I just installed a hifonics Zeus zrx3000.1d. I was wondering if a 4 gauge big 3 upgrade would help with the light dimming and give the amp more consistent power? Any ideas? If so, I saw on knukonCeptz.com that they had 4 gauge wire for 95 cents per foot.

Looking into getting a new head unit and want to get a digital reciever. Does anybody already have one and how do you like it? I havent bought a CD in i dont kow when and listen to my Ipod more than the radio, so losing the CD playback wont be a problem to give up. They all have the same basic features that i am looking for with the main difference being with the Sony's Ipod tray. My friend and I are installing this head unit: Dual XDVD8183 All In-Dash Car Stereo Receivers Car Stereo Receivers and Head Units Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix and there is only one output for the subwoofer amp. So instead of a red and white one there is only a blue one for the subwoofer out. There are two normal ones for the front and rear, so could we just use the rear outputs? Also there is a single center output, could you use this along with the single subwoofer out? I can take pictures if needed.

My son bought this amp and we know nothing about it. It is metallic purple and says US AMPS made in Florida on the top and the end says High Definition Reference Amplifier.

Well today at the TBP bass wars event, I found out that I'm not getting any voltage readout off the RCA's from the headunit. Tried it with several meters and it wont register anything, just shows 0.00 .....So apparently, I'm not getting any RCA voltage input to the amplifiers... Someone suggested I needed a line driver to solve this problem. My question being, would this solve the probem....being that I can get a cleaner signal and can adjust it to the voltage I want.. ? Here's what i have Excessive Amperage 180 amp alt. 110 at idle big three plus more doen in 1/0 ga optima yellow 19 feet 1/0 ga to the trunk 5 inches of 1/0 from amp to ground MTX thunder elite 1501d during testing yesterday i found that on the voltmeter mounted in the dash (aftermarket) it would drop down to 12.3 and lower during a romp on the new xcon. i haven't tested at the amp yet but shouldn't the volt meter be a good indication of the drop in the rear? the alt tested out good the last time we had it benchtested by excessive. any clues or ideas?

So lastnight I installed a digital volt meter in my dash, and today I noticed that when starting the car it reads around 14.5v, when not running it reads around 12.8v...However driving around a bit I see my voltage drop down to around 12.8v, not staying at 14.5v, even if I'm not pushing my subwoofers... Is this normal? I assume it has something to do with the alternator?

just a fast question guys i have an 18" btl fully loaded, i have it running off a saz-2000D. i have my sub wired down to 1 ohm. my question is, should i have my sub wired to the amp bridged or not? right now i dont have it bridged and it slaps hard. but i just saw a vid with the same setup pretty much and his was bridged on the amp thanks an advance fellaz

My bro wants to put a lil somethin in his boat while he is up in alaska. Since he is going to be in salt water, is there such thing as a 4 guage wire that wont corrode from the salt water?

I have a hifonics bxi2010 and wanted to know if its safe to run this amp a .5 ohm. I have a 200 amp alt, 2 runs of 1/0 wire, and 2 c&d batts in the back. Thanks in advance.

after seeing some reviews on the audiopipes i was thinking about buying one to see what it really can do. but i wont buy from a dealer that don't have a decent warrenty or a authorized dealer. i saw some rickies electronics or something... the 30001d they said it was 15inches long... i keep getting these "dealers" with false information.

Hey guys this car is very competitive in the Street Class here in Australia and i was wondering what the amplifiers are? I know the subs are custom drivers made in Australia but the owner is tight liped on what the amplifers are, i was hoping someone might know what they are... Thanks

My friend wants me to put these in his truck and I want to get everything out of them both. The sub is single 2 ohms 300 watts rms, and the amp is 300 watts bridged at 4 ohms and 150 wattsx2 at 2ohms. Is there some way i can wire it to get the 300 watts or is he going to have to deal with the 150 or get new equipment? Thanks

hello guys i was wondering would it be ok to run 1 sub that is 150 watts rms off a 4 channel amp and run front speakers in a car on the other 2 channels of the amp ?

I bought a DC Power 250xp alt over a year ago for my 2011 Malibu. Been sitting in the garage ever since. I've found out my vehicle is PCM controlled. Is there going to be any kind of upgrade installing this thing? Did I waste $650 by not doing my homework? My system isn't anything huge but I have a 2nd battery in the back that doesn't seem to be keeping voltage up. As far as amps a sundown 1500 and a fosgate t400.4. I tried listing the alt for sale but no bites. Basically should I even bother installing this thing? DC quoted $130 to recase this. Maybe recase for my 03 Tahoe (if its not PCM controlled?)

I know how to set the gains with a DMM by reading the sticky post by im confused on 2 things 1)when setting a 4 channel amp with 2 gains(1 for each 2 channels)how do you get each gain?my amp puts out 75w x 4(@ 4ohm) 2)When it said if ur amp puts out more watts than ur subs can handle use the watts of the subs instead.so lets just say a amp is 1500w @ 2ohm and the subs is 600w each so do i add the watts of the subs and find the square root of them then measure the volts?(For example 600w x 2ohm =1200-squarerooted = 34.6v)

will you notice any deferents between a deck with a 95 db signal to noise ratio or a deck with a 105 db. With 2 volt out puts and also the same ? with 4 v out

i want to meter my car but everyone i hear about with a meter shits out on me when its time to meet up.... so i wanna buy an epic 160 to meter only... nothing else... has anyone used these? how accurate are they to a term lab? can i use this meter to learn my sweet spot ?

Got my alternator in and hooked up today, but had a few issues. First of all, the new alt came with a different plug. One of the wires was longer than the other three, and it was in the exact same place that there was a wire on the original plug (the original is a 4-pin, but there is only one wire leading into it. This one wire is in the same location as the one long wire in the new plug). I decided to just use the old plug, as the other three plugs on the new pin are insignificant. what is the best way to set ur amps using lpf, hpf and your subsonic filer. what is the purpose of lpf and hpf. the box that i am using is sealed. the subs that i am running are kicker cvx's (1000 watt rms) and i am using hifoinics amps (2000 watt rms, i know they really rnt) and i run my subs at 1 ohm.

i just got my autotek mean machine 1500 hooked up to my 2 type r 12s and i got the ssf at 35 and the lpf at 80...what do you guys run yours at or suggest i run them at

I've looked around a bit and could not find a small v belt pulley for my Denso alt. 3/8 shaft I believe. Looking for something in like the 2 " range. Anyone know where I can get one? Need the right nut for it.too.
