i bought http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLE12BL knu 12 gauge and my question is do I split the wire into two or do I wrap them together. Or is one tube for positive and the other negative? so like instead of two wires running to my amp I will have one then at the amp I will split it into two by separating the 2 chambers?

I have tried two different decks at 3/4 volume with bass flat and with the gain turned all the way down Im getting 40 volts using 50hz signal at 0db. the sub 12w6 sounds loud with the test cd but barely audible with music. Is there anything obvious to look for? thanks Todd

I have been frustrated trying to track down the background noise on my headunit. Here is what I have: Headunit - Pioneer 9400bh Amp 1 - Kenwood 150.2 Amp 2 - Kicker 500.1 #1 The pioneer when playing a 0 bit track has pink noise from usb and cd. Kenwood amp is powering my front stage and the pioneer is for the back. Fader front and rear both produce the noise with and without both rcas. #2 So I reattached the original headunit and there is no noise with the 0 bit track cd. It is hooked up to just the rear speakers. I have changed the grounds on both amps, changed the ground on the headunit, done the pico fuse fix (wire wrap). I am at my wits end, please tell me if buying…

Alright i'm running 4 Dual 4 ohm speakers aiming for 2 ohms. Theory #1: Wire two subs in parallel separate (yeilds 2ohms a sub). Then wire these together in parallel yeilding 1 ohm total for 2 speakers. Then, wire the other two subs the exact same way yeilding two sets of speakers ran down to 1 ohm per set. Now im running one amp. Then run these two sets together in series on the amp yeilding 2 ohms. Only question, wouldn't this i swap the polarity in one set of the speakers??????? Theory #2: Run each sub in series (yeildin 8 ohms a sub). Then run all of the subs in parallel at the amp. Yeilding 2 ohms. I think this is the correct way!! Im going to finish my box tom …

Hi all, need some help, planning on installing my 200amp alt today. I see the factory wiring in my 98 GMC jimmy has an 8 guage going from (i think) alternator all the way to the fuse box then back to the battery? correct? now i have a piece of 4 gauge from a previous install around 16" long. the big question is can i just run directly from the alt to the battery? and if so what do i do with the factory stuff going to the fuse box? just leave it? or will that blow the fuse in the fuse box and cause problems? or should i disconnect it and just let it dangle? my battery is a 3 year old (weak) ac delco 680 c.a or c.c.a cant remember, and i did ground the battery to the frame …

I have a chance to buy a Diamond D7 D7054 for a pretty good deal, BNIB. My question is, should i buy it and put my bass on hold. I can get the d7054 now and get my new subwoofer amplifier later, and get my Fi Q about a month later. The good news is i could sell off my eclipse ea4000 to try and re-coup what i lost in buying the legendary d7 amp. Some of the things i have going on right now. Looking to get a h/o alt and a kinetik hc1400/1800 Upgrading to 1/0 power and grounds, and doing the big 3. Maybe eventually getting a new front sound stage.

I did not know where to put this but since it concerns using head units, I thought this would be the best fit section. So first of all some background info.... I have a 1999 Volvo S70 (dont hate) and currently I have a alpine cda-9886 headunit. My car is a double-din so i have the headunit in the bottom slot and a pocket in the top slot. I also have 15% tint all the way around, which I know isn't the darkest but its pretty dark at night, especially backing up....however, i was thinking about redoing the tint and getting 5% all around and 50% on the windshield so I know that this will be even harder to see at night. before i was deciding whether or not to go darker but my …

could you use 6 volt batteries in car audio? I know if you wire two in series it would make 12 volts, but then how can you get it to co exist with your 12 volt startying battery? 6 volt batteries have alot better reserve capacity

So I have had my 12" Icon all but a month now and I feel like its time to get it an amplifier that will make it happy. Right now it is being powered from a JL Audio 500/1 and it seems to take it with pleasure. So far it has made a great addition to my Toyota Camry. What I will be doing is upgrading the power for the Icon and re-doing the front stage hopefully in the spring. Basically in the end of my other thread I mentioned a particular amplifier I am interested in and was hoping to maybe get some suggestions along the same lines as that one. The particular amplifier in question is a Boston Acoustics GT-2300. Seems to fit my needs and then some. What I am looking for in…

  22. I have had a dva-9861 setup for several years, I have the Digital sound processor, XM radio and HD radio units connected to it and for the first time I tried hooking up an ipod. I tried a 5th Gen Nano and a 7th gen Classic and in both cases it recognizes the ipod, displays the name of the song on the screen and the "Timer" runs to show how long into the song it is but there is No sound at all. is there any internal setting I have to change to make it work? thanks, Sparty
