I have been looking at the clarion eqs746 dash mount crossover. Not sure if I like the idea that my head unit has 3 rca outputs and the EQS746 only has one input. I am interested in installing a crossover but was thinking of looking at a trunk mounted model. thoughts??? Opinions???? model suggestions for the trunk mount models??? have been looking at Audio control and I have a MTX RT-X02i used in the 90's looking to improve my current sound output. I feel like I am missing something just haven't figured that out yet.

I was thinking about getting the audiopipe 3k, but a little confused on wiring my two D4 subs on the amp. Before you comment don't tell me to not get it because its a POS (I'm not asking wether I should get it or not). I am on a budget.. The amp does around 3k @ 2ohms. If you aren't familiar with the amp it has 2 channels, its basically two 1500s strapped. Can I wire my 2 D4 subs on this amp to get a 2ohm final load on the amp to receive 3k? This amp has got me so confused haha, thanks for the help.

If I'm trying to do a 2 way front stage. With a 3 way crossover that has the hpf 's I need for the Mids and tweeters how would I cut them off where they need to be if I have no controls on the amp for them? Subs are from 25-60. So was going to cross the Mids around 60. And tweeters around 4-5 k ......

I've been watching a few videos of people using the Steve Meade/D'Amore Engineering DD-1 Distortion Detector for setting their gains and also in identifying if and where the head-unit output begins to distort (max safe listening volume). Anyone use this before or know anyone that has? Whats the verdict on this thing? Just asking out of curiosity, i've always set mine by ear anyway but it does look interesting. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_61378_SMD-DD-1-Distortion-Detector-Analyzer-by-Steve-Meade-Designs.html

I have a crunch powerzone 1500.1 and have a strange issues between it and my head unit. I raise the gain, and there is little to no difference throughout the range until it's about 3/4 up. However, if I raise the line level input (I play music from my phone) it increases dramatically, however my highs distort, no matter how I adjust their amp. I haven't even bothered with the bb because I've heard nothing good about it; but I don't feel right maxing my gain to get decent output. It's the same level of sound as my 150w amp without the line level adjustment and I figure 6-700w increase should sound a little louder? only asking this now, because I plan on getting a new amp …

Hey everyone, I've got this irritating alternator whine ever since upgrading my front stage, hopefully someone can give me some insight. Here's my setup: 02 Lexus IS300 Alpine CDA-9856 MRX-M110 RE SE 12 *SPR-17s *PDX 4.150 *KX3 crossover The items marked with asterisks are new components to this install (owned them since ~07, sat in the closet for a while) and are where the noise is coming from somehow. I've searched extensively for resources to find anything I could do to fix this issue but to no avail. The most comprehensive guide I've found is at http://www.termpro.com/asp/pubs.asp?ID=121 but I've tried everything (new to me) that they suggest, bu…

It seems as though a nightmare has occured because yesterday my voltage was very low and my battery light kept flickering on and off. I went to O'Riellys and they told me my battery was bad. I have owned the Kinetik HC1800 for only about 6 months now and I have a custom 240 amp alternator (12v). I need advice please! If in fact the battery is bad what to I change to? Here are the specs: 2001 Ford Windstar LX Pioneer Head Unit 0 gauge & big three 2 alpine type rs hifonics brz1200d @1ohm Kinetik HC1800 (claimed to be bad after 6 months?) The gentleman at O'Reillys told me to switch to an Optima? As a car audio guy I though Optimas weren't the way to go? I was thinki…

My deck is rated at 4 volt preamp but when I measured it I get 4.1 volts at maximum volume on my subwoofer RCA and 0.7 volt on my front and rear. The deck manual States 4 volt at 10 percent Distortion so my question is should I pick up a 3-way line driver, cap the deck volume at three quarters, and use the line driver to boost the one volt and 3 volt signal up to 6 volt?

I've been running my 2 Dcons off of 300 watts (total) for a few months now, and I guess my ears are now getting used to the volume. Soooooo......time for more power! I've run across a Zapco Reference 750 that a guy has for $100. Looks to me like a great fit wattage-wise, as it will push 375 per channel or 750 bridged. I just want to know how these amps measure up, as I've never heard of them. Google searches seem to bring up positive reviews, but I'd like to hear from you guys who may have had experience with them. Thanks in advance!

Hello all, Would you mind giving wiring advice for my Pontiac G6? Here is what I currently have: 1 yellow top in engine bay, no rear battery yet. Big 3 done with knuconcept 1/0 1 run of power wire to trunk I am grounding off frame in trunk, but when I tested the impedance I got a low # (don't remember exact #) Standard alt I will be running 2 Xcons 12s D1, with most likely a BC3500. I have a BC2000 for now. These will be trunk mounted with fold down seats. I will be buying a amp for the component speakers, not sure what yet? This is a daily driver, so I want it to get as loud as possible while still sounding tight over a wide array of music. I mainly listen t…

  19. Here's the thing, i was considering getting 2 - 12" older model p3s, 2ohm subwoofers, Power Handling (Watts RMS): 400 Watts RMS 800 Watts Max With this amp http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p1000x2 Rated Power (RMS Continuous Power): 300 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm 500 Watts x 2 @ 2-Ohm wired with the 2ohm version If i can't find the older ones in 2ohm, i've come across the 4ohms, but wiring them would only deliver 300 watts, is this enough or do i have to get the 10"(which only require 300)? going in the trunk of a car, have 39" width and want to do less than 8" deep, ~16-18 high(considering leaving a spot on th…

While moving I had to remove my subs and amp from my car. When hooking them back up in haste I hooked up my power cable to the ground and my ground cable to power. Sparks flew and wires were disconnected soon after. The inline 80 amp fuse burned out. Fuses on the amp were fine. After replacing the inline fuse and connecting the amp correctly the amp will not turn on. I checked the fuse in my Alpine 9887 and it was still fine, I replaced it just to make sure. I opened up the amp and everything looks perfect except a few brown solder points located on the steel plate near the ground/power connections. Are these brown spots just left over flux or do these points need to be…

  21. How much battery would you guys recommend for park n play? I'll have about 2k to the lows, and would like to be able to go to a car show in my hometown and show all the highschoolers how it's done. I'm drooling over this, i've been waiting to do a build of my own for so long, and daydreaming conveniently leaves out all the requirements that need to be satisfied before the fun part. I'd like to be able to play the subs with the car off, not for ridiculously long, an hour would be the longest I could see happening; I was thinking instead of two marines from walmart, i'd do a D3100 or a D7500. I'm pretty sure the 7500 is bigger than i'll -ever- need but I mean, it's kind…
