Alright guys I'm new to the scene and I need help with my setup. I've gone through 3 amp in the past 5 months. I have had very very bad luck keeping amps alive in my car for very long. Well the amp that I have been having problems with is a Hifonics Brutus 2100.1d. I Have 2 FI BL's fully loaded in a custom made box. The amp is mounted to the top of the box in a recessed in amp rack. I spent the better half of my Friday troubleshooting my system with the manufacturer on the phone to figure out what the problem is but couldnt figure it out. I checked my grounds and rca's and power. The only thing I found wrong is that it wasn't getting the 14.4 volts it asks for to push i…

http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/showthread....18&pagenumber=1 (for those too lazy to click the link) Boys, Zed just informed me that he needs 50 buyers for each amps and the production will take place. Price for Kronos: $700 Price for Leviathan: $1200 Deposit: $350 and $600 respectively. Who's in? http://zedaudio.com/Products/New-Amplifiers.htm KRONOS: This is a 175w x 4 at 4 ohms or 350w x 4 at 2 ohms four channel amplifier. It has identical front panel features as Draconia. There are pairs of switches added to the rear panel which allow the pairs of channels to be switched into a high current mode. This will change the above specifications to 2 and 1 ohm respectively…

What does clamping an amp mean? "my amp clamped at 2800watts at 2ohm 13.8 volts" does that mean he stuck it in one of these, and it put out better?

I have been thinking about making some quality Big 3 kits, and just want to kind of take the forum's temperature about the idea. Ordering will be easy, simply give me the three lengths you need from mounting hole to mounting hole(for me, this will = terminal hole to terminal hole). Here's a rundown of the parts/process. 1) Wire being used will be the new black Audio Technix 1/0 CCA wire. 2) Terminals will be tinned copper to resist corrosion. 3) All wire/terminal connections will be crimped via a hydraulic crimper for a connection that will never wiggle loose or back out. 4) All connections will be finished with some black heat shrink tubing for a clean look. Do you guy…

Well I was driving around my area full tilt today no problems. But when i took my 20 min drive to work after about 15 min of playing full tilt it starts going into protect. Only when its loud though. Anyone know what could be the problem? I double checked all my wiring im pretty sure its all right the fact that it only goes into protect at the loudest volume. My thinkings are though Could my rca's put out a bad signal? I am only running 4g to my ground could that not be effecient enough? I dont have my wired fused coming off the second battery but the distance is very short could that be the problem? Also earlier i did accidently put the power wire into the ground input s…

I'm insatalling a entire system in my 2000 honda accord. I have the following components so far: Jl audio 300/4 sundown saz-1500d 2 jl audio 12w6v2d4's focal 165 v2's mb quart psc216 The only thing i need now is a head unit. I really want the avh-p4300dvd but i don't need a dvd player and i'm worried the car may get broken into for the headunit as it's not detachable. I could tint the windows but that's adding to the cost. I would be willing to get a single din unit but i don't see any nice ones out there. Can you guys make some suggstions on what a good single din unit it for around 150-200 range? The only thing i want it to have is Ipod interface and for me to able to c…

Hello there, my name is Mark. I Would like some input on best options for continuing to improve my electrical system. I am not satisfied with the way things are performing now. Seems like my voltage is very inconsistent and that there is way too much draw at higher volumes. No I have not hooked a volt meter up to see what the voltage has been. However, the dimming of interior and exterior lights have been a good indication something more is needed. Here is a list of what's already completed. Thanks in advance for all input and help. Vehicle: 2001 Vw Jetta GLX 12v VR6 Audio Components Headunit: Pioneer Premier P980BT Amplifier: Soundstream…

How do you guys do it and still get the door sills back down? That wire is so thick I cant get the plastic sills to snap back in. Also for those of you running the amp behind the rear seat how big is the amp? I have a sundown 1200 v2 and Im starting to wonder if its too big to fit back there. I cut out the rubber to fit the amp in but Im wondering if when I put the seat back in if it wont fit. Id like to know before getting it all done.

I have a 18" Fi SSD d2 running off of a Powerbass ASA 400.2. The sub is wired at 4 ohms right now and was actually only running on one channel of the amp and getting 100 watts. I just changed it to bridged because I just now realized it supports 4 ohms. It's rated at 400 watts when bridged. My gain when only running it on one channel had to be almost all the way up for the sub. Is this because it was only getting 100 watts ? I still wouldn't think it would have to be turned up so high. I was really worried about clipping but never had any burning smells when playing full blast for extended periods of time. The amp gets kinda hot but never overheats. When it is wired bridg…

I need help running the power wires and the RCA wires through my Buick. I've done other cars but in my Buick everything seems sealed off really well. First where would be the best location to run the power wire through the firewall. Second how would I run the RCA and remote wire behind the head unit. Behind the head unit seems sealed off.

Would going from ~130w to 300w each amongst 4 infinity 1252w's be worth the strain on my car's electrical system? It would only be a difference of 3, maybe 4 decibels. Would a high output alternator be necessary for 1200w, as well as a deep cycle battery? Or should I stick with the setup I have, and not have to dump around $500 into the electrical system of a car I don't plan on keeping? I could always take my battery, so I might get that if it would make a difference on it's own. My lights dim really bad, but even when I step on the brake or roll up a window w/ out the stereo on. My grounds are good, but perhaps my headlight ground is bad? Sorry, I know this ended…

I thought the belt turned the alt on and i could wire to rear batt bank. Can anyone with this type of knowledge please help me out?
