A friend of mine has been quizzing me on what amp to get for his highs. Suggestions?

Im getting ready to install theese products in my 1991 Ford Explorer XLT and would like some advice whether these brands are any good at all and if not what else to get with the stuff I have already bought..ok.. this is what I've got Brand: Lanzar Vibe 248 1200 Watts Amp(for subs) Brand:Dual 12 Inch Subs In Bandpass Box Brand:Jensen A222HLX 250 Amp(for front stock speakers, possibley rear stock as well). Wondering what you guys think are some good amps with something of this configuration. 1200-1500w @ 2ohm. Class D, mono sub amp, Simple xo would be nice, I like allen-set screws for terminals. Dependable, clean, and consistant on output. Also, something I don't have to spend $800 on. thanks.

I have my mind pretty made up on this deck. Anybody know anywhere that has it in stock that has a reasonable price on it? I hope thezeb gets it soon. I know a place where I can pricematch it for 380 or so but they aren't in stock. I am all hyped up about it.

Anyone know anything about these old series 1 amps? Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp, Series 1 4060x with high and low crossovers - $50 shipped (4x30wrms@4ohms, 4x60wrms@2ohms, 2x180wrms@4ohms) I'm not sure that such an old amp has the best crossovers for SQ purposes but just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with em and whether pricewize was even worth it.

Should I keep my old amp (Rockford 800.2) pushing 200 watts X 2 RMS (800 X 1 bridged) or my brand new Hifonics 1000D. Hard decision. =\ Is the Hifonics 1000 X 1 RMS? Or 1000 max power? I think my Hifonics can run more stable at 1 ohm.

Hey guys, I have a dxz925 clarion deck and wanted to know about the filter on the deck and my amp. Is it all by ear? I currently have the deck lp filter off and the amp around 60-70hz? Hard to tell with the generic dial on the amp. Is it better to have both on? I have a choice of 50, 80, and 120hz on the deck, and 50hz on up on the amp. I notice the subs sound weird when I turn the amp xo up to much, don't know how to describe the sound, but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. So would you recommend me trying? thanks. btw the gains are about 1/2 way up. sealed box, so ssf is off.

ok im runnin low on resources to complete my install..so i was thinking of ways to save some money... Im going to be runnin 2 amps...a BX1000D and an older PG QX4150 fuses are 60 and 40 the Brutus takes 4 gauge while the PG takes 8 Now heres my question...i was gonna run 1/0 from the batt to the distroblock then split it into 4gauge and 8 gauge Now instead im thinking of runnin 4gauge from the batt then split it at the distro block into another 4 and 8 gauge Anyone against doin that?

I've had about 3 of them and l loved each one the same, I've had alot of big amps and this lil puppy is the only one that starts to smoke the coils on my DDs within mins of serious play, not enough to blow my 9515s but if you ever need a small amp that puts out a REAL 1500-1800 watts D300hc is the only way to go for 250-300 bucks the only down side is that it does NOT have a subsonic filter and me and other guys like me that loves the sound of a ported enclosure , that comes in handy.. just bought me another one for 80 bucks (blown)

today iinstalled 2 15" idq's in individual sealed compartment..maybe 1.75ft^3 a piece, being pushed off a memphis pr series amp(the big 2 channel one) and here's the deal...after a few bass hits..it quits playin....one sub sucks in and the other pushes out. u turn the h/u for a few seconds, it'll start playing again and then uit again. here is what i checked.. 1) the amp never goes into protect mode and doesn't shut off when the subs quit playin...also the amp was benched about a month ago because of the same problem..different car...tested ok 2) all connections are tight..had to fix a few on the box terminals 3) changed from mono bridged to stereo to play with the impede…

Most of this is not from first hand experince so please correct me where I am wrong. I'm just trying to save people the time they use asking this question. Memphis mc-1000d aka 16st-1000d - So the amp I would most recomend in this price would be this. VERY efficent amp at about 85-90%. Costs about $360 shipped on ebay. Puts out 1100 real rms watts at 1ohm at 13.X volts. VERY small also. I often recomend this to people with Brahma's and subs like it. A large step above JBL and Hifonics. mc is black pearl in color, st is silver/chrome. This amp gets my vote. Great SQ with low distortion also. I'm torn between the following choices in amplifiers... JL 300/2 Audison LRx 2.250 ARC Audio 2100CXL Linear Power 2.2hv PPI ART A600 I have been told that my Koda's will take full range..but that's just not floating my boat at this moment..probably cross them at 60ish..so Out with the LP and PPI... Someone either suggest something new..or help me make up my mind. The only difference with the other 3 is price. With my budget...the ARC and JL will have to be used, while I have a chance to get the Audison at a great price. I wish I had heard about eclipse before.. got my 8053 deck installed today... not running it balanced yet.. waiting for the summer to do that.. This deck is sweet.. Never heard a deck so clear before.... my subs clip at high volume now but that another storey.... I'll just turn the gain down I've only had about 1 hour in the car listening to it but I'm very impressed and very happy with it..
