Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ? like i have a 9 band parametric EQ on my alpine 164-bt. and i have alpine spr 60c component speakers. the highs are very harsh. and im debating attempting to mess with my doors to edit the crossover. i have absolutely no clue what im doing with it. and dont want to risk much. i cannot find any videos for the year my car is. i have 2013 hyundai elantra coupe. only video i saw was for a 2005 elantra, 4 door. mine is a 2 door also and many years later. and about the passive crossover. i cant find any pictures only or guides on how to change and edit the crossover? what exactly is an EQ changing…

What is the reasoning for not putting one on? It should not be that hard or cost effective since many line drivers and whatnot have clipping indicators.

I am looking to but 1 18" BTL Fi subwoofer. I can build the box (i hope) and can do a proper job installing it. I have a sufficient enough amp sending 3500 watts continuous power its way. I have 0ga power wire ran 10ga speaker wire. But i have the stock alternator and battery. Is this a problem? would a nice cap handle the difference? Or what should i get to solve the problem?

Well I have finally gotten around to using the MB Quart PXD-213, I have had them sealed in box brand new for 6 years now. Fantastic product just never used them. The question I am having is this and it may sound like a noob issue so please be gentle. i got a question about a rockford fosgate amp so..... i got a fi bl 12'' and had it hooked up to a planet audio rxd1000 and it worked fine but was really underpowered just got mt new amp in today , a rockford fosgate r1000-1d and my sub isnt working now i checked everything from remote wire, to fuses, to how i wired the sub and i cant find out why it isnt working any ideas please?

i have a 2nd post similar to this but not as on point so ive made this one to nail down some questions and make things more searchable in the future. coworker was setting gains on an amp the other day and what he was doing got me thinking. if you follow mecp and set gain off a 40hz tone wouldn't the power output of that amp change drastically if the box were tuned to say 29hz or 55hz (something 1/2 or more octave above/below the frequency you are generating? or transversely if the box were tuned at 40hz...) the thermal handling of both amp and sub (assuming that's one thing you do such a procedure to keep in check) would change drastically while playing music. so wou…

I purchased an armdso nano O-Scope at a good deal, and figured I could maybe use it to tune my amp finally. I know the dmm method of tuning, but I figured why not try it with my oscope. The only thing is, my knowledge is non existent with electronics ironically. How would you tune it with a 1 probe x1-x10 with an alligator ground clip? So i have an old school kicker ZR1000 2 channel "cheater amp". My buddy gave it to me to use and see if i could fix it. the only stipulation is i can never sell it, if i i get rid of it, it must go to another audio guy who would value it. Anyways, i hooked it up about a week ago and have no output. it has power, no protect light and the RCAs are good. i can turn the gain every which way i want but get no ouput. Multi meter reads 0 across the board on the outputs. i opened it up and see no visible damage. He last used it in 2007 and has had it stored in his house since. My amplifier keeps getting EXTREMELY HOT and going into protection mode after 30-45 minutes of listening to music. I bought a 4.4 Farad capacitor to help fix the problem but it keeps happening.. ok so i have a bazooka 500wrms mono im running until i get my saz-1500 fixed.... its running a fosgate power hx2 at 1ohm. its a damn good amp for the brand. i dont know much about it but lately since i got a h/u instead of my mp3 player it goes into protect when the bass hits real low note like on bass i love you for example the real low note when u get major excurssion it goes into protect. is it cause its not 1 ohm stable? gain is about 2/3 up frequency is all the way down bass boost is about 1/4 up sub level on pioneer 680mp is at about -10 thanx in advance

i am using a dmm to tune my amp. and the voltage i am supposed to reach is 38.73 for 1500 watts. the first time i tried i got it by maxing out the gain and then some bass boost. i have the hu at 32 out of 42 and all eq settings at 0. but i adjusted the frequency and tried again and now i can get it back up as high as it was even when putting it back where it was before. whats the problem? and where should i have my bass knob set at while tuning it? i have done the big 3 and have a stinger spp1500d under the hood with 1/0 running to the amp and have a power acoustik ptid-8310nrbt radio and am going to be using a dc xl 12 if this helps any

What do you guys think the best amp would be for my SSD 15 - Copper Coil - DVC 2 Ohm I was looking at the hifonics brutus 1209d - (1200 rms @ 1 ohm ) - $174 shipped The owner of an audio shop down the road from me said that he had a planet audio amp for $200 that puts out 900 rms @ 1 ohm. Thats my two options right now that i'm looking at. I don't really need anything above 1k RMS because its not really needed for my SSD Right?? I don't really want to spend much over 200, but if you guys think that those two options above aren't good at all i'll reconsider. Quick question since I can't find the answer myself. The A5000 is rated at 600x1 (bridged) a 4 ohms. Will it work ok bridged at 2 ohms? I know the old Sound Stream Reference (Ref500) amps would be ok like this. I have 0 experience with Cadence amps though. What do you think?

So i am in the process of a full rebuild and part of the rebuild consist of new batteries. I have all xs power batteries, a d5100r and a xp3000. What would be a decent charger i could have on them? Also what kind of on-board maintainer charger would be good to use?

I want to put 4 of these under my car for now. I wired up my sub and mono amp, but when it comes to finding a multi-channel amp I have no idea what to look for. I know that the horns can handle 150w and they are 8-ohms so two of them wired together should equal 4ohms. So if I have 4 horns that means I need a amp that does 300x2 at 4ohms right? My main problem is that most amps that say 300x2 at 4ohms say bridged and I'm a noob and don't know what bridged means that is what I need help with. which draws more current...both would be run @ 1 ohm can the orion take .5 daily or does it need modding? its for the 12mt in the mini...i have no room for an extra battery either, nor do i want that much more weigh if i did have the room.
