should i set the amp and hu to match each other? ive heard of bypassing the amp's low pass crossover if thats even possible. any help would be appreciated.

welp guys... I was lookin at the batcap 800 for my friends Integra Couple of reasons im considering this over a group 51 Yellow Top it has WAY MORE CCA Its lighter and it costs the same Also, its black, so it doesnt draw attention like a Yellow Top would Only problem i can see is RC, the stocker is 70m The Yellow top is 75m But Batcap doesnt list any sort of RC on the 800

Has anyone ever done this? I'm going to be making custom door panels and would like to incorporate the HU into the drivers side door. I am looking for a unit that will be compatible with this mounting scheme.

I drew out a little wiring diagram(yes i know it's crappy cause it's offa ms paint) for connecting RCA jacks off the HU for my planned system. In the front, the RE XXX woofer will be run off of a 2 channel amp and the tweets will be run off of two channels of the 4 channel amp. The rear midbass(Adire Koda 6.5) will be run off of the rear channel of the 4 channel amp. Crossover duty will be done by the HU(plan to get an Eclipse) and the 4 channel amp. Does that look right? or do i need something extra?

Apparently I'm addicted to power. I currently have a ton of equipment sitting in the basement, and no vehicle to put it all in. Seem I keep buying amplifiers. I own a work van that I drive daily, a 1966 Buick that looks pretty in the driveway, and I have no intention of putting a system in that. I just have way too much hardware so my plans keep changing. I'm after a total SQ install, and "over the top volume"(across all frequency ranges not just bass) is something that is VERY important to me. EXTREME mid-bass and VERY clear loud highs are a must. I need an amp that puts out 40-80x2 for my mb quart components. My budget is around 100. I've seen some cheap clarion amps on ebay. Do you guys have any suggestions? What do you think about this memphis amp? Would be nice if i can extract 70x2 out of it. But it is refurbed... Any suggestions would help guys. I was just wondering what's the biggest wires you guys can use for the sub to the amp and the wires for wiring the dvc terminals together (if you have dvc) the biggest i've seen were 8g, is that the biggest it can go?, personally i never tried this so i wouldn't know and im planning to upgrade my wires sooooooooooon

OK OK so the new jbl amps put out 2200 watts at 1, 2, 3, 4, etc ohms right.. sooo, if i hook up 4 subs that see 1 ohm, they all get 2200 watts? or am i incorect, i mean it makes since right.

My friend is planning to buy 1 RE 12" from the RE gruop buy, and i was wondering what amp will i need to power one of these? how much watts do i need for these subs?

Have factory 6x9 rear and thinking to go back with a Treo 8 sub instead of going with the 6.5. The amp that I was going to use to run the 2 set of 6.5 was a Solid Audio F20 @ 300 watts how much more power I need to run the TS 8 which is 150 watts?

just making a general positive statement I recently loaned out my Z800 Ultradrive to a buddy because he melted his Kenwood (ups has it) (they say 225 x 2 @4 and 450 x 1 @ 4, but a shop speced it at 513 or something in that range) and it is a class A/B amp and is not reccomended, like many others, to go below 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono, so what do we do? we wire it up at 1.5ohms mono for giggles, and WHAT THE CRAP :musik05: it played fine, and it still is now a few days later, the top mounted fan it whirling like a foo and the heat sink is getting warm but the amp is holding

Ok here's my problem. Whenever I turn up my Head unit (New Sony Xplode) past a certain point my amp will shut off. As long as I have my amp turned pretty far down it wont do it. But I feel like I'm being robbed of the potential of my speakers. I thought that maybe it was the amp so I took my other amp out of my other car and it did the same thing but even quicker cuz it's a 900w Lanzar and the other one is a American Pro 600w. I've checked all of the connections way to many times and never found any problems. Someone told me that the ohms has to match up on the amp and on the subs but i've never heard of that. Hey I'm gonna try and not make this a versus thread. I'm selling my profile cl1200 (shut up) and am looking for an upgrade. It's going to power 2 10" L5's (ported) so I'm basically looking for a solid 800~1kW dclass @ 1 or 4 ohm. My price range is anywhere from 200-300. i just thought about it, is 500watts woth 50bux? the bx is only 235$ and the PA is 299$ diffrence is about 500watts giv or take. which one? or just found it the Viper D2500.1 for 355$
