ok i know people on here say not to bother with a capasitor but almost everyone in my town here is telling me not to get a 2nd battery b/c it's not going to be as good and i'm wondering y you guys reccomend the battery over a capasitor? they tell me that caps are made for letting big draws out and batterys arn't ment for that, now i'm unsure what to do it's for a daily system a sundown saz2000d and fi btl 12" and big three 1/0 wire.

pretty much straight foward, I am getting 2 Q 15's and I am up in the air between these 2 amps, they are both around the same price and I was wondering some of your opinions on which will push/sound the best with the 15's. Also what is the BP option when you order the 15's? Thx Josh

Alright guys, I was helping my friend install a system in his HHR that he just got, and he wanted to keep the stock headunit. I don't know if the problem is because of the factory headunit not excepting the line out converter or what. The problem is that once we installed the line out converter to the proper wires the front 6 1/2's stopped working. We tapped the rear speakers for the line out converter. I did not solder the wires I don't think that is the problem though. The thing that is weird to me is that the tweeters still worked, the rear speakers still worked, and the sub and amp worked. Ok so heres the deal, futureshop has a 1000W RMS MTX amplifier on for 200 bucks, i plan on buying 2 of them if they are any good. They are fused at 120 amps and look clean. Any thoughts on mtx?

Well, I've been looking for a ho alt for my brother's Caliber and so far, the only company that has said they can/will build one is Excessive Amperage. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience at all with them. Nathan said he would build me a 200a unit that will do approx. 130 at idle. He also said that the alt is controlled by the car's computer and suggested I also purchase an adjustable external regulator from him for another $135. I'm not sure I need the regulator as we don't ever plan on running at higher voltage. Any input is very appreciated.

I am going to be buying a 2015 or 2016 Acura TLX v6. I believe the system comes with 10 speakers. I am trying to plan ahead and see how I would start with putting in aftermarket speakers and 1 subwoofer. I think I need 8 channels from amplifier to do the speakers without a subwoofer. So if this is correct, I can just use 2 identical amplifiers that have 4 channels each? Also if so, would it be smart to just use 1 amp for the rear channels in the car, and 1 amp for the front channels in the car? although each speaker will be different sizes and require different amounts of power... Hello, A friend of mine is asking me what can he chose for his new amplifier. He compete in spl, but want to play music too, so I think he should not get an amp to play at 0.5v daily. He has 2 18" subs (I guess Soundstream) with VC of 1.2 ohms. He can have a load of 0.6 or 2.4 for each sub, so 1.2 ohm for both. He will keep on upgrading the electrical system, but already has some AGM batteries in the car. I just thought about Stetsom amps. What brand should we look for ? What amps ? budget : let's say $1500 for amps. He will have shipping and custom taxes to pay. He's in a hurry, because the next local comp is on 02/20/2011. If you need more info, just ask. Ok so power master dont do a alt for my model of car, but im still intrested. so how hard and complicated is it to make a custom brcket. what are the ristks and chances of things going wrong? and guestimate price i should be paying for it. thx in advanse

So I just purchased this subwoofer Sundown SA12 v2. D4 RMS power 1000watts I have a sundown saz 1500d v.3 but I feel like it's a bit much Specs for amp 2ohm =3000watts x 1CH 1ohm= 1500watts x 1CH 4ohm= 400watts x 1CH What amp would you recommend for this single sub?

What exactly does this do to the amp? Also are the prices listed on the website the actual prices? I've never looked into these amps before, and they look real nice!! Ive been looking at the Duece amp, heard nothing but great things about them.

I recently came up on a SAE1200d for $125 and after using for a week or so it popped something and it wouldnt work. I took it to a local shop and they said it was the power supply cuz I wasnt giving it enough power so I did the big 3 and im running a 15 fi q at 2ohm. The other day I get it back and have it banging for about 3 days then after work on monday I turn it up and it turns off and it doesnt turn back on. When I get home I check all the fuses and they are good and I turn the car back on and something pops again and smoke comes out and its fried again. Now my question. What could be the culprit?

Im upgrading my BASS and i was thinking of buying the rockford fosgate T20001bd, anyone know these amps. I was going to try to buy a 12" btl to run off of it as well, do u think it is a good pair up?

I inserted my DD-1 disc into the KDC-X494 in my boat to set levels, and the CD won't eject. I press the eject button but it acts like I'm not pressing anything. Doesn't display eject or make any attempt to when I press it. It just ignores my pushing of the button. I tried pressing the reset button under the face, but no help. Any ideas? Is is a common Kenwood issue? How do I get my disc back!?

Hello all, Quick question about wire gauges. I did some research and found Recommended Power and Ground Cable Size so think I should be okay, but wanted to check in with this community first. Currently, I have 1/0 power cable running from the battery to the back of my truck. It hooks into a distro block and from that block I have two 4 gauge wire roughly ~2 feet or less connecting to two amps. One of them is 1000rms mono amp, and the other is a 100.2 amp for my front speakers. If I upgrade the 1000rms amp to 1500rms, will the 4 gauge wire be able to handle the extra power since it is only a very short distance? The ground for the 1000rms amp is also ~2 feet…

What's the difference besides the price? I know that the Kolossus cable is supposed to be thicker than standard AWG but is it worth almost double the price? Referring to 1/0 awg wire with an Audioque AQ1200D. Wire would be for power/ground/big 3.

I know this is a really stupid question but I want to make sure I'm tuning my amp correctly. On my amp the subsonic goes from 10hz at its lowest and 60hz at its peak. If I turn the dial to it's 12 o clock position is that 30hz or is it 40 Hz due to it starting at 10hz and not zero? Same with LPF. At its lowest it's 35hz and at its peak it's 300hz. At the 12 o clock position is that 150hz or is it 185hz due to it starting at 35hz and not 0?

Ok so I've been noticing over the past few days that when my amp is like 30 degrees or les it clips when at half volume. It'll clip like that until the amp has about 5 min of playing then I can't get it to clip? So I think I have a temp sensitive amp. It's a bc2000d made by crescendo. Does anybody elses amps clip when cold?

I have a RF T1500-1BDCP that once it is powered up its thermal light is lit very dim. The amp still delivers sound (and tons of it) and the protect light does not come on. It does this once the amp has power ground and accessory wires connected and radio is turned on. The system has runs of 0gauge KunKoncepts (+ and -), big 3 0gauge, optimum red top up front. Alt is 110 amp soon to be upgraded. I tested the wiring with an old P300-1 and it didn't have the thermal light show. I checked ground, and voltage and both were good. Anybody ever seen this happen?
