i am using a dmm to tune my amp. and the voltage i am supposed to reach is 38.73 for 1500 watts. the first time i tried i got it by maxing out the gain and then some bass boost. i have the hu at 32 out of 42 and all eq settings at 0. but i adjusted the frequency and tried again and now i can get it back up as high as it was even when putting it back where it was before. whats the problem? and where should i have my bass knob set at while tuning it? i have done the big 3 and have a stinger spp1500d under the hood with 1/0 running to the amp and have a power acoustik ptid-8310nrbt radio and am going to be using a dc xl 12 if this helps any

this is gonna sound dumb, but I know very little about running active set ups. I'm not planning on it anytime soon, but just trying to be better informed. Google has been no help. My question is how are the rca's ran in a situation like this: any old HU with front, rear, and sub preouts a good 4 channel like a SAX100.4 or similar standard 2 way com set with mid and tweeter. Hello, I am in the process of deciding what I should do. I used to have a 180A alternator and it went bad. I sent it back to get fixed, and they quoted me $170 to build it back to 180A, or basically to fix it. However, they said that for $100 more, they can rebuild it to 200A. (I took it apart just for fun when I sent it back to them, just for fun, and it looked like it was a completely stock alternator which I thought was weird, but then again, I don't know what, besides rectifier diodes, is used to make an OEM alternator a high output alternator. needs some opinions on a good 1/2 din eq for under 150. just what some people are using. the main thing that i want is two inputs not aux just frt and rear with three outputs but if i have to i can do without.

So i want to upgrade. But not immediately. like. May not upgrade for a whiiile. But have chance to get a bigger amp. so total hypothetical. I currently have an AQ1200 in my truck with full 4 gauge wires off stock alt and batt. could I, run an 2k amp off of this set up. Never goin over like, probably quarter gain to half. (prollly long time before that amp would clip) 2k amp being a db drive okur 2k. I know anything above 1.5k comes with 1/0 inputs. But could i run it off of the 4 gauge til i can upgrade the rest of the set up is my basic question. Any of your guys' vast knowledge would be great!! thanks in advance!

I normally like to try to figure things out by my own but I'm not sure how to solve this problem. My front speakers are making high frequency noises that get higher as my RPM increases ever since installing a different amplifier. This is what I've done to try to isolate the problem/ information that may help: 1) Amplifier = JBL gtq200 2) speakers = Boston Acoustic pro60se 3) Before putting the speakers on the JBL, they worked fine for months. 4) I used the same set of RCA's on both the JBL and my other speaker amp (Pioneer). The Pioneer did not recreate the whine. 5) Also used a different set of RCA's on the JBL which did nothing to lessen the whine. 6) More gain on amp =…

well im saving for a new head unit, my old jvc is not reading my mp3 cds well, the remote wire is burnt, and does not have a direct connection for my ipod i was think about getting a kenwood(http://www.crutchfield.com/s_113KDCX595/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X595.html?search=kenwood+car+stereo) but found this jvc with a monitor and gps, but is refurbished(http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9842_JVC-KD-NX5000-R-B.html) which one would be better, it is going on a 2000 silverado, and my interior lights is blue, just in case

I want to upgrade my head-unit I currently have Jensen vm9312 (got a good deal on it from friend) but I want something better I want a head-unit that puts out good sound quality and offers adjustments. Don't want to spend a fortune but if it's necessary to spend a couple hundred I can save up I was thinking about the pioneer p8000bt any opinions or suggestions on a good headunit?

should i trade my eclipse cd7200 mk ii for the alpine cda 117. what do you guys think? far as sq which one is better. and i know eclipse is out of business. thanks

When i try to turn on my truck it crancks but then it doesnt go on.. I try again and it clicks...if i get a jump it starts and it shows normal voltage...i unplugged my system but it still keeps on doing it...plus i have the big 3 and the fuse from alt to batt melted...not blown just melted the casing...

I could not find the answer using the search fonction. Sorry. Can I use the Alpine 9886 with the Alpine processor pxa h 701 without getting the "screen" remote( RUX something) ? A friend of mine already has the h u, and he just made a fantastic deal on the processor. He does not know how to run both ! He has the imprint processor but this new one seems way better. If he has to buy the remote, he will do it, but it would be great to just run bost equipment without anything more. Thanks for your help guys !

I believe it's the Xtamt 1001/x amp. My config is a Xtant 604x running my highs, and the 1001/x running my JL Audio 13W7. Before the sub went totally out, the sub (lows) was fading in and out when I listened to a cd with heavy bass. That happened for about for about a month. I then hit a pothole, and the sub went out altogether. I had a local mobile audio tech take a look, he just deemed the amp as bad. I don't have to much faith in his findings, since he only used an old fashion volt tester. The one that lights up red or green. Sorry I don't know the correct name for the device. like my title says, im wondering if the mtx elite 1501d amp is linkable with a second 1501d elite? i did google it but came up with nothing so i was hoping someone on here might be able to help me out. i still have the 1501d amp i blew and mtx said they will put a new bored in it for $95+shipping. i would like to do that, then just get a second one in the future to push my 2 solo x 10's. let me know fellas!

I have a 2008 yukon with a stock alt...if i were to add a second alt,say a dc xp 280...can i leave my stock alt running the stock battery...then have my dc alt powering 3 xs3400...

just sold my jl audio hd amps. right now i am running some old school soundstream stuff untill i settle on some new amps. should i go with the old school linear power or the new zed audio? looking for the ""SQL"" set up i run 12w7's,jl audio c5 comps up front and and jl audio c2 comps for rear fill. should i stay with old school stuff or go with the new class d stuff again.

hi ok right now i have my 2 hifonics brz2400's hooked up daisy chained... 1 set of rcas from the cd player to the input... then another set from the output to the input of the other amp... then same way with the remote... now i know you can link/strap these amps together... i was wondering will it make a difference if i decide to strap them together instead of daisy chaining them... will it give it more power or just be the same ??

Ok, so iv been looking at power capabilities of wire sizes and im only running 4 gauge to the back of of my trunk. Now according to 12volt, with the length of the wire it will only be able to take around 600 watts rms of power. Would running my amplifier at 1 ohm, 1500 wrms, stress/overheat the wire? If this is true, maybe ill just run my amp at 4 ohms, (375 wrms) until i can run some 0 or 2 gauge wire once i buy it.

if i have two of the same amps can i link them or are there only certain amps that you can link together?

like my title says, i did some trading with a guy and hes sending me his 260amp iraggi alternator. its just over a year old and he has only been using it to power a saz1500 for a few months. is there anything i should be on the lookout for when hooking this up? like is there any electrical upgrades i MUST have done before i can hook it up? i have all 4 gauge wiring now but i am switching to 0 gauge before i try to push anything big. i only have a reg. car battery from napa right now but i plan on getting 2 deka 1800's (from Alan427 when he decides to sell) in the future to run as well. anything else??

One U.s. Amps VLX-25 @ 1/2 mono that draws 400 amps ona 95 Accord and need alternator upgrades badly. . right now i got a stock 100 amp alternator w 3 batteries totaling amps. A friend remommended Ohio Generators and want opinions on them or better options?

aight i see that AP came out with a new amp the Ap AQX3500.1 anyone have any reliable info on it? does it actually do rated... i have heard good things about the ap3000.1 just curious if would be a good investment if i decided to upgrade my system?
