I'm planning to upgrade my electrical. My battery is in the back of the car (Magnum). Couldn't I just run new wire from the alt to a pair of separate batteries? Rather than wire all three together? I'd be running a pair of 105 AH marine deep cycle batts, dry cells, separate from a regular dry cell car battery. I've never seen it done, although i'm sure it has been. Thanks.

If I run 0 guage fron front batt to rear batt, then connect two amps to rear batt whats the best way....1} run single power wire to distro block fron rear batt 2} run an individual wire from each amp to the batt? Second part whats the best for grounding rear batt? run a ground back to front batt or ground to chassis or both? Also same question on grounding my amps ,to the rear batt or on the frame?

I have an older Rockford Fosgate 500.2 unit and I had some questions about setting the gain. Everything I have read shows to take the RMS wattage X the ohm then get the square root of that. My only problem is since my amp is technically a 2 channel I am wondering how I do this with it in bridged mode. That wouldn't normally be an issue aside from the fact that this amp also has a left and a right gain control. Now the amp is 500 RMS x 1 at 4 ohm bridged OR 125 x 2 @4ohm stereo. How would I go about using a DMM to set these gains as close to perfect as possible?

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Incriminator-Audio-I-Series-6.5%22-Components.html So I bought a set of these. Just wondering what peoples opinions would be on a amp thats roughly 75x2 (figured that cus it seems like it'd be more common that 85x2). Size isn't really a problem. Looking to spend 50-100$. Know thats not that much but really just want something better than running them off the head unit. So what do you guys think?

Okay heres the deal. I have two Mach 5 SPL-12s. I currently have them for sale. However numerous people on a few forums say I'll regret selling them. I'm trying to figure out how much it'll cost me to get these things going. I have a camper shell already for my truck, but I need accordian gasket to go between the truck and the camper shell. I am not sure what I'd do for amp(s). I would like to get a SAZ-3000D refurb but I dobut I can afford it. I have been looking at the Audiopipe AP3000.1D, which is like $350. The subs are Dual 2s though, I may be better off with two 1500W amps as opposed to one 3000W amp. I am not sure what batteries I can get. Yellow Tops here are $3…

Allright guys, I was working on the car last night, and re-doing my grounds and re-running everything neatly...and what not...and put everything together nicely. I got done, and now my amplifiers stay on constantly even when I kill the car. And my headunit will not turn on. I did pull the H/U but I checked everything behind it, and nothings loose or broken. If I un-plug the Remote wire from the amps, they turn off.....seems like they are getting power from a hot source, but the H/U will not come on. I didn't let anything touch in the trunk, or anything...no fuses have blown...no loose connections anywhere. I'm stumped .....never ran into this problem before....has any one…

  13. Okay guys so I got a 2008 ford escape and right Now I'm running two 12" Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 in a sealed enclosure. They are powered by a crunch 1500.1 mono amp. I am most like going to be selling the amp for around $150. So my budget will be around $250-$300. These subs do 1000rms a piece so I'm looking for around 1500-2000 rms. I am aware that I will have to upgrade to 1/0 gauge everything and prob get a capacitor but I'm willing to deal. I have been lookin at some hifonics amps that do around 1700 rms at 2 ohms and they are around 300 on some sites. But as always I appreciate any and all suggestions thanks, Nick

I got my 2500d today in the mail and i want to make sure i get it all tuned up nicely so i don't damage anything. I went completely brain dead about where to put the lpf and ssf so if you guys could help me out on that? My box is tuned at 35 hz. Secondly I have my dmm and I'm thinking I would set the gains somewhere around 1500 watts, so √1500= 38.73 would that be an ok tuning for my sa15s or should I turn it down a bit? I know they are rated at 600 a piece but I've been told by multiple people on here that they can take more if the power is clean. I'm just listening to music on them so I don't need it cranked up but I want it to be able to shake people inside of my car.

Ok I am looking for a complete amp wiring kit. It will be going to a Autotek 1000.1 amp, and two JL w6v2's in a sealed box. I am not to sure what to look at considering the amp wiring kit. I want a 4 gauge main wire but my question is how do I look at the watts? what does it have mainly to do with and what is the appropriate watts for the kit?

I'm in a quandary. I need to make a quick decision on amp. Equipment I have is 220 amp alt, big three done, two hc 2400. Subs are two fi ssd dual 2, box tuned to 45 Hz. I plan on competing in s3 and trying to decide which amp to get before pre-order ends. Would you go with the saz-2500 or the saz-3500. All info and suggestions appreciative.

I saw a discussion about this a long while ago on some audio site and can't find it again. I just wanted to know if there are any substancial advantages to running power wire directly from the alt to the back battery bank. For example: I have 4 runs of 1/0 running from front to back, 2+ and 2-. Right now, both + are running back from the + on my front battery. Would it be advantagous to run one run back from the + on the front battery, and the other from the + on the alt to the back battery bank? Advantages, disadvantages, not matter? My electrical will consist of 2+ and 2- runs of 1/0 from front to back, big 3 in 1/0, one 290 amd DC alt (2 in the future), g34 YellowTop u…

Having a small issue with the 9884. The H/U automatically decreases the treble (noticeably) above 25 on the volume setting. Same problem when using the tuner/xm unit to which I have the gain at maximum on the xm or else it's too low. How can I turn this automatic function off? My old Cda-9827 used to crank the volume way higher with NO problem. Now I can only reach 90% of its limits before it starts changing the balance and sounds like chit. Pisssing me off

Here is my problem. I know the out put values on the amp @ 2ohm(115wrms) and 4ohm(75wrms),what I don't know is the output @ 3ohm which is waht my comps are. Should I assume a midpoint? And effectivly gain down to say 85w(100wrms 3ways and 90wrms 2ways)meaning figure voltage for 85w @ 3ohms and set accordingly. Or do I just need to get an o-scope and do it on a bench?
