what are your guys opions on the JBL GTO 75.4...im thinking about picking it up to run my two mj18 that are 8 ohm each....and this looks like it will do ok for the time being to poush these...thanks

i finally installed my system and im looking to get another hu. I currently own a JVC KD-AVX2. I've been looking at other radios and i want a lil more out of my hu. I kinda want a screen, too. I just installed a hifonics Zeus zrx3000.1d. I was wondering if a 4 gauge big 3 upgrade would help with the light dimming and give the amp more consistent power? Any ideas? If so, I saw on knukon

I got my 2500d today in the mail and i want to make sure i get it all tuned up nicely so i don't damage anything. I went completely brain dead about where to put the lpf and ssf so if you guys could help me out on that? My box is tuned at 35 hz. Secondly I have my dmm and I'm thinking I would set the gains somewhere around 1500 watts, so √1500= 38.73 would that be an ok tuning for my sa15s or should I turn it down a bit? I know they are rated at 600 a piece but I've been told by multiple people on here that they can take more if the power is clean. I'm just listening to music on them so I don't need it cranked up but I want it to be able to shake people inside of my car.

I have an autotek mm1400.1d on a DD 9512g wired at one ohm. I set the gain using the pinned tutorial above. I bought the amp used, and my voltage hasn't dropped below 12.5 volts yet.. it usually hovers around 13-13.5 volts. Also, the amp doesn't seem to be getting too hot either. Could the problem be that the amp is damaged? Thanks

can i run my speaker wire and rca cables in the same door jam or do i need to run them seperate. power wire is seperate from rcas but does speaker wire matter or not another questions trying to wire up my apline 6.5 coaxils how do i know which one is the postive and which one is negative or does it matter

Used to have a Hifonics 2000bxi and when I ran that full tilt it would only get luke warm. Now that I've upgraded to my mb quart 2000.1d, running it at even 3/4 tilt makes it get really toasty. To the point where it hurts to leave your hand on it for more than 4 seconds. Voltage never dips below 13.5v full tilt and I have it tuned on my DMM for 2000w (does 2200w i hear?) The amp is directly grounded to my rear batt and all the connections are snug and tight. The amp is also mounted right by my seat openings so it has pretty decent air flow. Anyone elses discus series amp run toasty like mine?

Do not purchase these amps from the ebay seller riversidetrade they are defective. They were never supposed to be released to the public. The heat sink is to small causing them to overheat and fail. Looking for a parametric half din eq that has adjustable q. I've seen a couple that allow you to adjust the q for the subwoofer center freq, but I have yet to find one that will for your other freq's. Is this an option only available in a full size trunk mount type eq?

Alright so im not going to buy the crimpers for one time use... i was at homedepot and picked up plumbers solder... ik everyone says use electrical solder... whats the difference? And will the plumbers solder be good enough?... im using 1 guage to a 1300rms amp.

I'm planning to upgrade my electrical. My battery is in the back of the car (Magnum). Couldn't I just run new wire from the alt to a pair of separate batteries? Rather than wire all three together? I'd be running a pair of 105 AH marine deep cycle batts, dry cells, separate from a regular dry cell car battery. I've never seen it done, although i'm sure it has been. Thanks.

I saw a discussion about this a long while ago on some audio site and can't find it again. I just wanted to know if there are any substancial advantages to running power wire directly from the alt to the back battery bank. For example: I have 4 runs of 1/0 running from front to back, 2+ and 2-. Right now, both + are running back from the + on my front battery. Would it be advantagous to run one run back from the + on the front battery, and the other from the + on the alt to the back battery bank? Advantages, disadvantages, not matter? So I was just about to buy the AudioControl lc2i and I saw that it has "2 speaker-level inputs with 400 watts RMS power handling". I have 2 crescendo bc2000s and going to have 1 crescendo c1100.4. I won't be using them all at full output, but somewhere around 3.2k rms all together. Does that mean it can be hooked up to speakers that are getting up to 400 rms or does it mean that it can only support amps up to 400 rms. I looked at reviews to see if others have used with more power and they were all under 600 rms. I didn't see any other LOCs that support more power. Will the lc2i work? Does this amp work at 4 ohms?... There is no rating i could find for it at 4 ohms and id need it at that if i get it untill igot a new sub. At 2 ohms it puts out 1100 rms so at 4 would it be like 550?

I had one question and maybe a manufacturer can answer this, why is it that eq's have boost circuits instead of just reducing the overpowering frequencies? If your boost the frequency voltage, doesn't that create an undesireable risk of clipping in the system?

Hi everybody. I recently had my starter set up installed (2 sa-12s dvc 1 sax-1200 wired to one ohm). It was not hitting hard and then it just went completely inaudible, although bass was still slightly there. I realize the not hitting hard part was most likely a wiring issue. I took it into a car audio shop, we opened it up and the guy told me that i blew it, still very puzzling. The gain wasn't set beyond half way and I blew it, but have no idea how.
