I'm looking at getting this head unit. Anyone with experience with it? I have owned a eXcelon X889. Loved it. Wish I never sold it. Would this be a nice choice or is there better for around the price of this one?

I'm trying to help find my friend a us amps xt-2000. I'm looking specifically for the older models which had 90 amps of fusing and did rated power. They used to be for sale on ebay for around $120 but now the only site i can find it for sale on is woofersetc and it's like over 300 bucks. So if you guys could find any legit sites with this amp for sale please let me know. Thanks

Currently on my HU there are a lot of options for bass and sub settings. I currently have the bass setting to zero and the sub settings at -20 (lowest it can go) and on my amp I have set my gain using a DMM and reading the "how to set your amp gain" post. Now I was just curious if by having the subwoofer to -20, and having my eq for anything below 50hz set to zero or lower (on my hu) is hurting the performance at all. Currently, the gain on the woofer is about 70% of the way up and its not clipping. Do I set the sub (lets just say) at 0 and same with the built in eq for anything below 50hz? Will this improve anything? And yes I would re set the gain on my amp. EDIT: I for…

I just picked up a memphis digital display voltage meter and I'm not too sure how I should hook this up.. I'm thinking the positive 12v wire should be ran from the battery to the gauge and the negative to a ground somewhere? And can I just use speaker wire? I'll post a pic while I'm waiting for a response from you guys. Those posts on the bottom are positive and negative, they are also removable.. I was hoping to take those posts off so i could fit the meter in a little nook in my dashboard.

Well I sold my pretty red car in my avatar. :L I bought a nice Jeep Cherokee though and I plan on getting a BTL in the near future. For the sake of my electrical, would there be less voltage drop if I ran a SAZ 3,000 at 2 ohms compared to a SAZ 1,500 at 1 ohm? I don't mind the extra $175 or so if it won't take as much of a toll on my electrical. I have a stock alternator and will only be getting 1 XS or Kinetic battery (as big of one that I can fit) that will go under the hood. Thanks in advance.

So the other day i was driving down the street and the stereo was playing just fine. I was on my way to get another door handle to replace the one that broke. Everything was installed and i plugged my driver side door panel in and the speaker connected to it when the subwoofer stage started turning on and off. SO i immediately turned everything off, I went back with a test light and everything was working fine so i plugged everything back together and it worked fine. So today on my way to work the sub stage cuts off completely. So I immediately turn everything off again. Go to work, and come back home. I did the test light thing again and every time i check the amp tur…

I have a cheap 2 channel Lightning Audio amp that was given to me. I first hooked it up on my bench to see if it worked. It did, however, it sounded like it was only playing sound that was panned hard left/right and nothing below about 500hz. I took it apart, and the ground that was soldered to the board from the RCA's was broken. If you pushed the RCA's so that the connection was made, it played fine, but one channel was about half as loud as the other. So I took a set of RCA inputs from another amp that didn't work and replaced the ones on the LA amp. The exact same situation.. One channel is twice as loud as the other. I've tried 3 different sets of RCA cables and 3 di…

Hi all, need some help, planning on installing my 200amp alt today. I see the factory wiring in my 98 GMC jimmy has an 8 guage going from (i think) alternator all the way to the fuse box then back to the battery? correct? now i have a piece of 4 gauge from a previous install around 16" long. the big question is can i just run directly from the alt to the battery? and if so what do i do with the factory stuff going to the fuse box? just leave it? or will that blow the fuse in the fuse box and cause problems? or should i disconnect it and just let it dangle? my battery is a 3 year old (weak) ac delco 680 c.a or c.c.a cant remember, and i did ground the battery to the frame …

I seen manufactured published specs on an amp and was curious on something to see if this is common among all amps or just this particular one. They listed the current draw for voltage tested and output power so calculating efficiency was easy. Here is what it shows at a 1 ohm load- 14.4v- 78% 16v- 77% 18v- 71% Is this normal performance among 18v amps?

So after hooking things up i found that i was short of speaker cable by five feet. I ran down to Mickey Shorr to see what they had. They gave me about 12 feet of 8 gauge power wire for five bucks. so it's a pretty simple question actually, Is there any difference in speaker cable and power wire? can i use power wire as speaker wire? thanks.

Hi i have a Trailblazer SS with Bose and Nave. I used to use the Pac Aoem gm-24 but i did not really like the output with it. I am interested in going with a different one. I know people probably are going to say just get a new HU but i would prefer to keep the stock one. I have been looking at MTX re-q 3 or 5 but i am open to anything you think would work the best. thanks

The math is 1200X2(rmsXimdependance) then take the square root of that so i should get 48.98 so when i go to set my gains and i use the volt metter i should set it until i get to 48.98. im pretty sure thats how you do it but just wanna double check dont wanna blow my sub im goin to post pics soon the box for it is amazing custom paint by friend
