I was fooling around with my amp today, turning up the gain gradually, and I was getting excited, sub was pounding a lot harder, and it didnt sound like it was getting any muddier or sound like it was clipping. But then i noticed that once i disconnected the sub and played a tone, the amplifier itself was making a buzzing noise. So i turned back the gain and it went away. I was wondering if this was some kind of built in clipping detector or something along those lines? Have you guys ever encountered something like this? Any info would be great, thanks guys.

Is the american bass vfl 1000.1 stable at 1ohm?

Hey guys. I just purchased a American Bass VFL 150.1 with the Gold Chasis. What do you guys think about the amp in General? I am going to be powering my FI 15" BL @ 1 ohm with it..What you guys think that setup will do?? I like the way the amp looks and from all I have read about it it is a powerful dude..

i just got a american bass vfl 500.1 not to long ago and i was wondering if anybody has one or knows a little about them.

So, I had the Kenwood performance series 1800 amp. Almost 5 years and it finally went. So, I am in the market for a new amp. I was looking at the ct sounds at1400.1D. Seen Steve Meade bench test it. It seems impressive. But, keep getting told to don't waste my money. That it's not quality. So, I'm back to looking. I have a budget of $400. I'm not looking at skar or soundstream tarantula amps. Would like 1000+rms at 2 ohms. What would be recommended by you guys? I always stuck with what has worked. Which I always had kicker and Rockford fosgate. My amp cuts on with only the remote wire hooked up to it why? and when i hook the power and ground wire up it wont power my speakers.

Alright guys. Here is the deal. I have been looking at amps and i honestly am looking at the new apx3500's. They seem good but i haven't heard much about them. I checked a lot of forums but most of them just talk about how they hope the new apx's are as good as the ap's. Now when i hear that, i ask myself, what exactly is the difference between the two? Right now i have 2 18 inch DC level 4's with level 5 soft parts and i know that 2 3500's is too much to push them with but i am going to upgrade to some SSA zcons. I want to buy and install an amplifier for a new sound system for a car. I'd like the amplifier to not clip, and I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of dynamics for extra loudness when I want it. In the world of music production we regularly obtain these goals with an effect called a brickwall limiter. It's basically a special type of compressor that guarantees that the sound never passes a certain threshold. Do they make car audio amplifiers with brickwall limiters (or at least compressors) inside them?

I've been looking into buying a new sub amp for my car. I am in a slow building process as of now I have done the big 3 with 1/0 ofc from xs power and I ordered more wiring to run to the trunk. I am almost done building my amp rack and now I'm trying to decide on what amp to get. I have it done to 3 that I had in mind that run the same power and are supposedly reliable. The 3 that I had in mind are the IA 10.1 or the Sundown SAZ 1200 or the DC 1.2K. The sub I will be ordering is a FI SSD fully loaded. My sister is looking to add a sub and amp to her 07 charger. She came to me and I showed her a few things. Prices are too high. I'm trying to get her into a single 12" ia lethal injection or fi Q possibly icon. So we're looking at around 1000 watts rms. showed her the sundown 1000.. Too much ($289). What do you guys recommend in the $150 or so range for an amp? Is something of fair quality able to be had new for this price or is used the route I'm going to need to take? Hello, I have two 12" SSA GCON dual 4ohm vc subwoofers in a sealed box I made. (750w rms each) I was previously driving each subwoofer with an Infinity Kappa One amp, 800W @ 2ohm, but my stupid pre-out adapter decided to push 12V to the amps, frying their input circuitry. My buddy gave me an idea on how to mount my amp, but it will touching the batteries...will that harm anything when the amp is on?

I have a few spare 10" Alpine Type S dual 2ohm subs that have been sitting around for a little over a year with no home. I'm planning on using one of them in a friends sealed box (.75) running it at 1ohm using the Zed Minilith. The Alpine is rated at 300rms. The Zed is rated a bit over 600rms at 1ohm. Id this too much for that sub, or should I just wire it to a 4ohm load.
