I want to run an active front stage. I am using an AC DQX and an Audison VRx 4.300. Here is a clip out of the manual: Is this the correct way to wire the set up? I just want another opinion before I run my tweeet off the bandpass output of the DQX, or something along those lines. (sorry for the crap diagram, but the middle section is the RCA inputs, and the speaker terminals are on the outsides). Thanks.

I and a friend (electrical engineer) are going to build an amp for a custom install. Anyone here done this? We are in need of some manufacturing parts. We need to find a generic amp case, dc/dc boost converter 12v to 40v 1000watts, and misc parts like terminal blocks and such. We can sacrafice on old US amps for parts but would love to build it with all new stuff! BTW its going to be a 150watt per channel x5 amp for in car theater!

Looking around for a new head unit I've found that the majority of units from reputable companies (save alpine) dont have pause in their mid level units. Kenwood, Pioneer, Eclipse...none of them have pause in the $2-$300 range. My CD3434 doesnt have pause. Even sony units lack pause. Pioneer and Kenwood's lower units have pause and all of their highest units have pause...but in between it seems to be the companies think we dont like to pause our music or compeat... /rant

Hey guys, I already have a 200amp alternator, Exide Orbital Extreme 34XCD battery, big 3 upgrade, and 2-gauge running about 14-15 feet to the hatch, protected by a 200-amp ANL fuse by the battery, with a 3-farad capacitor in the hatch... My old setup that I am upgrading required about 40-50 amps for items other than the stereo (nitrous system, massive fuel pump, etc) as well as about 90 for the old stereo setup, thus about 130-140 amps at most, so the 2-gauge wiring was just fine with the 3-farad cap thrown in for good measure... Now, I am upgrading the amps and speakers in my setup and am looking at about 1500-1700watts RMS, thus about 160-170 amps for the stereo alone, …

What are some good 16v batts I can get to run my soundstream xxx10000 off of(10,000w rms @ 1 ohm, wanna get the most I can outta this amp...and that rating is at 16v...)? I know a guy selling 4 turbostart s16va's for 400 shipped, and he said he installed them but never used them, so they're basically like new. What other brands are out there? Interstate? Powermaster? Kinetic? Should I get a bunch of 8v's and wire them to make 16v? Also if I do buy those 4 turbostarts, will that be enough for my amp, or will I need more? This will be for daily use and I'm gonna run a seperate alt to charge them, I don't want the little regulator thing to switch from 12 to 16... Thanks in …

ok first off, i know how you guys are lol, so please dont flame me. i need help with what crossovers to get/should i just get custom ones? now, this is what i currently have: 8 eminence apt80 tweeters, 6 eminence 6.5" midrange, and 2 eminence 6.5" midbass. i didnt realize it would be easier to set up the crossovers if i had the same number of midrange and tweets. so im gonna get 2 more 6.5" midrange, and mount them in the wall behind me. the other 6 will be in the front doors, 3 per side. there will be 4 tweets per side. and the 2 midbass will be in the kicks. now. this guy i was talking with said to run 2 seperate amps. one for the midbass, and one for the midrange/tweet…

Im just wondering what one of these runs for new. I found out that one of the local shops is a dealer. Before i go walking in there to fart on their knowledge like is my monthly ritual i'd like to know what these run for. Depending i may bite it and buy one assumeing it has the pause feature. I like the look of the CD3434 but i like the plain/almost stock look MUCH better.

Ok, so ive had my 8053 for about two months now and I am completely in love. so in love, I was telling my girlfriend the other night that if my truck ever caught on fire I would actually take the 8053 out before saving anything else...lol I wanna add XM to the truck, no need to try to get me to pick sirius they dont have Baseball. My dilema here is that my favorite team (Oakland A's) is on the West coast and I am on the East coast, that also kinda helps because I work the 11pm to 7am shift and I could bring the radio in with me and continue to listen. I am looking at getting the XM MYfi because I can take it everywhere I go. So I guess my question is what do I need to ho…

Say you have 1 amp with or without an internal crossover that you intend to use for a set of components with an external passive crossover. Is it necessary to utliize the amp internal crossover or another external crossover in addition to the component crossover? OR is it enough to filter out the low frequencies with only the passive component crossover? Thanks for input

Soo what is a good idle amperage for the alternator to have? I've been doin alot of searchin and research, but never really found the answer to this question. I've seen 200a alts that only put out 60-100a at idle. I've also seen 200a alts that put out 100+ at idle. what is a good rating? i know u can get a smaller pulley to make the alt spin faster.\ Just curious because i see a 200a alt i like for 179$ and it does 95a at idle. thats more than i have now cuz i ony have a 95a alt, lol P.s. My transmission went out, secong one in there, plus a new engine. But the alt on a town car and navigator are the same so no worries

The one I was looking at (9856) doesnt have a remote and well, thats pretty much it. Also, the display kind of sucked. I have been saying ill get new speakers, amp sub, kick panels, etc when I actually own the car. But im only doing the HU once. And it has to be done right. http://cartoys.com/default.cfm/t/Car_Audio...reo/o/InDash_CD Thats the list I have to choose from. What is a good one? I was thinking Alpines, but I dont know, it looks like there are some other good ones. I will NOT be amping any speakers yet. So for the first few months ill be using the power straight frm the HU. That means it has to have good power. Has to have a remote, and have 'loudness' for a su…

That's a really really good price for the power it puts out. Is there something wrong with MB quart? Why isn't anyone really showing interest? I just want to know b/c I'm about to pm him about picking it up but need to know what I'm about to purchase. I just want to put 150 to the kodas and maybe 100 to the ID's. Tell me what you think
