I'm looking for broken amps that anyone is parting with. I'm a newbie tech looking to fix amplifiers.

I am looking into adding a second battery and all i need to know is whether i am missing any big deals/sales right now, or if anyone has a better option for me in the $180.00 range?! Can anyone point me into the direction of a better "deal" than the hc1400 for $165.00?! eBay Thanks!

I'm looking at getting a Deka 9A31 (actually the O'reilly branded one that's the same thing). For my Dodge Magnum. The Magnum has the battery in the rear and I do not have a suitable place to run a second battery so I want a battery I can run alone, no other starting battery. Will the 9A31 handle being a daily driver? I came across some truck/bus forum that mentioned that they did not have good luck with them. In addition to being the starting battery it will be running a pair of Sundown 100.2's and a Sundown 1500d and I have the factory 160 amp alternator. My buddy gave me an idea on how to mount my amp, but it will touching the batteries...will that harm anything when the amp is on?

So I am trying to figure out which LOC is best. I know about the 3SIXTY, CleanSweep, and new MS-8. I'm not really looking for anything that complicated. I want to retain my factory steering wheel functions, sat. radio, bluetooth func. etc. I really believe in the modo, K.I.S.S.=Keep It Simple Stupid. i found two 75 ah sealed cells for 119 each.... so does anyone know of a cell or maybe 2 that will be the same price with just as many amp hours shiped to my door? im also gonna do another run of 0 gauge and maybe running them stright to the alt.... im also thinking about getting the mising link high setting to 15.7

Can i wire my 4 subs to a Sundown 100D and give around 250RMS to each sub? Is this safe? Would it look like OPTION 1 from this: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=4&I=22 And for this i wuld get 4 Dual 2-ohm.

Is there a way that i can test voltage drop with a digital multimeter

Is it bad to lose strands of power wire overtime from lets say, disconnecting the wire from terminals and clamps, or even accidentally slicing some off when cutting away at the insulation? Do you lose conductivity and/or lessen amp load of the wire? Also, would using a coupler to add on to an existing power wire to make it longer be okay to do? Or would I have to run a new longer wire to the size I need?

Here is my problem. I know the out put values on the amp @ 2ohm(115wrms) and 4ohm(75wrms),what I don't know is the output @ 3ohm which is waht my comps are. Should I assume a midpoint? And effectivly gain down to say 85w(100wrms 3ways and 90wrms 2ways)meaning figure voltage for 85w @ 3ohms and set accordingly. Or do I just need to get an o-scope and do it on a bench?

Ok well right now i have a pair of Polk db651's in my front doors, and my stock bose speakers in the back (they barely put out any sound at all that i can hear). I have a sony gt620ip (not the best but its what i have). Now the question is... Will my front speakers get more power from the h/u if i disconnect the back two speakers?

hello i need amp wt these specs for my jbl gt 4 1000 watt 2 woofers please suggest me a good a amp 125W/2 ohms bridged mono (bridging into 4 ohms). Amp should have 4 channels each rated for 125W/2 ohms.

I have a head unit that puts out 4 volts, is a line driver neccessary? Am using the AQ2200D amp if thats neccessary. Thanks

Hey guys. once again i'm having another problem..my head unit isn't getting any power. I went to instal my voltage meter that i got today and then the no power problem started. I finished installing the voltage meter and everything was working fine. I pulled the head unit back down to put the RCA cables back in and it seemed like the music volume started to get lower and lower. I finished everything and picked the HU back up to put it back into the dash and everything just quit working. I thought that maybe some wire just came loose so i checked everything and it all looked fine. I just cant figure out what it is. Everything is wired together just like it should be, exce…

Okay so im putting in a new system in my car and i need to know if there is a reason to buy a crossover and put one in. ok so last night and all day today everythings been great. setup has been beatin pretty good. ok so i went to my ol' lady's house today and had no problems what so ever on the way. my car set for 4-5 hours. i go to leave and my car wouldnt start. thought it might be a loose batt terminal checked that didnt work. my voltage meter said 12.8 turn the key and it would go to 0.0 then to 9.0 and back to 12.8. ended up using a jump box to get it started and voltage went right up to like 15.3 with the headlights on. if i turned my volume up over 1/4 up the stereo would shut off ,lights would dim ,and voltage would drop to like 9.0 ...hit the highway and i could turn it bout 1/2 w…

Just wondering where I can purchase this amp?

I have an older Rockford Fosgate 500.2 unit and I had some questions about setting the gain. Everything I have read shows to take the RMS wattage X the ohm then get the square root of that. My only problem is since my amp is technically a 2 channel I am wondering how I do this with it in bridged mode. That wouldn't normally be an issue aside from the fact that this amp also has a left and a right gain control. Now the amp is 500 RMS x 1 at 4 ohm bridged OR 125 x 2 @4ohm stereo. How would I go about using a DMM to set these gains as close to perfect as possible?

Hi guys im be in a process of putting 2 dc xl on 2 aq 2200s strapped and my h/o is a 125amp if i get a xs d7500 will be enough for my aq2200s or get a 270 amp alt and d3100 be good im low on cash right now thats y im asking if a xs d7500 be enough help

i have an 03 b5.5 sedan, just wondering if anyone knows how on earth i should access the alt and where in gods name i can find the engine-->chassis wire.... its like a jungle in there... links/pics greatly appreciated.
