so im thinkin about selling my hifonics 1610d and buying a sae1200d from sundown. would that b a good idea? im running 1 18" fi q with bp power in a 6.3 cubic foot box after sub and port displacement.

What are the differences between the 2 if there are any?

my pioneer flip out had all of the preouts go out. I am looking for a nice headunit in the 300 dollar range. video is not necessary, but would be nice. I have a couple choices. I really like the eclipse cd-5000. I will not buy another pioneer. my other choice is a jvc kd-avx11 with a clarion eq to bump the preouts to 7volts. what would you guys do? I need higher voltage preouts and something that will sound good and last. I am going more for spl.

hey guys..im about to order some 1/0 to do the big 3 in, and was wondering if it was worth the extra money to buy welding cable, or if knu 1/0 would do the same thing. Im only asking because i've heard some people say bad things about knu because its not pure copper. Also..do you think 15 feet would be enough..its on a 01 cavalier. Thanks!

I'm really on the fence about this one. Don't really understand all the possibilities or what u can do with both style amps. Currently only have 4 2 way speakers and no amp and I'm not really sure if I'll ever be switching over to components. If I don't ever make the switch..is there any difference between a 2 and 4 channel on just 2 ways? Correct me if I'm wrong but if I have a 4 channel with components I can connect the tweeters to 2 channels then the mids and highs to the other 2? I'm eyeing the fosgate t400.2 and .4 there's only like a 15$ diff between them but the .4 is out of stock and I don't really wanna wait.. :/

Hifonics BXi1606D - 1600w RMS x 1 ohm U.S. Amps XT-4000D - 1500w RMS x 1 ohm both are close in price but the us amps is considered entry level and the hifonics isnt not sure what do you guys think? using them on 2 12" RE SEs at 1 ohm heres the data sheet on the hifonics theres nothing really similar for the XT though

I'll be getting my 260A alternatir for my 06 civic tomorrow. So I decided to take a look at all that needs to be done and I noticed the alternator charge wire runs into a fuse box, and know I'm unsure how I should run the 0 ga. for the charging wire.

What amp(s) would run 18 Fi BTLs to the max? Trying to keep it around $1000 give or take. I was looking at the Hifonics XXV Goliath, but I am still not sure. What do you think?

I am currently running an alpine 7995, at this point it is the cleanest deck I have ever heard. Has anyone heard one of the new Panasonics with 106 db S/N and 5V preouts, or does anyone have any other decks they would recommend?

ok, the problem is there is a noticable humming noise comming from my t1500-1bd, and its from the amp, not speakers nor subs it is a high pitch noise, and the worst is that when i turn the bass knob, the bass is louders, but then suddenly you start hearing the pitch noice more, and distorts, thats when i need to lower the bass knobs any suggestions thanks

I installed a stinger voltage display in my car about a week ago. Since then ive noticed that ill be driving around and all the sudden the voltage will drop from 14.4 to 12.5~4. But if i change anythin power consumpiton in car, (i.e. rolling down windows, blinker, turning my lights on, a/c on. and also when i hit the brakes or change gears) the voltage goes back up to 14.5 for a few seconds and sometimes goes back down to 12.5 and other times it will stay back up at 14.5 I thought it might be my connections, so i hooked two DMM in my car. One run to my battery pos and neg, and the other run to my alternator + post to my battery neg. Once i was driving around again and not…

Wanted to see if anyone knows much about hifonics HFi series amps or hifonics in general. It seems like a good deal and he sent pics and it's mint condition, looks untouched. Let me know! i unplugged my sub yesterday and noticed that running my mids/high amps cause my lights to dimm very slightly when bass hits. when an amp draws power it is producing a spike draw on the entire vehicles system wich it is not designed for as there really is nothing else on a car that will pull such a bust draw outside of cranking. how common is it to see a slight dimming of lights on audio installs? i ask because to me it seems that with 2 large batteries and a HO alt i would expect not to see any dimming regardless of volume level. now the wiring is good and i am certain that all my grounds/contacts are properly terminated. i am looking more into this as I am planing to …

Hello, I am wanting to upgrade my OEM alternator before I blow it . I am looking at an Iraggi 200 amp for $399 or 220 amp for $439. I dont mind the extra $40 so I am thinking 220 amp. Mechman is also an option as many people in my area give good reviews. The only downside is they dont make one for my car. If they did I wouldnt be writing this. Currently I have a 2009 Toyota yaris 4 door sedan. 1 JL Audio 1000/1 powering 1 15" Fi BL Loaded. Also 1 600 x 4 amp for mids and highs. I recently had an apline head unit installed in a toyota camry. I have a memphis audio amplifier pushing four 6X9's and an JBL amplifier pushing two subwoofers. Everything was working fine in my jeep and then yesterday when it was installed in my camry this happened. The head unit puts out an audio signal to the amplifiers only when using the radio, the cd player and ipod can't be heard through the speakers connected to external amplifiers ( but the cd and ipod can be heard through the speakers that are being pushed through the head unit's internal amplifier).

Just recently ordered 25 ft of 1/0 gauge from weldingsupply.com for what I thought was a good price. I just received the cable yesterday and Im slightly disappointed because its deffinitely on the skimpy side. Anyone have any experience with weldingsupply? Im just looking to see if you guys were satisfied with your order.

Ok so I have done the Big 3. Have a jeep grand cherokee. Found out the alt stock is 110amps. I am running a 100.4 amp and an alpine mrd1005d. Looking to get a deep cycle battery up front and a bigger alt. Battery i have up there now is 11 long and 7.5 wide. I looked at the battery basket and measured 13 long. I was thinking a powermaster d3100 up front. Just am trying to brainstorm some ideas and figure out a few different product choices. Also the Sea tweeters sound very nice. Barely need any power to get loud which really surprised me. Almost got those Excel mids dialed in and the midrange clarity is def worth it.

I bought a SAE-1200Dv2 and i have it hooked up... i am running two alpine type r 12s duel 4 ohm voice coils at one 1 ohm and the amp keeps shutting dow... it will play for a while and it shuts down and gos into protect.... i turn the volume down on my HU and turn it back up and t works... what could be causeing this...? any one know?

I recently purchased a new tow vehicle and I'd like to put some variation of sound in it. It has a double din dash so I figure I'd go with a double din head unit. I'm really not sure exactly what options I want besides 3 sets 4v preouts, USB and most likely blue tooth, I'd like to spend under $300 if possible but I'm not completely against spending more. Pretty vague I know, just looking for people's experience and what not.

I've got a 2002 Cummins and it has two sets of batterys under the hood and I was wondering could I just run two of the biggest kinetics up front and run my power wire from one of them back to my amp for about 5k I havemt decided yet but is that an option?

i was looking around at profile's site and looking thru their refurbished amps. are these amps worth buying? not looking at buying one right now, but i had thought about getting a few two chaneel amps, bridging both, and hooking them up to my sub. thought about getting a third and powering my front speakers. that would be like $100 ish for 3 amps....can't beat that. Are there any other manufacturer's website's that sell refurbs?? anyone had any experience with them?
