I have a buddy on another forum that has a KX 600.1 and it keeps going in and out of protection mode. The green light comes on for a while, then cycles back into protect, then green, then protect............. Any idea what the problem is? He let one of his friends mess with it one day and I guess they cranked the gains full tilt. He blew his L7. He took it out for a little while and hooked it up to another driver and it was working fine. When he put it back in his car after getting his new L7, it started doing all this. I think he's screwed, but maybe not. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I called a few friends but noone knew, so as soon as I got home, next step was to ask here. I sort of remember some people mentioning some kind of ground loop noise in the system, or had grounding issues with this head unit. Is this true or am I thinking of another Pioneer deck? I ask because I need to get a new deck for the civic to compete and Amanda's old Sony is not going to cut it. And before anyone asks, yes I want eclipse, but I just don't want to lay out that much for a deck right now. Thanks

I found two mmats for sale on cl in my area guy wants 700.00 for them they are 1400.1 @1ohm. looked them up online really couldnt find any reviews on them. was woundering if anyone had any insight on these amps. Are the under rated, the reason i ask is i have two fi d2 fwfl bl 15s. would these be good amps to push these subs i figure to run one one each. Any help would be great. thanks doogie

I recently purchased a new tow vehicle and I'd like to put some variation of sound in it. It has a double din dash so I figure I'd go with a double din head unit. I'm really not sure exactly what options I want besides 3 sets 4v preouts, USB and most likely blue tooth, I'd like to spend under $300 if possible but I'm not completely against spending more. Pretty vague I know, just looking for people's experience and what not.

Had to disconnect my radio for trouble shooting and when I hooked it back up with yellow to yellow red to red it dosnt wont to power on unless it's hard wired yellow to red.. I have a extra orange (illumination) wire left can't remember if it was hooked up or not please help so I don't have to take my deck out everytime

I currently have the IA 10.1 amp and a 15 inch Death Penalty with dual two ohm coils. I was worried about my electrical so I ordered a 1200w amp to be safe. My stock electrical holds at 15.2v at full tilt. It spikes down to 14.9 but quickly recovers due to the smart alternator, which is rated at 150 amps. The subwoofer definitely can handle more power. So my options would be to buy another 10.1 and strap them at 1 ohm or sell the 10.1 and buy a larger amp, DC audio 2K, or buy two other amps and strap them at 1 which would look good. Don't want to spend too much but I know another 10.1 is 400.

Ok im gona buy a new amp and every time i go online reserching i find this amp's like the "Lanzar MAXP2960" real cheap under $200. WHy is this? are these amps way under power, and if so about how many rms watts is it;. I was re wiring some amps back up in my jeep today and everything was working fine, including the headunit. I took it out to change the remote wire and put it back in, only to find out it won't turn on at all, completely blank display. I have a Pioneer DEH-1200mp, relatively new. No blown fuses, not under the dash, not on the back of the headunit, nor under the hood. I didn't smell any burnt smell from the headunit.... I really don't see how it could have fried either. Strangely enough, if the remote wire is connected, both of my amps power on without the ignition turning on. so I have to keep it disconnected otherwise the battery will drain. Whats a good amp for two 15 l7s. I was gona get a zx1500.1 but i think that wont be enough power to push these 15s. I will also probably upgrade my battery.

Here you go... There's still an amp missing, the matching 225 for the right side. I may be switching out the 2100 for a 250 for awhile. I'm trying to get ahold of another 2100 so I can run two to the sub, one on each coil. As it is right now it blends really well with the front stage for rock and so forth but there just isn't enough for hardcore bass music and I don't want to risk the 2100 by running it @ 1 ohm. I have a Alpine PDX 4.150 that I want to run my mids and highs with. I currently have 4 Alpine R 5x7's and would like to add an additional set of 1in dome tweeters on the pillars. How would I go about wiring that up? Thanks

I have a 220a MechMan alternator with two runs of zero going to the two XS power S3400s in the back. Nothing except the alternator is connected to the cars main battery but yet my cars battery is running at 16.5+v. The voltage jumps around like crazy to, no predicting it. Why is it doing that and what can I do to get it to sit at a stable 14.1-14.4v?

I was thinking about getting the audiopipe 3k, but a little confused on wiring my two D4 subs on the amp. Before you comment don't tell me to not get it because its a POS (I'm not asking wether I should get it or not). I am on a budget.. The amp does around 3k @ 2ohms. If you aren't familiar with the amp it has 2 channels, its basically two 1500s strapped. Can I wire my 2 D4 subs on this amp to get a 2ohm final load on the amp to receive 3k? This amp has got me so confused haha, thanks for the help.

Does anybody have any experience with them? Do they do rated power? I have heard rumors, but no proof, about the earlier models not making rated power. How reliable and durable are they? I have never used Hifonics so I am a little curious, I am thinking about getting 2 of them.

Well I don't know if I'm growing up, or just really wanting some better sound, but I'm really wanting a nice sq front stage. Unfortunately I can only adjust the placement of the speakers in the door panels for now, but maybe down the road I'll be able to do some more custom fabrication. Hey all, I have a USB and the jack that connect to my iPOD. Is the USB just for information/control and the jack for the music? Can I use the jack for input from my PC? here is a link that has a pic of the back, the top left corner has 2 wires coming out, the bottom black wire is like a regular headphone/mic/line in/line out jack. Can I run a PC/laptop out into this to playback PC/laptop sound through my system? Holy s**t! How much are you guys paying for alts? I called H.O. Alts & to replace my stock 130 amp with an oem repl 210 amp is $699.00. That doesn't incl tax, ship, etc! BTW this is the only one that won't require any mods or interfere with ecu so it's the cheapest route. Just got sticker shock & wanted to see if this was an average price. Called a couple local places but thier alts require a lot of other hassels with stock elec system.

I just bought an Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and needed advice on which cable to get for iPod/iPhone functionality. The Pioneer website has conflicting information. It says that for App Mode, you need the CD-IU201S but regarding USB iPod/iPhone Direct Control, it says to use the USB interface cable CD-IU201S or CD-IU201V. So... ill be needing 2 amp wiring kits. One for my sundown 50.4 (either 4 or 8 gauge. Idk what it takes.) that im geting. And one for my sundown 2500.1 (0ga) later on this year. Now my question is... for the wiring kits, is there any major pros to buying brands such as stinger? I just figure that copper is copper. Not sure tho. I just don't wanna spend the rediculous price that they cost. I was just gonna search for cheaply priced amp kits. So...hdoes brand mahtter that much? Pros and cons?
