I have a 2008 dodge caliber and I would like to put a double din in it. I could use some help on getting some head units to choose from. I plan on spending between $300-600, more if needed. I'm looking for a head unit that has 3 sets of pre outs, usb, good eq(more than just a 3 band eq), time alignment would be nice (just incase if I ever decide to mess with all that). navigation and bluetooth is all optional but wouldnt hurt. I also have the zed ra, if that makes any difference. one that I have looked at is the Pioneer AVH-P3400BH for $300. Any suggestions and experience on some would be much appreciated.

I have 2 FI BL 12's hooked up to a Hifonics 2500, running at 1ohm. They seem to max out with my stock electrical (granted i have the big 3 and 2 yellowtops in the back) Am i getting the full power out of the amp? I hooked the subs to my buddies car who is running full electrical and 3500 rms and it was insanely louder. What can i do to get more towards his level or atleast max out my amp to give the full 2500 rms to these subs...

So i currently have an aq2200 and i am wanting to get more power. So i was thinking about selling or trading my current amp for either a crescendo bc3500 or an aq3500. But i was thinking maybe i should just buy another aq2200 and strap them. Only thing is i have no clue on how to do this and would not want to mess things up. Is it hard to strap amps and would it be worth to strap them?

I have 2 t2500-1bdcp's that I would like to strap together to run 1 smd 15" subwoofer. I haven't bought the sub yet because I don't know how to wire it to 1 ohm per amp. if anyone could tell me how to strap these amps together and wire the sub that would great.

Hey everyone, I just bought a used Alpine CDA 9885 and I've connected and soldered all the connections together. When I put it in, it turns on and I can go through any of the functions, but whenever I adjust the volume knob, no sound at all is being produced by my speakers. I cannot pick up any sound through the radio, nor the Ipod function, though it will show that it is playing the track on the Ipod. Anyone have any possible ideas on what could've happened? I have already checked my soldered connections, and they seem solid, so I'm not sure what else it might be. Thanks again!

So i am not to familiar with many brands so i would like a few options out there on some amps. What i am looking for is something that is cea rated at 13.8v. I don't need that much power i need 500watts either at 1ohm or 4ohm rated. What i am powering is a single sundown 10" e-series. Reason i need a amp rated at 13.8 is because its going in a 2012 corolla and toyota seems to regulate at a lower voltage which is around 13.8.

So this just recently started happening. I'll be driving normally with the bass going at a decent level, not blasting but a decent level. Then just randomly my escapes information panel will say check break system then the traction control on, traction control off, abs, and parking break lights will all show up. All this happens for half a second accompanied by an alert tone. This only happens on punchy bass. I've checked all connections and they are fine, the battery holds a good charge, the alternator is still putting out, and voltage stays above 14 when this happens. Any ideas?

Will a aq750 be able to run at .5 ohms?

I am looking at two different amps. The sundown 3500 or the crescendo 5500. Both r close and around same price. I hear crescendo is not very good at customer service and theory ratings r rated at 13.8 volts. Sundown on the other hand is known for customer service and umderate their amps, supposingly tested at 12.5 volts. I'm leaning toward the sundown amp and almost commuted to it, but would the crescendo b better especially since they have .05 ohm warranty. What do u guys think?

Hey everyone, I was just pulling the OEM radio out of my 03 civic, and I was matching up the wires in accordance to my female harness. Everything matches perfectly, EXCEPT within the male harness, there is an extra wire that is red. Here is what the male harness diagram looks like: Radio 12v: white/red Radio ground: black Radio Ignition: yellow/red Radio Illumination: red/black I'm going to skip labeling the speaker wires, because that's all correct. All of that is correct, and this red wire is located directly under the red/black wire which is the illumination wire for the radio. Could this red wires function possibly be the illumination ground? I recently bought a 3000 watt audio pip class d mono amp and running it for less then 45mins destroyed my stock alternator. i currently have a 130amp alternator two normal car batteries one in front and in the trunk. every thing hooked up with cheap 0 gauge wire (its not ofc), and i don't have a big3 upgrade. clearly i need to do something before i hook my amp back up. i was thinking either a big3 and big xs battery like a 4k watt one, or a high output alt and a big3, or something. what does everything think of these? i had the 1500 watt version early in the year running 4 ohm on an old school eclipse 12, never ran hot, had no issues with it and i loved the small size of it but people either love it or hate it. i only ask because audiopipe came out with a new 2000 watt model and it looks promising as does most AP products due to cost/watt ratio. looking to actually compete this next year in street stock and street trunk. I've been looking around for a good 4 channel amplifier that cost some where around 350 or less that has a small foot print I was hoping to hide it. I have looked at the rockford fosgate pbr 300.4 was wondering if anyone had any experience with these? Or if anyone has had any other amps that are on the smaller side I would like to hear some other options as well. Also I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could find some info on the little soundigital 250.2 I tried emailing them and messaging a soundigital rep on the smd website and got no replies. Ive been looking at DC alts for my truck and they go from 2005-2009. The 2010 is the same gen and engine as the 2005-2009 im guessing they just left it off the list by accident just wondering if anyone knows for sure if it would work or wouldnt for some reason. thanks in advance.

