Hi everybody. I recently had my starter set up installed (2 sa-12s dvc 1 sax-1200 wired to one ohm). It was not hitting hard and then it just went completely inaudible, although bass was still slightly there. I realize the not hitting hard part was most likely a wiring issue. I took it into a car audio shop, we opened it up and the guy told me that i blew it, still very puzzling. The gain wasn't set beyond half way and I blew it, but have no idea how. Anyways, I put a picture below (downloaded from the net) and circled the place where the seal broke, and the guy who installed my stereo said it was faulty. My buddy gave me an idea on how to mount my amp, but it will touching the batteries...will that harm anything when the amp is on?

Here is my problem. I know the out put values on the amp @ 2ohm(115wrms) and 4ohm(75wrms),what I don't know is the output @ 3ohm which is waht my comps are. Should I assume a midpoint? And effectivly gain down to say 85w(100wrms 3ways and 90wrms 2ways)meaning figure voltage for 85w @ 3ohms and set accordingly. Or do I just need to get an o-scope and do it on a bench?

So I was just about to buy the AudioControl lc2i and I saw that it has "2 speaker-level inputs with 400 watts RMS power handling". I have 2 crescendo bc2000s and going to have 1 crescendo c1100.4. I won't be using them all at full output, but somewhere around 3.2k rms all together. Does that mean it can be hooked up to speakers that are getting up to 400 rms or does it mean that it can only support amps up to 400 rms. I looked at reviews to see if others have used with more power and they were all under 600 rms. I didn't see any other LOCs that support more power. Will the lc2i work? I saw a discussion about this a long while ago on some audio site and can't find it again. I just wanted to know if there are any substancial advantages to running power wire directly from the alt to the back battery bank. For example: I have 4 runs of 1/0 running from front to back, 2+ and 2-. Right now, both + are running back from the + on my front battery. Would it be advantagous to run one run back from the + on the front battery, and the other from the + on the alt to the back battery bank? Advantages, disadvantages, not matter? Do not purchase these amps from the ebay seller riversidetrade they are defective. They were never supposed to be released to the public. The heat sink is to small causing them to overheat and fail. I have a JL 500/1 amp going to 2 memphis 10s. When we first installed every thing sounded great and plently of power. After a few days the amp went down on power and under cold start up it makes a buzzing or hissing noise from the amp. When the subs hit it goes away for a second , but it comes right back. at first it was making the noise for a few minites ,but know it is like 5 minintes after the start up. Does any body know what the noise is or why it doesn't have the power it used to??

Looking for a parametric half din eq that has adjustable q. I've seen a couple that allow you to adjust the q for the subwoofer center freq, but I have yet to find one that will for your other freq's. Is this an option only available in a full size trunk mount type eq?

I got my 2500d today in the mail and i want to make sure i get it all tuned up nicely so i don't damage anything. I went completely brain dead about where to put the lpf and ssf so if you guys could help me out on that? My box is tuned at 35 hz. Secondly I have my dmm and I'm thinking I would set the gains somewhere around 1500 watts, so √1500= 38.73 would that be an ok tuning for my sa15s or should I turn it down a bit? I know they are rated at 600 a piece but I've been told by multiple people on here that they can take more if the power is clean. I'm just listening to music on them so I don't need it cranked up but I want it to be able to shake people inside of my car.

I'm planning to upgrade my electrical. My battery is in the back of the car (Magnum). Couldn't I just run new wire from the alt to a pair of separate batteries? Rather than wire all three together? I'd be running a pair of 105 AH marine deep cycle batts, dry cells, separate from a regular dry cell car battery. I've never seen it done, although i'm sure it has been. Thanks.

If I run 0 guage fron front batt to rear batt, then connect two amps to rear batt whats the best way....1} run single power wire to distro block fron rear batt 2} run an individual wire from each amp to the batt? Second part whats the best for grounding rear batt? run a ground back to front batt or ground to chassis or both? Also same question on grounding my amps ,to the rear batt or on the frame?

i found two 75 ah sealed cells for 119 each.... so does anyone know of a cell or maybe 2 that will be the same price with just as many amp hours shiped to my door? im also gonna do another run of 0 gauge and maybe running them stright to the alt.... im also thinking about getting the mising link high setting to 15.7

I'm looking at getting a Deka 9A31 (actually the O'reilly branded one that's the same thing). For my Dodge Magnum. The Magnum has the battery in the rear and I do not have a suitable place to run a second battery so I want a battery I can run alone, no other starting battery. Will the 9A31 handle being a daily driver? I came across some truck/bus forum that mentioned that they did not have good luck with them. In addition to being the starting battery it will be running a pair of Sundown 100.2's and a Sundown 1500d and I have the factory 160 amp alternator. Hey guys. once again i'm having another problem..my head unit isn't getting any power. I went to instal my voltage meter that i got today and then the no power problem started. I finished installing the voltage meter and everything was working fine. I pulled the head unit back down to put the RCA cables back in and it seemed like the music volume started to get lower and lower. I finished everything and picked the HU back up to put it back into the dash and everything just quit working. So i have 2 Earthquake PH5000/d1 amps running 4 FI SSD 15s. I have found a low popping noise in the speakers from 1 of the amps. When i unplug the RCA cables from it it gets louder. I tried switching the 2 amps and it stays on that one amp. I also have an audiocontrol in dash epicenter that can measure dbs.
