  2. I've had my KD-ADV6160 for about 2 years now, and havn't had any problems with it, it's a dvd player and in my last truck I did heavy offroading and could hardly skip it, and I mean getting all 4 tires 2 feet in the air and not having it skip when I landed... my buddy and I swear by these decks and I recommend them to anyone wanting a GOOD decent priced dvd player. their cd/mp3 players are equally good imo, my buddy had one in his F150 that he totaled for about a year, and never had a problem with it. when he ran over a ford focus with his truck, it skipped a little but went right back on and both cars were totaled, he went up over it lol. these are a good lasting deck im…

  3. this amp does over 800rms from 4-1ohm making it VERY versatile. it's small and can fit all over, it has SICK on board xovers/subsonic, 24dB per octave I believe, built in cooling fan. just over built in general and a sick amp. I always see people going with other amps because they just don't know what they're missing... see the vid in my sig of one x600.1 pushing a single DD 9510F and tell me another budget 600watt amp that'll do that.. I'll propmtly reply with a good smiley from another forum

I have a chance to buy a Diamond D7 D7054 for a pretty good deal, BNIB. My question is, should i buy it and put my bass on hold. I can get the d7054 now and get my new subwoofer amplifier later, and get my Fi Q about a month later. The good news is i could sell off my eclipse ea4000 to try and re-coup what i lost in buying the legendary d7 amp. Some of the things i have going on right now. Looking to get a h/o alt and a kinetik hc1400/1800 Upgrading to 1/0 power and grounds, and doing the big 3. Maybe eventually getting a new front sound stage.

  5. I'm lookin at a few units with time alignment and won't break the bank. Eclipse and Clarion are the ones I've paid specific attention to. I kinda want to keep my Eclipse 8053 but would like some of the new features like USB/bluetooth. I am looking at HUs with time alignment and possibly a decent crossover built in but not necessary as I am thinkin of getting an external one. Anyone with first-hand experience or links to reviews?

Plan on using the Hifonics, rated at 750w rms for my SSD 12" coming in soon but I was thinking about a JL 500/1 which is a class D versus A/B on the Hifonics. Is $150 a good deal for a used JL 500/1? I would think the JL offers a clean 500w and I've read the Hifonics are overrated. Which one would you guys go for? Thanks! Sunny

so when i put my latest head unit into my car, i left a cd in my old unit, and i have been trying to get it out. i have a power supply that i plan to hook up to it, but i can't figure out where to hook my wires up to, so i need a diagram to find out where to hook my positive and negative leads....any one know where i can get a diagram? the unit is a Clarion ProAudio DRX6375. i googled and eBay'd and all i found was a picture of the diagram but the seller on eBay made it microscopic because he only wanted buyers looking at it.

yep..we have one at the shop..lol.. here's a link at crutchfield anyway, in person, this thing looks sweet. our manager is thinking of dropping it in his car for demo. what are your thoughts on this? good or bad? we are thinking, since it can send/recieve anything bluetooth, ie: play the mp3s off your phone, display your contact list, etc...if one had a bluetooth enabled laptop, you'd never, ever need to buy cd's again... again, thoughts? if chris puts this in car, i'll post updates... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I sold my eclipse cd8445, so as of now I'm without a hu. I was gonna get the 780mp but most people say the 880prs has so many more features. The 880 is like 300 give or take a few bucks on ebay I believe...now...I know the carputer will be more money, but I've wanted to have one for a while now, and I'm thinking...why buy a 300 dollar hu, and then in a year or 6 months replace it with a carputer? How would this work with my setup? Would it sound as good as the 880? Basically I want It becuase I have like 30 gigs of songs on my pc, so I can just play them from the hd instead of having multiple cds. What do you guys think I should do? I want to run an active front stage. I am using an AC DQX and an Audison VRx 4.300. Here is a clip out of the manual: Is this the correct way to wire the set up? I just want another opinion before I run my tweeet off the bandpass output of the DQX, or something along those lines. (sorry for the crap diagram, but the middle section is the RCA inputs, and the speaker terminals are on the outsides). Thanks.

I and a friend (electrical engineer) are going to build an amp for a custom install. Anyone here done this? We are in need of some manufacturing parts. We need to find a generic amp case, dc/dc boost converter 12v to 40v 1000watts, and misc parts like terminal blocks and such. We can sacrafice on old US amps for parts but would love to build it with all new stuff! BTW its going to be a 150watt per channel x5 amp for in car theater!

Well, I got a new car yesterday and I am in the process of making the exhaust more quiet, but I am trying to figure out what I should get system-wise, as I have pretty much been out of the loop for a year or so. The system is going in a 2002 Trans Am WS.6 (cammed, full exhaust, 12 bolt rear, a few suspension mods, etc.) HU: I am looking at the Pioneer DEH-P880PRS with the iPod adapter for my iPod. I have always been a fan of Pioneer HUs and this one just looks sweet. Components: I am torn between getting a set of Focal 165 K2Ps and getting a set of Rainbow Profi-Vandium Kick bass 2 way components. Any other suggestions in the $500-600 range would be considered. Subs: I r…

Looking around for a new head unit I've found that the majority of units from reputable companies (save alpine) dont have pause in their mid level units. Kenwood, Pioneer, Eclipse...none of them have pause in the $2-$300 range. My CD3434 doesnt have pause. Even sony units lack pause. Pioneer and Kenwood's lower units have pause and all of their highest units have pause...but in between it seems to be the companies think we dont like to pause our music or compeat... /rant

What are some good 16v batts I can get to run my soundstream xxx10000 off of(10,000w rms @ 1 ohm, wanna get the most I can outta this amp...and that rating is at 16v...)? I know a guy selling 4 turbostart s16va's for 400 shipped, and he said he installed them but never used them, so they're basically like new. What other brands are out there? Interstate? Powermaster? Kinetic? Should I get a bunch of 8v's and wire them to make 16v? Also if I do buy those 4 turbostarts, will that be enough for my amp, or will I need more? This will be for daily use and I'm gonna run a seperate alt to charge them, I don't want the little regulator thing to switch from 12 to 16... Thanks in …

Hey guys, I already have a 200amp alternator, Exide Orbital Extreme 34XCD battery, big 3 upgrade, and 2-gauge running about 14-15 feet to the hatch, protected by a 200-amp ANL fuse by the battery, with a 3-farad capacitor in the hatch... My old setup that I am upgrading required about 40-50 amps for items other than the stereo (nitrous system, massive fuel pump, etc) as well as about 90 for the old stereo setup, thus about 130-140 amps at most, so the 2-gauge wiring was just fine with the 3-farad cap thrown in for good measure... Now, I am upgrading the amps and speakers in my setup and am looking at about 1500-1700watts RMS, thus about 160-170 amps for the stereo alone, …
