In my 2017 Ram SLT, there is installed a 10.4” Tesla-style Head unit with 1024X768 screen resolution. It looks for all the world like the PhoenixAndroidRadios unit pictured at the beginning of the thread listed above. The top icon row is: Navigation Radio Music Console Bluetooth Video AUX After some time, I accidentally discovered that by swiping this to the left, more icons appeared: Explorer Phone Link Settings App list DVR File manager Camera Within Settings | About, I discovered this: Model number RKPX3 (px3 manufactured by Rockchip) Android version 7.1.1 Nowhere did I see a name of the maker of the Head unit itself. …

I need to update my double din head unit and looking for some recommendations from experienced people. I have used Alpine iLX-207 which offered me 7 inches touch screen which was easy for me to access all features. The most great thing for me about this head unit is that I can easily manage the system via the screen or from the steering wheel to use Apple Car Play or Android Auto. But recently it stopped working and just showing the dark screen (as its very long I have not upgraded it). Now I am thinking of upgrading it rather than repairing. I have check out few reviews and got various recommendations from few people. I am impressed with this review: https://speake…

What's up everyone! I am starting to learn more and more about systems and tuning them correctly. I have a mtx 421d am with a 8inch American bass sub, I need some help on how to tune the amp and what songs you guys recommend. It hits hard with low bass music but with bands or other k8nda bass it doesn't hit right or it won t hit.

Hello, I have problem with choosing speakers (I'm just new in car audio), but I got 2 power amplifiers - CONCORD CA 2075 (300W),they are both 2 channel. One of them is bridged and connected to bass tube (raveland 400W). Second one will be connected to 4 speakers (2 x front 165mm, 2 x rear 130mm) , and I need to buy them, but I don't know how to compute how much Watts those speakers should have when i will connect them to this 300W power amplifier, which would have 2 speakers connected to + and - "left" and next 2 speakers for + and - "right". (You don't need to give me models of speakers cause idk if they will be available in my country, just give me how much watts they s…

Hey, guys. I could really use to help. I have a side by side with an audio system consisting of a tiny Bluetooth “head unit” with a strange DIN audio output, a 4 channel amp, 4 6x9s, and a 10” subwoofer. (Made by Pro Box). All this stuff is in the roof of the vehicle. I want to add another subwoofer to the system. How can I add another amp? I’m attaching photos of the head unit, amplifier, and a cable that I think might be my solution but I’m not sure. I believe the mini din wire is the audio output from the head unit and that there are no red and white RCA cables. I could be wrong. I have not torn into the roof enclosure yet. If someone has knowledge of t…

I noticed Down 4 Sound shop just came out with their own LTO battery. D4S 6 LTO. For 2 of those batteries, it would be rated 6k-10k watts. How would that compare to a 80ah Yinlong LTO bank? Thanks

All my previous amps have had a ssf with a 24db slope I have set 1/2 octave below tuning. My new amp has 12db slope and is 2000 watts more power than my old amp . My tuning is at 33hz on two sundown U10 putting 2500 to each sub so would best bet be to set the ssf at the tuning?

Due to my battery hookup location and the fact that it will be nearly impossible to get a 0 gauge wire on it unless I rewire the alternator and main power line toa new battery block, how bad would it be to run 4 gauge wire to a fuse block and 0 gauge afterwards? According to charts 4 gauge should be able to handle up to 300 Amos if it is a short length. So will battery —> fuse (4 gauge 1 ft long) —> distribution block (0 gauge guessing 13 ft long). Will this work ok?

Has anyone had experience with the Orion 2500.1dz model amplifier? I heard rumors of it running extremely hot. I want to run my two American Bass XFL 1224’s @ 1ohm and I’m kinda on the fence choosing between the Orion and Taramps MD5000.1. Any advice?

I picked up a 125.4D from my repair tech..never heard one but he said it puts out more than rated and sounds pretty clean. I will soon find out. Just curious the deal on the amps and company., Most of what I have seen is not that favorable but I dont know if that is the owner or the product. my tech is a engineer and he reverse engineered the amp and had good things to say about it. better quality that he has seen in a while.

Both my amps were working fine “twisted sounds 150.4”, but since one of the rcas outputs broke off I decided to change all to Tiffany style rcas. My issue i’m having now when I try to adjust the fader on HU to front the rear speakers still play but little lower & vise versa & balance is the same issue. Also when I turn on my vehicle it has engine noise through speakers now. The single solder between ch1,2 & 3,4 is + & the duals above them are grounds for 1,2,3,4.

I am new to car audio so please pardon any ignorance found in my questions: I recently added a self Powered sub (memphis) to my aftermarket radio (kenwood) The sub is an enclosed unit I have power at the box. when I plug in both RCA cables I dont get any sound, however I can unplug one of the cables at the box and the sub sounds fine (to my untrained ear). I was just curious as to what might be causing this. Any answers would be appreciated Thanks

Hey new here. So i own a skar 1500.1d. Have it hooked up to a sundown sa10, and works great. One "issue" ive ran into is when i turn the bass knob halfway up it gets loud (obviously). But anywhere past that it doesnt seem to get any louder or gain any volume. Im confused as to why it does that. I have tuned everything with the SMD-DD1 properly so im confused atm. I had a thought that it might be because i tuned it at 0db but im playing -7.5db music. But technically speaking there shouldn't be a "cutoff" point in volume. Any feedback would be helpful.

So I wired up my brothers bmw, put in a pioneer HU and ran power to a 1200 watt amp with 2 12” subs. Now the 1st amp worked for a few months then just turned off, the 2nd and 3rd worked for a week. I checked and double checked all wires and there’re good. He took it to a radio shop and they said it was because his power and ground wires weren’t pure copper, he left with the system working and the next day the amp went into protection mode. Also the amps were blowing fuses, can anyone give me some advice on what the issue may be. Thanks in advance

What happened: was running pioneer avic d3 with backup camera...one day backup camera started not working at random times and I wanted Bluetooth radio so I replaced head unit with pioneer mvh-300ex. Since doing so my head unit does not turn off with ignition (or door open+Truck off) The Wiring: I’ve checked the obvious and my HU power is correctly hooked up to red wires and the yellows are correctly hooked up as well. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Alright guys. I picked up a Hifonics BXX2000.1D for my Fi BLv3 18. A good friend of mine has a scope, so we dialed in gains on a 0db 50hz test tone. I have the electrical to feed it. I’m able to maintain voltage at full tilt. I was reading about power and impedance rise and decided to clamp the amp and get some readings for myself. I’ll save you the time in telling me “it’s a hifonics amp, you get what you pay for... etc” I’m fully aware. I plan on going Sundown this spring with tax money. However, I’ve ran a few HF amps in the past and have been satisfied. I ran test tones at full tilt, 20hz to 55hz, measured AC voltage at speaker output termin…