Wanting to add to my existing alarm, thinking about adding perhaps two exterior sirens, current one is hurting. Also like the idea of having one or two piezo sirens inside the cabin. I have seen these refered to as pain generators. Any of you have input on particular brands which might stand above others in performance? I also wanted to know if adding the additional sirens and alarms will require any additional wiring aspects, I guess I mean can I just wire multiple sirens or will I need additional installation knowledge or products? Hey there! Just a question, I know amps get hot, but i think mine gets too hot. It will get hot enough to burn the shit outta your hand if you touch it and count to 3. My question is, why? and can i prevent/stop this. I thought the problem was because of its location, it was under my seat, so i moved it out in the open thinking it would get more air and stay cooler. But i was wrong. It gets this hot on my way to and from work, so day and night regardless of outside temp. maybe 30 minutes of play. i've had my system hooked up for several months now and just decided to add a rockford 360 line driver. i hooked it all up with the remote wire to the rockford 360 tied in with the remote wire to my amp. as soon as i started turning it up my amp went into protect mode. so i took i guess at that me adding the remote wire to my amp did it. so i moved the remote wire to one of my secondary batteries just to see and it still throws it into protect mode. the voltage doesnt drop it will just go itno protect mode. any ideas or suggestions? just incase you need to know what i have system wise 2 18'' HDC3 audioque DC power high output alt 3 batteries in the back (2 kintik HC1200) …

I am gong to be getting 4 Rockford fosgate t2500-1bdcp's and im wondering if there was a way to calculate exactly how much power I will need. I am planning on getting 2 DC 300 amp Spx alternators and 5 xs 2700 Batteries. will that be enough or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi, Im about to start a build in my 2003 Dodge Dakota, Will be running a Crescendo BC2000D to two 15" SSA ICONS and a Rockford T15004 to a set of Hertz HSK components and probably 2 8" or 10" Crescendo Mids. Have an XS Power D2700 so far just wondering if at this point getting A 250 amp Singer alternator or a second battery ex XP2000 or XP2500 would give me less voltage drop or if its even necessary with that power? All wiring is Knukonceptz Kolosses 1/0 Gauge 1 run - one run +. Also any advice on personal experience with people running Crescendo mids along with a high end component set? Thanks,

I am going to be getting some hertz 165xl components and am considering running them active with a nice sound processor. The problem is I don't know much about sound processors or running speakers active. what should I look for when buying a processor? is it worth it or should I just use the crossover that comes with the speakers?

So, i'm looking at getting an aftermarket alarm system for my truck, but not sure what to get. I want to get a good one. But only problem is, my truck dont have no power locks, just manual locks, or that wont really matter?

1st off let me say that a dd1 is not currently available anywhere around me at the moment. And I just got my system installd so I wont be able to afford a dd1 for a month or 2. Also no shops around me have a scope (dont ask me how they set their gains). So I have to temp DMM set it. Question is ive read alot of people saying to set it to the HU preouts which would be 2volts. Even on volume 29 the gain is pretty much all the way down at 2 volts. Or do I set it from the watts/ohms chart that ive seen around the web? Which would put me around 38-42volts? Which of the 2 should I go by? Also what setting do I set the DMM to, I know its Vac, But is it 200, 2000, ... ? Any info …
