just wondering how reliable pioneer HU's are at puting our rated power  Ive got it installed in my 92 grand am. it runs for as much as $193 on yahoo shopping, but i bought it off some guy on FXN for 115 shipped. edit: i just read that its rated at 22 watts rmsX4. only the two rear speakers work and its pretty loud. wonder how loud it'd get with new speakers and an amp B) edit found 1 on ebay thats factory remanufactured for $129 starting bid and its not too bad of a head unit for a poor man like me

Apparently I'm addicted to power. I currently have a ton of equipment sitting in the basement, and no vehicle to put it all in. Seem I keep buying amplifiers. I own a work van that I drive daily, a 1966 Buick that looks pretty in the driveway, and I have no intention of putting a system in that. I just have way too much hardware so my plans keep changing. I'm after a total SQ install, and "over the top volume"(across all frequency ranges not just bass) is something that is VERY important to me. EXTREME mid-bass and VERY clear loud highs are a must. Any suggestions as to which equipment I use and don't use are welcome. here is a list: HU- Denford 8240 HU- Denford 8240 Cap…

Hey guys, new to the forum. I'm working on a project right now, and I'm in need of some information on relays. From what I have seen, though i may be wrong, a generic relay that can just handle, say, .3-2v, is not suitable for line level audio because of signal degredation. Is this true, and if so, are there any relays out there that can handle line level audio without perceptable loss in quality? What I'm looking to set up is an add-on to my OnStar interface. I want to set up a 6-channel relay interface box with a two-channel input from the OnStar interface and a 6-channel input from my headunit, then 6-channel output going to the amps. Normally, it would come from the …

Tracy, I saw some info in here the other day about the newer amp lines. I was hoping for a refresher and also wondering along the lines of AB power... 750X2 @ 1 or 4 Ohms or so, maybe 1500 @ 2Ohms. Basically I mant alot of controll, like one of the new lines seemed to offer. I am going to be powering 2 Brahmas (I needed a little more umph ). I am hoping to keep them in a foot each so power needs to be about 750-1100 or so per driver. I like the Cadence Z1500, or a pair of Z9000s. I am even kicking DEI around (2400D) but it is a D amp. I really want an AB. Also I was wondering if you might hit me some rough prices up. Thanks Bud, Seth

specificly the a3000db, here, and the a520-2hp, here...... what can anyone tell me about them? how are their amps in general? the reason i am asking is becuz a install i am about to start might include these two amps, if they are atleast capable of their rated power and good performers... also, if u can list amps in the same power range, the mono amp needs to be either 1/2 ohm or 2 ohm stable(the subs are dvc 2ohm) for around the same price...plz list....i need them to be a "matching" pair thanks all wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I just got my 12" H2 but I have spent to much funds lately. I still have to get my components and an amp for the components. I really wanted to get a 2500 amp but its not going to happen for now. So do you think I will be missing out a lot by getting a 1200 amp? I will be running it in a 1.5 cu ft sealed enclosure.

Hey guys i was recommend here by denim. Be patient i don't know much about stereos, i'm a motor guy. Here's my situation, my explorer has an xtant 3300x powering then entire stereo system. It burned out about 3 weeks ago, supposidly a shop is fixing it, but they say they are having trouble getting parts. I'm growing impatient because i have nothing at all, because i have a non powered eclipse head unit. I'd like to replace it with a xtant 603, but at the moment even a refurbished one is a little much for my budget. Could i get away with using a xtant 403 to power the whole thing? Pics of the stereo are on the second or third page of my cardomain in my sig. I have a do…

I will talk in depth about all of the topics you want but I need a start----you guys from FXN.net know me pretty well to know I can talk for days about car audio. for the guys that don't know me---- http://www.fordexplorer.net/viewforum.php?f=10 Alot of the stickys are mine. Read and enjoy. Live and LEARN, Dave

Just want to wire a friends two under-dash neon's and one under the back seat to a single toggle switch mounted on the dash. Battery ---> power wire (16ga) ---> inline fuse (5amp) ---> more power wire ---> 12v power on switch Acc on on switch ---> neon x3 (splicing all together to run off the single switch) Ground switch and tube. Right? Wrong? Your feet smell? Perhaps just using the cigarette lighter in the car. Cut the wires off the back of the lighter in the dash, cut the DC adapter off of the neon, wires from lighter into switch ... ? Probably the easiest way if it works ... Thoughts and opinions. Going for simplicity. - Steve

Hey guys, this is a question for Dave Edwards but I want everyone else to chime in too. I am considering going with an MTX 81000d or 1501 amp. The question at hand is, if i went with the MTX 81000d I'm gonna get a modded version. Since its modded would i have a higher chance of blowing the amp? Does anyone know anything about the 81000d? Now for the 1501amp... can u modd it to 1ohm? If I do.... what is the possiblity of me blowing that? Does anyone know the rating on the 1501 if u did drop it to 1ohms? And finally..... can the 81000d be runned daily? Has anyone had experiance with them? Help me out

Being a RF employee, I get a chance to beta test some of the units that we have created this year. Right now, I am currently testing the Power T15004: 125 W X 4 @ 4 Ohms RMS 250 W X 4 @ 2 Ohms RMS 375 W X 4 @ 1 Ohms RMS 500 W X 2 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS 750 W X 2 @ 2 Ohms Bridged RMS It is 1ohm stable! It is pushing out a lot more than the rated power though...for example: 125W x 4 @ 4 ohms RMS...it is doing 300W x 4 @ 4 ohms RMS!!!!!) The current draw isn't too bad either...(I only have the amp running on 1 channel though.) From what the engineers are telling me though, it is drawing about 200-300 amps at MAX POWER. Here's the kicker: The total RMS (all channels combined…

I have a buddy on another forum that has a KX 600.1 and it keeps going in and out of protection mode. The green light comes on for a while, then cycles back into protect, then green, then protect............. Any idea what the problem is? He let one of his friends mess with it one day and I guess they cranked the gains full tilt. He blew his L7. He took it out for a little while and hooked it up to another driver and it was working fine. When he put it back in his car after getting his new L7, it started doing all this. I think he's screwed, but maybe not. Any suggestions? Thanks!
