Ok, so basically a gain is this : the voltage from the RCA wires is say 250mV, and the amp takes that and does its thing which would amplify it by say 90dB, which means the subs would be receiving 250mV * 90dB, whatever that is.. and then introducing the gain just increases the voltage from the RCA to the amp so the amp would perceive the RCA to be sending a higher voltage, say 250mV * 10dB of gain, which the amp would then amplify the 250mV * 10dBof gain * 90dB which would then hit the speakers.. Is that correct? All the numbers are just random, just tryin to see if I got the idea..

These videos will show you why you need to have a proper electrical system backing your amps.

I have two questions... 1st. How do you set the time on this thing. I lost my book for it so Im a little lost. And 2nd. On the HU there is a subwoofer control thing. And the options are, Forward, Reverse, and Normal. What does that do and how would it affect the subs performance?

I am installing a Jensen MCD 6115, and two Jensen power 760 amps in my boat. The reciever has output of 200 watts ( 50 x 4 ). After I hook up amps through rca preamps at reciever does that reciever 200 watts transfer through the amp? or can I still use those reciever speaker leads for 50 x 4?

My friend just got a Sundown 3,000 for his truck. I brought up the idea of maybe trading my DD M3a for his SAZ3,000. He's doesn't care either way. What would you do and why? Side notes: For now I will have one amp on 2 ZCON 18"s at .5 ohm. Then get a second of either and have each at 1 ohm daily, and .25 for shows and such.

I was thinking about buying an mlx-100. I wanted to use it to take the subwoofer output on my 3sixty.2 and branch that signal into 4 outputs to power 4 of my saz1500s. (I know I could do this with y adapters as well). My question reguards sending the 4 output signals unbridged to the amps. In the video posted below they show you need to connect a and b, c and d but then stop. These are all positive polarity. Would I only be able to send identical outputs to 2 amplifiers this way? What is the deal with this? Please enlighten me. Also would it be a better idea just to get y adapters? I really don't know anything about the mlx-100 except for the fact that you could control …

Undecided on which HU to get, i want touchscreen, iPod compatible(will get the steering wheel control as well), and while im at it with gps, bluetooth is not necessary. I was looking at these two an Eclipse and a Pioneer. The Eclipse has a much bigger screen and what not, but the faceplate is the one where it moves(i've heard these tend to break/become disfunctional really quick or is taht only for the slide out ones?). While the Pioneer has a slot for discs and does not need to slide/move at all. The Pioneer also looks more "cleaner/smoother". Im not sure lol, my birthday is coming up and i know i will get some money and will need to just put liek 3-400 to get a nice HU.…
