I know absolutely nothing about amps i want an amp just for this sub: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TSW251R-Watt-10-Inch-Subwoofer/dp/B000E6Q1LC does the amp have to be a minimum of 600w? does it have to be pioneer brand bc the sub is pioneer? or does the brand make no difference? thanks!

I've had this head unit for nearly three years now and it still works great. I am now looking into putting together a 2-way active setup in a regular cab ford ranger and was wondering if this will be able to run active. I'm new to active setups and I am not sure what to look for in a headunit and would like to keep my 9830 if possible because I am low on cash. I have 2 BTL 12's fully loaded on a 4ooohd Ma audio amp, im currently running 2 dry cell batteries... yellow top optima and blue top optima..... Is there any way to get more power out of this system?? I have a friend who works at auto advance and he said i could get to blue top's and get a tray so i could hook both of them up to run 24 volts.....

So I'm gonna do the wiring for my 4channel before I actually get it and the way my h/u kit is designed my h/u has to be bolted in...u can't just pull it out from the front. So can I plug in the rca's in the back of the h/u and not have them plugged into anything at the other end or does there have to be a connection? Or should I just do all the wiring and just not plug it in the h/u until there's a 4 channel I can plug it into

Gents, Just curious if I can run my Xcon D2s at 0.5 ohms and be good, or should I just run them at 2 ohms? Electrical consists of 3 XS Power D3400s ( 1 as a front batt, 2 in the rear). I ran all zero for the Big 3, and currently have a HO alt of 250a from Excessive Amperage in the works. Just wondering how I should wire the subs on these amps. Any input is appreciated. Also this is a daily driver, if that means much. Thanks.

just installed a brand new chevy alt on my mecury van , its chargeing but not fully i ran over my DMM so i cant test it till tomorrow.. theres 2 wires on the alt one is grey the other is white.. 3rd wire is the big red battery wire.. the gray im told is to battery power and white is a exciter wire but am told you dont have to use this white wire because at 1200 rpm itll turn on.. so a quick test and it was chargeing but i was using a test light for the time being and it was lit but not as bright as the vans own alt when i hooked it to van alt it was bright.. not as bright with second chevy alt .. any one have a clue why its not fully chargeing or am i missing something..…

I'm about to install my system, looking around at the stuff I have sitting around, and I started to wonder if there may be a better way to do this. Here's my plan: PG RSd 65 components in Front 2x Sundown SD-1 (the old 8 ohm ones - which creates part of my dilemma) sealed in 1.5^3ft. Sundown SAX-100.4 So, the original plan was simple, run the components off the front channels using the passive XO included with them. Run the subs parallel off the rear channels of the amp. Lots of flexibility with the subsonic filters, bass boost, active XO in the sundown, as well as some basic stuff on my HU. Simple right? I am in need of the wiring diagram for the inputs of the JBL amps for a 2012 Toyota FJ. I know the voltage should be well below 6volts and want to convert them to a rca plug to install and after market system while still using all the factory headunti features. This is for a friend and I do not have the FJ handy to look at things. I am preplanning and any help would be awesome!

I see a lot of stuff being sold used on forums and ebay. Is there any general rule to follow on how much they should be worth compared to new? Anything to watch out for as far as life span?( Would you buy one 10 years old) Which go the distance?

I just got a daihatsu rocky, and the wife is going to take over my accord, so Im ripping out my stereo equipment. 2 problems though, no room in there for 3 subs and tools, and also, not enough alternator for 1150 watts. I am going to sell my hifonics amp, and put her fosgate amp and RE sub in my accord for her. I am going to get a cheap used 2ch for the comps and take my infinity amp back as well. I was thinking about running this in the rocky and either running the front channels to the coax's, and bridge the rears to one of my 10's. Hey guys I was thinking about going active with my mids and highs and before I buy an active x-over is it possible for me to band pass my mids with my HU front x-over (hp 80Hz up) and my amp x-over ( Lp 3KHz) can I do this or am I missing somethig. what are some of the best amps i can push 2 15" juggernauts with alot of wattage for a good price?

is there a control knob out that alows 2 amps to run off 1 knob? are they better than the factory knobs?

I just picked up a memphis digital display voltage meter and I'm not too sure how I should hook this up.. I'm thinking the positive 12v wire should be ran from the battery to the gauge and the negative to a ground somewhere? And can I just use speaker wire? I'll post a pic while I'm waiting for a response from you guys. Those posts on the bottom are positive and negative, they are also removable.. I was hoping to take those posts off so i could fit the meter in a little nook in my dashboard.

So after hooking things up i found that i was short of speaker cable by five feet. I ran down to Mickey Shorr to see what they had. They gave me about 12 feet of 8 gauge power wire for five bucks. so it's a pretty simple question actually, Is there any difference in speaker cable and power wire? can i use power wire as speaker wire? thanks.
