So the other day i was driving down the street and the stereo was playing just fine. I was on my way to get another door handle to replace the one that broke. Everything was installed and i plugged my driver side door panel in and the speaker connected to it when the subwoofer stage started turning on and off. SO i immediately turned everything off, I went back with a test light and everything was working fine so i plugged everything back together and it worked fine. Hey guys! got a quick question. Just picked up an iPod and hooked it up to my alpine deck. my question is....is it possible to get the iPod to turn completely off when i shut off my car? Or does it turn off ocmpletely on its own? or just go into sleep? im sorta confused. I know the screen blacks out. but i'm not sure if its off or if its in sleep. I haven't turned it off long enough to tell if tis in "deep sleep" and watnot, but im hoping to just be able to leave this thing in my glvoebox and control it all through the head unit let me know if you have any ideas!!

So I have had my 12" Icon all but a month now and I feel like its time to get it an amplifier that will make it happy. Right now it is being powered from a JL Audio 500/1 and it seems to take it with pleasure. So far it has made a great addition to my Toyota Camry. What I will be doing is upgrading the power for the Icon and re-doing the front stage hopefully in the spring. Basically in the end of my other thread I mentioned a particular amplifier I am interested in and was hoping to maybe get some suggestions along the same lines as that one. having a saz-3500d or a saz-4500d , how many speakers could u hook up to them?

I am going to run 2 Fully Loaded Btl 18" s dual 1ohm coils and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for an amp or amps to run. electrical is upgraded and I was wanting to atleast give them a true 4k RMS. Also I am wanting to stay under $800. Thanks, Brock

i know old school sound streams are good amps. i have a mint sa-164 already and it suprises me how much power it puts out. and the rubicon 1002 is supposed to put out 1000w rms. thats just what i need so is $150 for this amp an ok deal that will guarantee me 1000w rms?

I just got a daihatsu rocky, and the wife is going to take over my accord, so Im ripping out my stereo equipment. 2 problems though, no room in there for 3 subs and tools, and also, not enough alternator for 1150 watts. I am going to sell my hifonics amp, and put her fosgate amp and RE sub in my accord for her. I am going to get a cheap used 2ch for the comps and take my infinity amp back as well. I was thinking about running this in the rocky and either running the front channels to the coax's, and bridge the rears to one of my 10's. If one's amp would be clipping, resulting in a blown sub, is it a permanent issue? Or does the gain, bass eq, and other filters need to be tuned to insure that it won't happen with the new sub?

I have plans to run an AudioQue AQ2200D in a 2001.5 Passat (call it a 2002). I'd like to know what I need as far as electrical upgrades. I'd also like to know what a batcap would/wouldn't do for someone that likes to have a constant beat going. Lastly, if I need a second battery, how would I wire it up to the rest of the charging system? Thank you. EDIT: I believe the stock alt is about 90 amps.

just installed a brand new chevy alt on my mecury van , its chargeing but not fully i ran over my DMM so i cant test it till tomorrow.. theres 2 wires on the alt one is grey the other is white.. 3rd wire is the big red battery wire.. the gray im told is to battery power and white is a exciter wire but am told you dont have to use this white wire because at 1200 rpm itll turn on.. so a quick test and it was chargeing but i was using a test light for the time being and it was lit but not as bright as the vans own alt when i hooked it to van alt it was bright.. not as bright with second chevy alt .. any one have a clue why its not fully chargeing or am i missing something..…

im running a power acoustik 3000 watt mono amp. i'm using 4awg pwr cable and ground. stock alt. i just pulled out my 2 12" power acoustik mofos that i was running and put in a fully loaded 18" fi btl. well anyways when i first hooked everything up it was working fine for 5 mins. then i started blowing fuses in the power cable. i checked everything for shorts, and if anything was grounding out. everything seems fine. even if i dont connect the sub to the amp the fuse still blows. whats causing this? is it because i need thicker power and ground cable?

Hello. I need help selecting an amp for a Cerwin Vega 12" Stoker. My budget is $500. I had my eyes set on a Hifonics XXV- Colossus. Supposedly it's rated 1x3200@ 2-Ohms, which sounds like more than enough to power a stroker efficiently, but after some reading in this forum, the brand now sounds like borderline garbage. I also hear that this speaker requires a very large custom box, or is that also a myth? I have a 99 Crown Vic, so space is no object. Is there anyone here that builds them, or online? If not can anyone help me with specs to take to a local audio shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Anyone ever tried this amp? It looks old to me but I kinda like it. Hour meter for use, voltage remote meter and remote bass knob (well thats not that cool because most amps have them but the voltage meter is pretty cool), pretty good power and stuff. Hey all.Im curious about hooking up two planet audio bb2 2400 watt rms amps.Here is my question.When haveing to of these amps hooked together it says its 2 ohm stable.My subs are dual 4 ohm and I have 2 wired to 1ohm.If I bought another BB2 how would it work?Like would each amp rung at 1/2 ohm or what since the subs are dual 4 ohm?If so,would I be better off to run 1 amp to each sub and run each at 2 ohms?Would this make me louder at all doing each at amp at 2ohms or would I be about the same? My electrical consists of a 220 amp alt,All 1/0 wireing including big 3 in 1/0 and I have a extra batt in the back. Thanks and let me know please.
