What do you guys use to crimp the larger power and ground wires. I don't have a need for the crimper that big much but got by with using the vise. Any other methods?

Hello all, Quick question about wire gauges. I did some research and found Recommended Power and Ground Cable Size so think I should be okay, but wanted to check in with this community first. Currently, I have 1/0 power cable running from the battery to the back of my truck. It hooks into a distro block and from that block I have two 4 gauge wire roughly ~2 feet or less connecting to two amps. One of them is 1000rms mono amp, and the other is a 100.2 amp for my front speakers. If I upgrade the 1000rms amp to 1500rms, will the 4 gauge wire be able to handle the extra power since it is only a very short distance? The ground for the 1000rms amp is also ~2 feet…

I have 8guage kicker ofc wiring kit in my truck. Right now its powering one powerbass asa 400.2 subwoofer amp that puts 400 rms. I have an old amp that i want to put on my front door speakers that is 55x2 rms. Would my 8 guage wire be enough for that also? Or do i need to get another wiring kit to be safe? Thankyou. Oh and is there any advice for wiring my front doors? I want both amps in the back of thetruck. Do i run wires from where the factory wires are to the amp for high level input then another back to the doors? Or do i take the wire out of the door and then to the amp And to the doors? Thanks for any help.

I'm running 1 Linear Power 5002iq to 1- 12" sub rated for 500 rms. Linear Power suggests a 60 amp fuse, 1 at the battery and 1 at the amp. The amp has 8 gauge power wire hardwired in to connect to. Do I need to run 4 gauge from the battery to a distribution block or can I get away with 8 gauge from the battery all the way back? Thanks

I thought this might make a worth while thread for anyone getting ready to buy wire/cable and wants to shop around. This isn't meant to do any bashing, it's just to let people know what they can expect when ordering some wire. If you care to add to the comparison, please have at least two varieties compared(don't just post a pic of some wire). List the Manufacturer, Size, and location of purchase. From left to right... 1. Since my local Facebook page I follow won't answer my question, I'll come here. I've blown 3 fuses in the past two days with my crappy amp wire kit. I kept putting off getting a good set of wire because I'm lazy and didn't want to spend money. However, I've decided that I can't put it off any longer. I have a few questions about what I should get. Definitely getting Sky High Car Audio because that's what I've seen work best from friends. I have a Cobalt CB3200 amp powering two RE SXX V2 15's (Also keep in mind I will be upgrading amps when money comes along, so I would rather prepare for that now so I don't have to buy twice the wire). I plan on doing the big 3 since…

I've seen that some amps have a wired remote controller and my question is what does it do. Does it control the gain or bass boost because both of these are controlled by knobs on the amp so whats the point of having the remote? I don't know if this was posted before but i couldn't find anything on it.

im looking to do the big 3 in my truck. i was wondering if i could do this in 4awg instead of 1/0 since all im running is the setup in my sig and not even 1000 watts. i have no plans of upgrading in the near future, so i figure why not. im gonna be using knu for the wire, and their 4awg is a lot cheaper per foot then the 1/0. also, i have everything i need for my sub and amp and everything, except speaker wire. i was also looking at knu for this. i was wondering what you guys which speaker wire from them, and which gauge you guys would recommend. if you guys could give me some links that would be awesome. THANKS! for any info you guys can give.

Im about to purchase all of my wiring so i can get started building my system, but i want to make sure i buy the right stuff. My system consists of one ss rl-p off of an aq2200d at 4 ohms, polk momo component set, and a kicker zx200.4 running those. (stock electrical). I talked to a guy at knuconcepts and he told me i should get the 0 gauge kit, with a knd-23 distro block that has 2 0 gauge ports, and three 4 guage ports. He said i should run the 0 gauge kit to one 0 gauge port, the run some 1/0 from the other port to the aq2200d. then run some 4g from one of the 4g ports to the kicker. If that made any sense could you tell me if that works? lol

Where do you guys get your wiring from? I was thinking of getting my RCAs from KnuKnoceptz (Krystal series). I've read about getting power wire from WeldingSupply.com. But this is from posts from a year or more ago. Just curious where everyone else goes.

I am wondering how to go about wiring 2 older fin style rf bd 1000.1 amps to a single 18" old 3 stack Fi btl. The sub needs a recone so I could get dual 2 or 1 ohm coils.both the amps have the spot for the sync cord.the real question I have is one amp to each coil @ 2 ohm? or get the dual 1 ohm coils and run both amps in parallel to both coils in parallel? I never used the bd sync cord, don't know if I should trust it? I don't want one workin harder than the other.as u guys know I'm looking for a 2 ohm load on these amps. Thanks a ton for any input!!!

My friend wants me to put these in his truck and I want to get everything out of them both. The sub is single 2 ohms 300 watts rms, and the amp is 300 watts bridged at 4 ohms and 150 wattsx2 at 2ohms. Is there some way i can wire it to get the 300 watts or is he going to have to deal with the 150 or get new equipment? Thanks

k, i got a question, im getting ready to order my amp(s) and im considering getting 2 bxi 1608d, which would give 1100w RMS at 2 ohms http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12211_...+BXi+1608D.html i have the dual1 on the BLs, i was told i could only wire each at .5 or 2 ohms, or join them together and get 1 or 4 ohms? so i decided to take the "Easier" way and choose 2 amps, 1 per sub i am confused as to which would be the correct way f wiring these so the correct way to wire this would be option 2 since its a 2ohm load, but it says the woofer is 4ohms(crutchfield) but then the rockford has the 2ohm woofer at 1 ohm anf both diagrams are the same? so wat ohms would a dual1 be…

Ok so I am about to add a battery soon to my system and I was talking to a local audio place and he said an idea and wanted to make sure it would work without issue's. So When i run my wire back from my front battery I need to place a fuse close to that battery, Then everyone always says you should place another fuse right before the rear battery on the same power line. Then I wasn't for sure if you need another fuse between the rear battery and the amp also since its only like a 2-3ft wire of power?... But ok.. so he said instead of buying a fuse near my rear battery and a fuse between the amp and rear battery ( because this would = 3 total fuses ) He said on the rear b…

I am in need of the wiring diagram for the inputs of the JBL amps for a 2012 Toyota FJ. I know the voltage should be well below 6volts and want to convert them to a rca plug to install and after market system while still using all the factory headunti features. This is for a friend and I do not have the FJ handy to look at things. I am preplanning and any help would be awesome!
