise suppressor but I am not sure if that would be another waste of money. I am begining to think perhaps the amp is a defect or just not up to snuff for the job (quality-wise). Any body know how to hookup your steering wheels controls to your aftermarket head unit? I just installed my Kenwood KDC-138 and the only thing that could make me happier would be to control the volume with ease

Last weekend I hooked up a Rockford fosgate p400-4 to my jvc kd-r810 and everything was fine untill today. I went to a friends house and it worked fine but on my way back home the sound would just cut in and out when I turned the volume past 10... At first I thought it was my iPod cable but it does the same thing when I play CDs too. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Hello forum folks. I have a 2004 Buick park avenue that I am wanting to install a system into. I have run into one problem...I was about to buy a standard wiring harness when I was told that I would need a "data harness" due to my car having onStar even though I dont use it. If anybody has had any experience in installing a head unit into 2000 and up GM with onstar your assistance would be greatly appreciated. If anybody could link me to the proper harness it would be appreciated as well...as I am trying to avoid paying a shop $700 to install my system. Thanks

this is my first stereo install and im a little confused. i see that the harness that plugs into the stereo has a longer black ground wire. my adapter harness has a black wire for a ground wire to attach. ive heard that youre supposto ground the stereo to the metal inside the dash. will it be okay leaving the ground wire on the harness that plugs into the factory plug left un touched. will everything function properly? should i NOT solder them but instead ground it in the dash? also the p connect is for the remote wire right?

A buddy of mine just got a new 2010 Silverado. He took the old head-unit out of his other truck to put in this truck. The HU is a pioneer in-dash double din, not sure which model but it's fairly new. His harness for the old truck (an older silverado 00-05) is not the same for this new truck. We've looked everywhere for a compatible harness but cannot find one. The stereo also doesn't fit where stock double din was, so I guess we will need a dash kit too. Any help would be VERY appreciated. These new vehicles piss me off.. Here is the stock stereo

Yesterday we put the stereo in my cousin's Silverado. We had a remote wire problem and need to pull the HU out today. We noticed last night that his dome lights won't turn off now, even after pulling the key and shutting the doors for a while. It's never done this before until now, is there any chance fixing the remote wire will solve this problem?? Thanks

I have a small Merlin us amp for my mids in my s10 pick up. Whenever I listen to the radio for even less then 5 minutes when my truck is not started it completely drains the battery to the point where it has to be jumped. I had purchased a new battery and still have the same problem, so I had the battery and altenator tested and they are fine. Nothing else drains the battery except listening to the radio for a very short period of time. What could be the problem, any suggestions? Please help

Need some help and thoughts. When I crank my system and it starts hitting the low bass notes the engine idle falls and it almost kills the truck. It never did this with my old system. Here is a break down of the old system and the new sytem. I've asked around and no one seems to have an idea other than that the pg amps are power hungry. Old system JL 1000/1 2 JL 12W6 JL 300/4 200 amp alt 2 awg from batt to the fuse block and 4 awg to amps.
