Like the topic says. I just installed an electric fan to my truck and have noticed a slight voltage drop when the fans kick in. With the system I have in the truck, I'm wondering If this might be something I need to do. I need some help on this cause I'm pretty clueless with this. I have a kx1200.1 and its acting very weird, when the car turns on it makes a clicking noise like it wants to turn on but it doesnt put out ne power ... or turn on ... any ideas what this could be?

So I have a friend that wants to replace her amp and sub that came with her 07 Ford Edge. The sub sucks and the amp just doesn't have enough power for her. Is there a way to install an after market amp wihout having to buy a processor like a RF 3sixty or AudioContro DSP? Sorry if this is a silly question, I would like to tell her all her options. I was wondering if anyone on here uses or dislikes the powerbass xa3000 and if you use it did you have any problem with it. i already have an orion 2500d on my sub but i also have had this powerbass sitting in my room because it was in protect mode and a local repairer said he couldnt fix it. i just want to see if its worth fixing i only bought it for 150 bucks and would it be better than the 2500d?

I have a 1.5 farad capacitor a friend gave me and I'd like to put it to some good use. I have a small mtx amp powering a pair of JL coaxial 5.25" speakers and a punch800.2 bridged for my RE HC 12". I understand some people are against using caps but I have one so I might as well use it. And generally they are used for the amp powering the sub however, in my case I highly doubt it would do anything noticable. So here's my question: What would happen if I hooked up the cap to the MTX amp that is powering the front speakers? Would that give the MTX amp a little extra boost? I believe it's a mtx roadthunder and it's pushing maybe 50rms total.

well just like the topic title suggests i have a problem with my amp. i have 2 2400's and i strapped them to my FI BTL 18. one amp per coil. amps are stable to 2 ohms i have dual 2 ohm coils. now im pretty sure the amps dont truley strap together but they have the slave copy master switch to match gains and xovers well i set them up how the book said and it was workin but just didnt sound like i had 2 amps on the sub. so i started foolin with the switches. well needless to say i messed up onw of the amps and also blew my sub, both coils. now one amp is fine and works perfectly it was the master amp. the slave amp still works but when i turn the LPF up it makes a buzzi…

Hey I just ordered one one these little guys dual voice coil http://www.tcsounds.com/forums/index.php?s...c=1013&st=0 I haven't had to buy an amp in a long time and dont know whats the good budget amp for now adays. I've thought about the Alpine MRD-M1005, the Hifonics ZXi1006 and even the new Phoenix Gold RSd1200.1. Whats probably my best bet from those? They can all be found for around $300, which is the price I'd like to stay at. Any other recomendations would be awesome too. Thanks to all who can help

is there a technical way of finding out how much power an amp puts out @ 3 ohm? my boston pro60s are 3 ohm, and i was thinkin about gettin a zx550.2, and thats 205w rms x 2 @ 2 ohm, and i think 175 @ 4, i could take a ball park guess around like 190ish maybe, but is there an actual way to figure that out with math, or do i gotta get the amp, get a DMM, etc etc? VJ

I just wanted to post this to see what some people are using. I didn't want to do a poll or anything because this could vary. I'm currently using some Streetwire Z2 series in the truck. They seem to do the job. I'm thinking I may replace them with something else in the future. So tell me what you've got. Thanks

Hey guys, I am having an issue with my amp I am wondering if my RCA's are bad, I had them loose in the trunk while my amp was uninstalled, could they have touched and burnt out or something, I didnt tape them off, only the power wire and ground, I didnt think they needed to be taped off as well. But my amp is sounding unright! the output is very low, I turned the gain up to max and it does not sound like a 1200 watt amp should sound, I dont know if that makes sense. im currently running a Zapco 360.4 brigded 180x2 for my componenets and a Xtant 301a regulated 300w (old school pre MTX) for my sub... huge fan of US made amps, both amps i know for sure are underrated and are badass amps, but im stuck i have an opportunity to pick up 2 audison amps for about 600 bucks... the LXr4.300 and the LXr1.400... i know audison makes great high end amps, but these are their middle end stuff... i was just wondering if it would be worth it to replace my current setup w/ the audisons has anyone tried the LXr line out? thnx for lookin

Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.
