and I purchased an Eclipse XA2000 for my midbass/midrange. I'll post up pix and stuff when i get it. Has anyone played around with one of these 2-/multi-channel class Db amps yet? Oh and my batteries cell blew so I went ahead and purchased a optima yellow top while i was at it.

Well, i dont have a problem but my dad and brother do. They are trying to hook up a new HU and it wont power up i guess. He said that after it not working when wired through the wiring harness, he hooked it up to a battery to see. Still wont power on, but he only hooked up like 3 wires... 12volt accessory, 12volt battery, and illumination. He only had those 3 wires hooked up so he could just test the radio. Do you need to connect all of them to get the radio to go on??

I might be in the market for one in a few months and was wondering whats the consensous around here to get a great H.O.

i was looking around at profile's site and looking thru their refurbished amps. are these amps worth buying? not looking at buying one right now, but i had thought about getting a few two chaneel amps, bridging both, and hooking them up to my sub. thought about getting a third and powering my front speakers. that would be like $100 ish for 3 amps....can't beat that. Are there any other manufacturer's website's that sell refurbs?? anyone had any experience with them?

Well, my friend has recently been having issues with his electrical system. He currently has a red top and yellow top in the back. He reads around 14 volts up front but his battery in the rear (not isolated) reads at 12.5 volts?! The battery in the front and rear both read at 12.5 with car off. Any clue what could be causing this issue?

Does anyone have exp with PPI's PCX-4125? There is a pretty good deal on ebay right now for one and it would fit my needs pretty well for powering both my kodas and ID's cx62's. Any comments, thoughts about the amp? Just wondering if I should snag one or look elsewhere. thx

Ive been looking at some car audio companies that make very good quality gear. Ive noticed that the majority of them have caps for sale. Now, you think from reading all this stuff about them, they are bad ect ect that these high end companies wouldnt sell them. But there must be a reason. Just about every amp out there is filled with them. So why not add another ? Is a 1 farad cap better than 2 0.5 farad caps ? What about cap banks, 30, 40 farads ? Im, not about to go out and buy one I didnt bother posting this on ca.com because i know everyone will say caps are junk blah blah blah. Ive read that they can be helpful if your electrical system is up to par ( mine is )

Although I'm not worried about buying an amp with enough power (bc I buy quality gear) I'm still unsure how efficient an amp really is. My really old PPI PC 2150 A/B class says in the manual something like 70% efficient which is better than many class d amps now (I read something about the JL 500/1 being about 50% effiencent.) Anyone really know how efficient their amp is or how I can find out without buying one? PS I have a 06 Toyota Highbrid and I'm thinking that the normal 12v system is going to get taxed pretty hard with a moderate system in there. ok well i dont know if this is exactly where im supposed to put this topic, so correct me if i'm wrong. I'm looking to start making some stuff for my dorm room next year, and i was wondering, what some good brands of amplifiers that are out today in the home audio spectrum. i mean power amplifiers, for subs and such, and also some other good 4-8 channel amplifiers for speakers. Has anyone else had the whining noise from the RCAs with the 880? I was switching around some wiring today, accidently touched a speaker wire to the ground wire on the amp and all of a sudden I hear a whining when I turn the vehicle back on. When I grounded a single RCA on the front pre-out the sound nearly went away, still there just barely audible So a couple quick questions about this.... When grounding the RCA would I have to do it to every pre-out being used? (white and red of all 3 pre-outs if all were being used?) Is there a nicer looking way of doing this? Should the deck just be sent to pioneer to be fixed instead?

ok i just got a new 9855 with 4 volt preouts and a used merlin m41 from flakko, and i go the 9855 to work, but when i hook up the amplifier, nothing, not even the power or protect light came on, but then today outta nowhere when i turn on the car, i hear this semi loud click noise, and the amp turned on and i could listen to music, but wasn't very loud, even at 20 volume. it then proceeded to shut off again, and now has no music coming from the speakers, and the amp's lights (power/protect) are off as well. i had this same problem with the last amp i had, before. and im sure when i put that one in it will have the same problem. anyone have any ideas? and i have speaker…
