Well, I'm pretty set on buying a new clarion HU. It doesn't have the most flexible crossover built-in so I will need an electronic crossover to go with it. The main feature I need is having the ability to do a 3-way(high,mid,(possible future midbass), sub) setup with the mids lowpassed at 2+ khz frequency. My midbass amp(Eclipse XA2000) only goes up to 500hz so I need to find something. I'm willing to go up to $500 but hopefully I can save a few bucks. Right now, I'm lookin at the digital units but they are pricy. Any other cheaper solutions to this? I'm looking at audiocontrol but having a hard time finding online dealers(not many local and pricy) and Memphis but can't …

Anyone have experience with the massive audio P30001? http://massivemulti-media.com/store/index....p;products_id=4 The prices are very low right now on e-bay and it looks good. If it's as good as it looks does anyone know if it can handle say a 1.4 ohm load with good power supply or is it a rigid 2 ohms? I was thinking of running one of these to A btl 15". what do you guys think? Hope this makes sense I am undercaffenated.

  7. this amp does over 800rms from 4-1ohm making it VERY versatile. it's small and can fit all over, it has SICK on board xovers/subsonic, 24dB per octave I believe, built in cooling fan. just over built in general and a sick amp. I always see people going with other amps because they just don't know what they're missing... see the vid in my sig of one x600.1 pushing a single DD 9510F and tell me another budget 600watt amp that'll do that.. I'll propmtly reply with a good smiley from another forum

Does a car battery need to be grounded to something in order for it to work properly? The reason I ask this is because a friend and myself are doing a school project (we have to design an entire business), and we thought it would be cool to make a movable car audio display. It would contain some OEM speakers from my Lumina, as well as my friend's Kicker L5 8", Audiobahn amp, a Kenwood head unit I've got laying around, and my car's battery that I'm soon to be replacing. We're thinking of hooking the amp and H.U. directly to the battery (well, fused of course), with a switch on the H.U.'s power lead so that we can turn it on/off that way. The ground for the amp and H.U. w…

Hey quick question guys/gals I have an optima yellow top i just recently bought.... 34/78 I know others have mentioned hooking there bat straight to the cars battery (parallel if you will) without any problems, YET on the optima website it states: 9. Can I hook an OPTIMA up in parallel with my other battery? No, when hooking batteries together in parallel they should be of identical make, model, and of similar age. So can anyone confirm that there is no harm in hooking my optima in parallel with my car stock battery? tried to search this but found no info

  10. I'm lookin at a few units with time alignment and won't break the bank. Eclipse and Clarion are the ones I've paid specific attention to. I kinda want to keep my Eclipse 8053 but would like some of the new features like USB/bluetooth. I am looking at HUs with time alignment and possibly a decent crossover built in but not necessary as I am thinkin of getting an external one. Anyone with first-hand experience or links to reviews?

yep..we have one at the shop..lol.. here's a link at crutchfield anyway, in person, this thing looks sweet. our manager is thinking of dropping it in his car for demo. what are your thoughts on this? good or bad? we are thinking, since it can send/recieve anything bluetooth, ie: play the mp3s off your phone, display your contact list, etc...if one had a bluetooth enabled laptop, you'd never, ever need to buy cd's again... again, thoughts? if chris puts this in car, i'll post updates... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have a chance to buy a Diamond D7 D7054 for a pretty good deal, BNIB. My question is, should i buy it and put my bass on hold. I can get the d7054 now and get my new subwoofer amplifier later, and get my Fi Q about a month later. The good news is i could sell off my eclipse ea4000 to try and re-coup what i lost in buying the legendary d7 amp. Some of the things i have going on right now. Looking to get a h/o alt and a kinetik hc1400/1800 Upgrading to 1/0 power and grounds, and doing the big 3. Maybe eventually getting a new front sound stage.

Plan on using the Hifonics, rated at 750w rms for my SSD 12" coming in soon but I was thinking about a JL 500/1 which is a class D versus A/B on the Hifonics. Is $150 a good deal for a used JL 500/1? I would think the JL offers a clean 500w and I've read the Hifonics are overrated. Which one would you guys go for? Thanks! Sunny

ive narrowed it down to these few: optima yellow top(are there different models? g31 or something) svr 80-12 oddssey 1700 oddssey 2150 Deka intimidator oddssey = stinger, right? dont know how many of each i will run, i know tho if i run like the 1700, i would have to get more than if i run the 2150, since the 2150 is bigger right? as of now i have the 2 15" mts and 2 orion d5000's. im looking for a third of each, and POSSIBLY a 4th. i'd love to have 4 15" mts and 4 d5000's!!!!!

Well, I got a new car yesterday and I am in the process of making the exhaust more quiet, but I am trying to figure out what I should get system-wise, as I have pretty much been out of the loop for a year or so. The system is going in a 2002 Trans Am WS.6 (cammed, full exhaust, 12 bolt rear, a few suspension mods, etc.) HU: I am looking at the Pioneer DEH-P880PRS with the iPod adapter for my iPod. I have always been a fan of Pioneer HUs and this one just looks sweet. Components: I am torn between getting a set of Focal 165 K2Ps and getting a set of Rainbow Profi-Vandium Kick bass 2 way components. Any other suggestions in the $500-600 range would be considered.
