i am planning on buying a kinetik hc1800, and do the big 3 with 0awg, but will it be enough to power a RF T1500-1BD and a power acoustiks 1000 watt max 4-channel, i know it wont be full tilt, but just wanna know if it would power it welll, if not, what else can i do, swap it for a kinetik hc2000???? open for sugestions, and really cant afford a HO alternator, i have a silverado 2000 4.3 single cab,

I am capping it a ~$200, so a $220 would be an option but thats at the most. I am mostly considering the HC800, but was wondering if any of the Stinger batteries are better.

in the pinned topic, it says "Gain Setting Equation Voltage of the output = sqrt(RMS Power X impedance of the speaker)" i have a 2ohm DVC sub, so is my impedance 2ohms? or 4ohms? (2[dvc]*2ohms) or 1ohms because i'm putting it as a 1 ohm load onto my sub? the DVC is what throws me off here, the thread doesn't specify whether it matters or not. it also says to stick the positive and negative into the amp terminal... well my amp has 4 (2 of each polarity) terminals, should i use the negative from one set, adn the postive from the other? ex) A+ and B-? or ex) A+ and A-? thats my amp.

I heard that circuit breakers are not a good idea. Is it tru that they lose their capacity every time they are tripped. So the first time it will trip at rated load, then it will begin to trip at lower values every time it is tripped?

this may be a dumb question but i figured id give it a shot... im so tired of having my old iraggi alt (ford 3g) sitting around so is there any way possible to make this alt fit my '02 5.4 f150? it currently has a ford 6g alt. i checked and yess the plug is the same on both alts. but the bolt pattern is different. i wish i had a extra $250 siting around so i could pick up a nice used alt. for my truck but i dont and i cant get rid of this alt. so can it be done??

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4.7L engine. I am going to be installing a rather large system, and I am having no luck finding a go replacement alt. I will do either a new replacement or if i can find a shop in the Houston area i dont mind upgrading my current alternator. Any help would be great

I was thinking about trying to put in 2 ssa fcons when they come out. I think they said they would be 600watts rms a piece. I drive '97 corolla with stock alt and a run-of-the-mill battery. The stock alternator is 70-80 amps i believe. 1200w would most likely be too much for the electric even with the big 3 and a new battery? I cant find any specific h/o alternators for my car. Not to mention that I probably couldn't afford to buy an expensive one and have it put in. I may just stick with dcons if this is the case.

I have tried to read as much as possible to educate my self on the power needed to feed my 1000 watt peak system. It seems like the wisest first step would be to upgrade my alternator, then add a second deep cycle battery with a high ah rating and enough amps to supply the power. I have searched for high amp alternators for my 1991 omc ford 2.3 liter ford engine but I am told they dont exist. One person sugested haveing it worked on by a alternator shop and having them install a higher output kit . I would love to have a separate battery or two that I charge in between boat trips dedicated specificlly for the audio and leave the boat operating system alone. TO play my sys…

Anyone have any experience with this head unit? Looks nice and the features seem pretty good for a double din. Can be had for under 350 new and about 250 used. So has anyone tried this one out, or has anyone had problems with it? Would like to step up to a dvd head unit and this seems like a decent deal. Don't really want to spend too much (around 300 max) so that I can save up for some xcons. Also I could give a crap about ipods. I use either my zune or the pioneer cd-ub100 with a portable hard drive for music (which this deck has the plug in for it)

I just recently purchased a Sundown SAZ 1500d amp and I was lookin thru the manual and I noticed something in it that if I'm running 1 sub that I should run the -wire to the positive and the +wire from the sub to the negative terminal on the amp for the speakers. Is this a error or this is the way I'm supposed to do it ?

I currently have a Kenwood Excelon 891 hu and have been happy until now. I'm looking for another clean 24 bit dac, cd, mp3 player. This one is under warrenty getting fixed and thinking about another. I just want a clean sounding quality cd player that can play ipod and sirius. I want sound quality over anything. Any suggestions I'm at a loss on where to go what brand and such. Thinking about Alpine 9887, what do you guys think?

I have a 2008 yukon with a stock alt...if i were to add a second alt,say a dc xp 280...can i leave my stock alt running the stock battery...then have my dc alt powering 3 xs3400...

Okay heres the deal. I have two Mach 5 SPL-12s. I currently have them for sale. However numerous people on a few forums say I'll regret selling them. I'm trying to figure out how much it'll cost me to get these things going. I have a camper shell already for my truck, but I need accordian gasket to go between the truck and the camper shell. Im looking at this crescendo BC2000D for my fully loaded BL 15 dual 2. Want to run it at 1 ohm . I rather buy a amp that has a little more to give, for if i upgrade from the BL to a different line down the road. Also the price isn't bad. Good choice or no ?

I have a AQ1200d with the clipping indicator on the gain knob, and I noticed that the light blinks earlier than it did before. For example, on a certain song the volume on the HU would be 22 without any clipping. Now at 22 on the same song, it blinks, so I bring it down to 21 and no blinks. I noticed this happened a couple months before also, and it feels like the power of the system is depleting. Is this a sign the electrical is giving out? Right now, I'm running a 150a alternator, big 3, d34 yellowtop for the front only, and 1400rms for the total of the amps.

i can get the clarion for about 200 and the pioneer for about 300. is it worth goin for the pioneer? its my first active set up. i could afford some better speakers if i get the clarion... and i really like the look on the clarion for some reason... idk why...

So, after doin some lookin at line drivers, it seems they are worthless to use if the goal is to achieve higher SPL for burps but... i have another goal. Are the preamp sub outs on the head unit low frequency or full range then converted in the mono amp? Excuse my ignorance, I'm as "newbie" as it gets with this stuff. Basically, is there a difference in using them as opposed to line out on the 4-channel amp into the mono?

I have a 2006 Corolla Type S. My alternator is 70 amps. I have a Batcap 800 as kinda like a 2nd battery for my JBL GTO 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms. My system dims a lil bit but not too badly at night. I had a pair of Kicker CVX 12s powered off this amp and one blew and I sold the other one. I also had a pair of Orion HP12s and one blew and I still have the other one. Im gonna get Fi BL 18 2 ohm and im looking for an amp under $150....what am i looking for a class D amp or what theirs so many!!!,,,,,i also wanna max the RMS at 1000watts...and btw to max the subs Rms am i looking for a sub that has 1000watt RMS at 2 ohms or 1 ohm??

I have one SAZ 1500v.2 and I also have one Crunch GP3000d-Pro. I need to power 2 FI Q's and was gonna run the Crunch amp but appearance wise two matching SAZ1500's would look much better. The subs are Dual 1's so I would have to run the Sundowns at .5ohm to get a 1 ohm load but I would be easy with the gain knob and also will have the electrical to back them up. Anyone see a problem with this other than warranty issues. Curious what to do. I know both will do work but Im sorta torn. Im thinking the 2 Sundowns may sound cleaner but at .5 maybe not? My trucks interior is all black, lol

i have recently installed a subwoofer in my car, its a hertz hx250 d wich delivers 450Wrms in 2 ohm. It is driven by a Audison SR 1D mono amplifier wich delivers 460 wrms in 2 ohm. i just discovered that adjusting this shit was easier said than dine. So i wonder if anyone might help me along with tips and advises. Kay.
